Might as well make a thread Where you can vent, unless admin gets butthurt and erases it.
I'd rather have an improvement thread though

And no one cares about Talim, if that's what you wanna put in there.
Nah, chill out. It would be an improvement thread.

Is There a "Bad of SCV" thread here? Its make sense to have one.

Or

An inmprovement thread with ideas for SC6.

I haven't come across a thread titled "The Bad of SCV" but pretty much, most threads that deal with SCV are filled with negative things about the game. And it's more then one thread at the same time. That's why I felt I should start a thread that acknowledges the good of the game. And with SC6, I don't know but I think I saw a thread titled "Improvements" but I think it was only for SCV.

Fa sho, it'd be interesting to see others ideas for Soul Calibur 6. Maybe they should announce SC6 first, then we can start an improvement/Idea thread.

Ah, the good of this game, such a positive thread:

-The games art style and graphics make it one of the most beautiful fighting games out there. The stages and character models are gorgeously designed and the characters themselves have had a pleasing evolution in their attire.

-The concept artist for this game really made beautiful and detailed works with lots of effort put into them. Imo, its a huge improvement from the SCIV concept art, which kind of look a bit flat and dull. I hope PS continues using this artist for their games.

-The improvements to facial expressions really help characters stand out when they express themselves through lines. When you see the slight twitch in Raphael's eyebrows, the perk of Tira's cheek as she coyly smirks, and the slowly widened eyes of Patroklos, you realie how uch effort was put to make these faces look real.

-Soul Link was a good feature that helped add a layer of competition among friends and foes alike. It was a good way of also keeping track of everyone.

-I love the improved netcode since SCIV. There are a few tweaks needed but otehrwise, an experience ten times better than SCIV.

-The combat additions of BE and CE are really integral to the system and (imo) a positive edition. Managing meter and using your BE and CE in tandum with your other moves adds a lot more complexity and depth to the fights as well as being flashy and eye catching.

-The faster pace and higher damage help add more risk and strategy to the game. Players are forced to act and react much faster and makes matches intense and fun to play with friends.

-The more concise movesets was a good idea. It has helped make mastering the tools your given easier and made managing balance better.

-The game's balance is actually the best it has been probably ever. Tiers are not miles apart and make every character viable. While there are a few that are outwardly strong and annoying, each character has strengths and weaknesses that place them among each other as near equals.

-The music in this game is my favorite as an overall OST. While I miss some of the songs of SCII-IV, I love nearly all the musical pieces in SCV and appreciate the work put into making it.

-Character creation (for all its faults) is a more robust system with a lot more depth and possibility than ever before.

-I love the voice acting in this game (prefers English voice cast) and love hearing the dialogue. Its still the same lines for all our favorite characters, but the small tweaks in the script help differentiate it enough so it doesn't go stale. Also, Raphael's psychotic laughter, Tira's demented moods, and Algol's haughty personality were just some of the many expertly done characters.

There is a lot more I am forgetting for sure, but this game is my favorite, hands down.

I've been playing fighting games for over 20+ years now. SC4 is the first game that got me into competitive play/traveling to tournaments/being a part of a community, but there was a point in time in year 1 where I only saw the negatives of the game. That's why it's good to play more than one fighting game so that you can see the negatives in those games. Compared to those games, SC4 had more things going for it for me as a player.

I just finished going through the same phase with SCV and compared to these newer games that are out, I rather play SCV. Here's my positives:

Music: SC4's music was mad dull, so it's good to see how much improved the soundtrack for SCV is.

Stages: SCV offers a wide variety of stages that look amazing which also adds to the game from a spectator standpoint.

Gameplay: The new mechanics make SCV not look like a borefest like the previous games. Don't discount them as just mechanics stolen from Street Fighter. Street Fighter steals stuff also. So do other fighting games. Not to mention guard breaks that actually work, pairing down movelists, removing junk A+K inputs which I really appreciate because I can play the game and hold the controller comfortably and not need a bind for moves that are probably junk anyway.

Characters: I like the fact that SCV isn't filled with a bunch of clones with bloated movelists. Every character is unique.

Create A Soul: SCV still has a better character customization mode than these other games and offers alot more freedom to create instead of being forced into creating a character a certain way. Plus look at all the people that have CAS threads.

Online: Can't forget that this game set the bar on netplay and the social aspect the game facilitates. Only problem is that alot of people aren't that social to begin with.

Replays: This was the one feature that I was hinted to about the most before this game came out and how it would change things. Now I see more online replays than actual offline replays for this game. Don't take it for granted.

High Damage: At first I wasn't a fan of the high damage, but now I am.

Balance: Huge improvement in this area, especially compared to SC4 where half the cast was actually unviable. Maybe 1 or 2 characters are unviable in SCV, but at the same time, alot of people don't go to tournaments, so who knows.

But anyway, this game is good. Alot better than the previous games. Could use some improvements here and there, but the base is solid. And eventually, people will start to come back to this game. Just don't dwell on the negative.

Yeah I really do like the BEs and CEs now. I don't think it's so much a rip off from Street Fighter. I see them like mini specials. These kinds of functions have been used in 3D fighting games before like King of Fighters Maximum Impact & 2006, Bloody Roar games, and even a bit in Soul Edge. So the new mechanic doesn't bug me at all anymore.

Agree, CF was pathetic, like really stupid system that only made the game even more lame. BE and CE are awesome is one of my fav new things.
Fa show, CF was tough to do on good human opponents and caused people to only do high damage attacks to break armor and soul gauge.

I like that you have to work for CE and BE, but you can still use it in every round compared to CF where you hoped to use it in the last round.

If they could add weather to the stages in SCVI it would be amazing.

Cervy's stage is the only one with a storm. I already know that you already want stages where you can pick when it's night, dusk, dawn, noon for time of day. Then turn around and have rain, snow, windy, cloudy aesthetics to go with whatever climate on that stage.

This is something I can agree with, yet I'd rather hear what you liked about our current SCV. I think if Namco were to do a survey for instance, on what the fans did like, they could improve on it. Eventually, they'll at least listen to more positives than the negatives. Negatives need to be fixed which is obvious. However, the positives that they hit the nail with is something like better netcode. I complain less on lag than I did on SCIV. No more lag tactic codes. This is something I can leave as a positive for PS to keep improving on.

In a nutshell, flaunt on the good parts for PS before we can get spoiled to ask for more stuff. I want many things in my SCV as much as you, but it's best to tell everyone here in this thread what you liked most in here. Even if it's redundant, I find this thread to be a "survey voice" to PS if they wanted to know the positives.

Remember the ice stage in SC3...lol!
I never wanted to "geek it up" over a game. My first invite to 8WR was from someone I played in SCIV maybe four years ago. I was afraid of being a geek I guess. I also worried that using public knowledge to learn a character would make me fight like a drone. I was so wrong. I missed out by not joining the community sooner. This place has lot of good people and passionate conversation. The difference between SCIV me and SCV me couldn't be more stark. From stoic hermit to enthusiastic and social. Anyway, here's my list of likes in order from greatest to least.
1. Mechanics + Weapons = *drool face*
2. Online (I wanted to fight online since I saw Dreamcast had a dial-up port.)
3. TNA
4. CAS
5. The community (would be higher but since it's not actually built into the game I dropped it to last.)
