The team fortress 2 thread

Any upgrades applied to either part of a tele applies to both. So you can use 150 metal on your entrance then build an exit and hit that for 50 metal and you've got a level 3 tele set up. Everything reverts to level 1 if either part gets destroyed, though.

Also, this is absolutely hilarious...

I got to noticing TF2 there hasn't been any word about the BIG 360 version update. Well I did some sniffing around. And found the notes on the December 10th update.

"We are actively working on a massive XBox 360 update, which will include pretty much everything we've shipped on the PC in the last year. We'll provide you with a rough date when we have one." - Valve in the December 10th Patch notes.

So they havn't forgotten about us, good to know. Left 4 Dead is supposed to keep me occupied til then? HEY! No, Problem Valve! I love L4D with every ounce of my gaming soul.

Oh snap MOAR ROCKETS.

DAMN COLLEGE. I don't have a lot of time to play. ;-;

Scout update out next week and Valve are slowly releasing each of the new weapons. First one for the Scout is his Bat replacement,The Sandman. It hits a ball and stuns whomever it strikes. Duration of the stun depends on flight time. Also works on people who are ubered. Downside is you cant double jump while you have it on you.

I wish they didn't make TF2 so low-tech. TF1 is leagues better; and the Weapons Factory series the king of all class-based CTF. Once I get my new gaming desktop together, I'm making a WF mod for UT3.

TF2 is still enjoyable to an extent, however. I just don't understand why they had to dumb it down so much.

Simplicity is the key to "Get in and Go" gameplay which breeds a larger fanbase.

The original Team Fortress scared people away with it's multitudes of tricks, specialized weapons, and odd gameplay mechanics (So I'm infected with what? who? I don-*DEAD*).

TF2 is by no means an overly complex game, but it is one of the most enjoyable Source games ever to come out of the Valve Studios due, in my opinion, to it's simplistic system that appeals to more casual gamers who want to just play for a bit as well as appealing to the hardcore gaming crew by having very polished, top notch gameplay overall.

-Then we get into the whole casual vs hardcore argument thing and... let's just not get into that.

On a more SCOUTUPDATEzOMG note, "SCOUT UPDATE zOMG!!!"

I'm excited to see what they do with the scouts pea shooter (the pistol) and I hope, no matter what it is, it comes with more than a handful ammo...

I don't feel TF1 was complex. My younger sister was like 8 at the time and played with us, just fine.

Regardless, if anyone has played the 'Weapons Factory' series - you know TF is crap! :(

Granted, I've never played TF1, but I still enjoy TF2 a great deal.. xD I mention TF2 and INSTANTLY I get the reaction of "TF2 SUCKS. TF1 IS SO MUCH BETTER." Well, okay, so? lol

This isn't to be offensive: but it's kinda like 'once you know better, you're spoiled'.

TF2 is just a dumbed-down version of some badass mods from the Fortress Era of MOD'ing. Don't get me wrong, I like to bug EscapingJail to play Heavy so I can play Medic effectivly; and I just purchased Orange Box for PC to fiddle with the class updates on release - it's just hard to explain.

'Weapons Factory' series seriously needs to see light again.

Regardless, I'm up for games sometime. I play a good Medic and Spy; Engy and Scout when needed.

Purely opinion. Thanks for sharing.

Now, on topic; me thinks this update is a little much. Im kinda getting frustrated with Valve for the repeated indirect nerfs to Medic Ubercharges. At this rate, there wont be much reason to pop one off, lest you get slowed, air blasted or stunned.

lol wat? Your 'retort' doesn't fit the nature of the comment. My lord, I love internet kids' ignorance.

Too good. Thanks - rough day at work today, and I needed that intellectual blasphomy to cheer me up.

This 'sub-discussion' does, however, make me wonder how long it will take consoles to catch up to PC gaming. Power-wise, we're almost there; argueably. Other categories, not so much.

Lastly, does anyone have solid info on when the class updates will hit Xbox? I'm under the impression 360 will eventually be patched and PS3 plans to never patch.

I believe that the PS3 is 'Retard Strong' when it comes to raw computing power, however it's hard to take full advantage of it's computing capabilities when people want to make cross platform games so they can maximize their profits (THANKS TARDBOX, YOU'RE HOLDING THE SMART KIDS BACK).

...and there was no more animosity in Gopher's statement than yours Holyforce. You stated an opinion, and he said, "That's Holyforce's opinion," just as a guy who is standing in a crowd around someone who is one fire would yell, "OH MAH GAWD HE'S ON FIRE!"

On a semi-related note I just purchased this shirt and feel it is appropriate to this thread at this point:
