As long as we can avoid more animal parts, I'm good.
I don't know what the fuck this aversion is to modern outfits for CaS. Seems nonsensical to request that your creativity in a casual facet of the game be stifled because you're hellbent on adherence to a 17th century aesthetic that even the developers aren't too big on in the first place.

I don't "hate" modern outfits. I just hate the fact that we have hallf SCIV/SCBD clothing in SCV, and that they fill the empty spaces with "useless" stuff... Ok it's funny to have a fireman around, but I'd prefer (and most of us do too) armors, cut chars' clothing etc.
The modern parts would be interesting if SCV catalog was already complete. It isn't. Therefore, They should fill the game with good clothing instead of funny. It's as if we had 28 characters, including 24 guests. Funny yet out of place :)
I haven't download the patch yet but I will soon. I'm excited for the new CAS DLC, especially the main casts equipment. I really do hope that they are broken down into pieces for the slots instead of being 1 whole outfit. A few days ago after hearing this news, I went to CAS and looked at the main casts outfits and decided on what I see myself using when they are available... I'm decided to use...
Viola 1P: Stockings (especially want!), heeled boots, arm sleeves and maybe the dress minus the hood thing.
Viola 2P: Heels, shrug sweater top, and pants/hip skirt (hope they are both separate items)
Zwei 1P: Pants, thigh pouch, gloves, boots, and maybe his coat.
Zwei 2P: Mostly his pants (I love chap inspired designs <3) and fingerless gloves.
Raphael 1P: Hat, pants (love the lace up design), and boots.
Raphael 2P: Coat (even if it looks like a knock off of Sephiroth's. I'm sure I can find a use for it lol) and boots.
Tira 2P: Corset, necklace/choker, feathered shoulder hemline/dress, and maybe the boots if I can get past the stupid wings because I really love platform boots lol.
Patroklos 2P: Scarf, waist wrap, leather pants, and armored boots.
Pyrrha 1P: Lace-up top, skirt (would make a great Gothic Lolita item!), and boots.
Ivy 1P: Pretty much all of it but I hope they break the whole outfit into parts because I mostly want to use her waist coat and lace bustier. :)
Ivy 2P: Mostly her boots. I would use the jumpsuit but the rings on the legs kill the look for me... :/
Cervantes 1P: Hat, jacket, waist sash, left leg legging (hope it's separate from the pants), and boots.
Siegfried 1P: Everything
Siegfried 2P: Tunic, leggings, and boots.
Nightmare 1P & 2P: Everything lol
Hilde 1P: Everything.
Hilde 2P: Hat and boots.
Voldo 1P: Just his undersuit and boots.
Voldo 2P: Everything except his helmet lol.
Astaroth 1P: Helmet, waist fauld, and left leg stitch legging.
Mitsurugi 1P: Everything except the beads. Especially would love to use the tattered hakama.
Mitsurugi 2P: Everything.
Maxi 1P: Coat (hopefully the shoulder plates are separate from the coat), thigh holster/belt combo, and boots.
Maxi 2P: Arm sleeves/gauntlet combo, waist sash/front & back combo, and shoes.
Leixia 1P: Pretty much her Hua-Lin platform shoes and Hua-Lin knee socks. Don't really like her flower lily like outfit that much.. :/
Leixia 2P: Everything except the neckline fur. I hope that is just a neck item and not attached to the top...
Xiba 1P: Mostly his pants but I might try his shirt too.
Xiba 2P: Yellow long short sleeved coat and boots.
Natsu 1P: Waist cincher garment, mesh undershirt (hope they add it lol), and shoulder spaulder.
Natsu 2P: Everything but mostly her shoulder armor, gloves, and sandal boots.
Algol 1P/2P: Everything. lol
Elysium 1p: Everything. Her outfit as a whole may be on the slutty side for my tastes but I'm sure I can make things work lol)
Edge Master 1P/2P: Everything
Kilik: Everything but his mask. I hope that the long waist sash cloth is separated from the pants though.
And that's pretty much it!
I also second the request to adding more hair, faces, and weapons as future DLC. As far as hair goes, I'd like to see some brand new styles and some old styles from SCIV (Female Ponytail, Oriental, Setsuka's pompadour, Unkempt, etc.) and SCIII (Geisha, Medium Length, Low Pigtails, etc). For faces, I'd like to see a normal pretty woman face since the current older woman faces look odd. 4 is probably the best of the older woman face in my opinion. For guys, an old man face with a long beard would be awesome. I hope in the next game though that they make facial hair it's own slot like they did in SCIII though. For weapons, I also agree that I'd like to see a normal spear for Xiba and so on.
For clothing, I'd like it if in the future, they start releasing all the characters previous outfits from older Soul games and donated them to CAS. For example, they can make a pack called "Siegfried Equipment Expansion" and inside the pack would contain all of his outfits from SB/SE, SC, SCII, SCIII, & SCIV. It may be stupid but I personally liked a lot of the outfits worn in the older games and it would be cool to use them in CAS. I'd especially love to see outfits like...
And also, they could even make an "Unused Equipment" pack that contains outfits that weren't used for the characters for CAS. I mean, if they couldn't put them to use on the characters during the build up of the time, doesn't mean we can't lol. I think it would be very profitable on Proect's behalf because a lot of people, including myself would pay for this kind of DLC. lol
We cannot say we have a lot of pieces of equipment. Yet I found some good stuff for my characters, but 75% of the most interesting parts were making my characters look fat. Not to say some floating accessories.
It depends on each one's perception, that's true Mr Gat, but I can't fully say we have a good quantity nor a very very good quality.
I dont get why they're adding japanese gym/phys Ed, outfits as entire packs... and not
"Parent Packs" I mean, Xianghua's past outfits should be a pack since shes not in the game. Then people can dress up Leixia like her mom. Or "17 Years ago" Packs so we can get the entire fashion of SC4's era.
Well, judging by what TVtropes wrote about certain aspects of this game...
TVTropes said:
Supposedly, this game takes place during the mid-to-late Renaissance, but there are certain aspects of the series (mostly the costumes and some Steam Punk elements coming from llluminati-esque underground cults) that never really conform to a single real-world era.
It says steam punk but I hardly see it in this game... I just wish they kept Asholette as a character. She had could have grown into a strong asset to the series and replacement rock or a member of Astraroth's tribe as a gaurdian of him or something like Tira to Nightmare. Being a doll she could have been a humorous aspect to the series, like Alisa to Tekken. Her an and yoshimitusu would question each other if they met. Well I just dont like them killing their innovation. Not to seem hypocritical, but I just think she fits more then ZWEI... the final fantasy reject.
I suppose we can accept anachronism to a certain point, right? How many here on the community were pissed at Star Wars characters for "not fitting the era/atmosphere of the game"? I like Vader, I had fun playing with him and logically they are not out of place. But if I wanna play a game with modern clothing, I go play Tekken.
I'm on repeat I know, but they should focus on elements that fit in the era (might they be in a 100 years range) and not on fan service. Just saying.
I'm not in an "old grumpy mode", I'm just into a "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY GAME mode"...
Well Astaroth's 2P kind of could pass for a Steampunk robot... <= ) But yeah, I miss Asholette. Out of all the guest art characters, she was my most favorite. All the other ones were stupid in my opinion...

