Tekken 6 is OUT!!

Played a couple more matches with people on my friends list just to see, and all of them had at least a full second's worth of delay. By comparison, Calibur was more like 5-6 frames on a good connection. That's still terrible, but it's not a full 60+ frames of input delay.

This is easily the worst netcode I've ever seen. For ANY game, at least on this generation.

I have no idea where you guys are getting these 2 second in put delays from...

Seriously the connection for me in this game is about the sameish as SCIV if not a little worse in sum places. Dunno but my first online match on this i had a 3 with sum1 in the US and i didn't notice that huge of a lag. It felt like a bad 4 connection on SCIV.

I dnt think i've ever had a full 2 second in put delay tho. 2 seconds actually seems to be a hell of a lot of time. Even on a 1 i havnt experienced 2 seconds delay yet. Tbh i doubt even 1. Thing i dnt like tho is sumtimes on bad lag its not just input delay but its really wierd game slow down, SCIV occasionally had this but it wasnt on a normal one bar, it was just sum noob using utorrnet or their internet majorly fucking up. Tekken sum1 can have a bad connection and you get both input delay and low down which is fairly annoyin.

I've yet to experience a 5 yet tho. I've pretty much abandoned ranked now. I'm just playing player matches with friends. I might add sum ppl from TZ l8r too. Best game ive had so far is against a fellow UK player who had a 5 with me in SCIV. We have a 4 in tekken but the connection with him feels almost flawless.

Yh i find it annoying not bieng able to do certain juggles online. Like lili's stable d/f2 the b22 (or summet) then a 1,2 jab. The 1,2 jab misses all the time on a bad 3 >:( I double buffer for most other characters tho just to be sure :)

Tekken online is pretty much the same as Soulcalibur online... it just seems worse because its a faster game and doesn't have the scrub buffer system that we've grown to love in Soulcalibur... thankfully it still has the long-buffer system.

You wanna see bad online? Try out Brutal Legend... how can you have input delay in an RTS?

when the METAL is too much for an RTS to handle is when.

This. But yeah that online was bad, but not Tekken bad. I've played people that I've also played in BlazBlue and SC before, and Tekken was MUCH worse. But I keep hearing people that are having my experience (including the people I played) and people that say it's close to Calibur's connection. Which is still ass, but I'm interested in knowing why there's such a gap. Can't say it's my internet, because I'm using the same internet, connecting to the same people as with BlazBlue or Calibur, and I'm not having those issues.

The easy answer is 3D fighters are slower, but there are those that say it's because of bad net-coding. I don't know, but I'm siding with both. Even the best net-code will have more lag for 3Ds vs. 2Ds.

I've been hearing more complaints about the lag than not. I was actually trying to save up just to get this game on release, and sadly I couldn't hold the money. Anyways, I'd have to say I'm glad I didn't buy the title right away. The complaints about lag seriously seems like you can't even play in a 4bar connection. A lot of these complainers, will say to me that they can't finish up a juggle combo because of the delay.

I have also heard that it's not that bad, and that it's playable. Considering a lot of the SC community, at least on my friends list, is playing T6 all the time- I can't say it's horrible seeing as how they're still stuck on it. I'll be waiting to get my hands on T6. People are comparing the lag to how it was when SCIV first came out. (Apparently there was a horrid lag to begin with) So, I'm going to wait it out.

However, I've played Tekken since Tekken 3. I'm not a huge fan, but I've kinda played here and there. It's fun though, and maybe I'd mainly play it offline instead of online if the lag is really that bad.

T6 also has better replay value than SC so even if online sucks and there's no one around to play offline for a while, you got Survival, Campaign, Arena etc.

And I dunno, SC's online has always seemed the same to me, hasnt improved, hasnt gotten any worse since it's release. Apparently Namco's patching T6 in December anyway.
