Much as I love both games, there are some similiarities between characters, sometimes in looks, sometimes in personality. Sometimes even both!

Kilik=Jin Xianghua=Xiaoyu Maxi=Law Seong Mi-na= Julia Yun-Seong=Hwoarang Ivy=Anna Nina=Taki Sophitia=Jun Raphael=Lee Setsuka=Asuka Rock=Marduk Talim=Alisa Cassandra=Christie Zasalamel=Raven Lili=Amy Hilde=Leo Cervantes=Heihachi Nightmare=Kazuya Tira=Zafina and most obviously Yoshimistu=Yoshimistu.

I even wrote a (comedy) fanfiction based on it xD Tekken and Soul Calibur ftw! *heart*
 
Yeah I agree but, you can draw similarites between every fighting game.
Tira = Lili = May= Arguably pullum
I mean there is only so much variation that can happen.
But I totally agree though.

I was deciding between Ivy and Nina, but then I thought that Nina and Taki have quite similar personalities, and used to killing things, wherever it be people or demons. Ivy and Anna are similiar due to their sultry personalities and attire, if you get what I mean ;) It isn't all about the purple leather, ya know. xD
 
Not specifically related to the comparisons, but... what Namco should start working on when they have finished making Soul Calibur V/ Tekken Tag Tournament 2/ Street FighterXTekken, is a TekkenXSoul Calibur game, with an option to switch weapons on or off, which means you can play the Tekken way, or the Soul Calibur way!

Many may disagree, but I think that would be epic! :sc4min1: just an opinion, don't curse me *virtually* for it... ;)

As cool as that would be, just wouldnt work, huge time difference, range W/o weapons the majority of SC chars would be hopeless and lose their uniqueness

Meh, it could be non canon. And i know it won't work for many countless reasons, I'm just being WAY too hopeful. ;)

Yeah, I know, the post wasn't a good one anyway, they can delete it if they feel the need to. And lol, you're right, I suppose the whole TekkenXSoulCalibur thing is a terrible idea. They are both unique in their own way, and are both awesome, but two awesomenesses cannot be merged, sadly. :C

I was playing the original soulcalibur on XBLA today/yesterday and i'm pretty sure cervantes and heihachi have the same voice actor as it goes...
 
I have actually never played tekken. Is it really that much similar to Soul Calibur? I've honestly never gave it a chance cause I only like certain fighting games. I already know I'm gonna get a "GTFO" reply. xD

Hwoarang/Yun= Red hair pussy young korean, that replaced the character above
Xiaoiu/Xianghua= little chinese boring girl
Law/Maxi= Bruce Lee wannabe
Heiachi/Cervy= Ex boss with badass moustache and evil laugh
Yoshi/Yoshi= :D
Mokujin/Charade= mimic puppet
Paul/Arthur= play SC3
Zasa/Raven= Teh mysterious black dude
Feng/Li Long= ultimate badass chinese dude
Nina/Ivy= Hot bitch in dark purple leather
Kunimitsu/Taki= Kunoichi char
Kazuya*/Mitsu= Basic japanese main character of the series
Kazuya**/Sieg-Nightmare= The Hero that turn into villain due demonic possession
Jin/Kilik= The new(back in SC1) hero, with evil inside him
Alex/Lizardman= dinosaur-like fighter
Zafina/Voldo= contorsionist wierdos related to India(Voldo's weapon is indian)
Unknow/Zwei= effeminate (well,Unknow is a girl) with pokemon werewolf
Ogre/Algol= Boss ancient warrior king
Steve/Raph= blond cocky european with uber classic european style
Violet/Viola= Bullshit try to hide new identity :D
 
lol the chars are similar, but the game play is v different
Soul calibur for instance is more balanced in the sense how much damage can be done in one string and that more power equals less speed, also 8wayrun is more obvious in SC
Tekken is dominated by unbalanced chars, ridicolous combos which req next to no skill to pull off, despite the fact stepping plays a big role in tekken, it can be on lower levels of gameplay be considered almost 2D
 
Why on earth are any of you comparing Kilik to Jin? Kilik's a faggot do-gooder, and (aside from in Tekken 3) Jin's an unstoppable demonic force.



...I hate Kilik.
 
It seems there's a typo in the title.. It should be Tekken < Soul Calibur. :b
But there are quite a few similarities.. Don't Xianghua and Xaiou* both have that BT B+K kick thing? I think Xaiou's launches, though.