Yeah, I'm the same. When it comes to me making my own CAS (I don't recreate popular characters), I like to dress my characters to fit the time period of Soul Calibur and it's always been that way since SCIII. So DLC like Maid outfits, Japanese Gym wear, or school girl outfits don't really interest me honestly. I'd prefer to see more Ninja/Samurai/Geisha/Knight/Tribal/Occult/Chinese outfits.
For modern character creations, I'll just wait till Tekken introduces CAF (Create a fighter) because I have a feeling they might end up including some day lol Or if Mortal Kombat re-introduces the mode (MKA may have been very tacky in design but the concept was pretty innovative). lol
Yeah seriously, what's up with the faces nowadays?
Why isn't there a separate slot for facial hair similar to SC3?
I really do want to have facial hair for my CaS without making them look like they got hit in the face with something.
And, and female faces that aren't either super kawaiidesu or dominatrix.

The best thing they could offer us as DLC, is the faces, clothing and hair of the characters not added in SC5 so we can build our own versions of Cassandra, Taki or Seung Mina, if they really cared. Is it possible for them to make a patch letting beards and eyes be seperate? The beard issue has been an annoyance since SC4 and a downgrade from SC3. Rather then the maid pack, I'd want a full gothic pack, or the content from Broken destiny not carried over.
