If you want better people, simply educate them. The constant dick wars is why we don't see ranks shift around. Very few people take the time to help the community actually grow because they're too busy harassing others with their superiority complex.

The problem is our current community and the game's popularity in it's age have not made it viable for people to grow that aren't determined already.

No I'm sorry, I'm wrong...we are a thriving community of respectful gamers that have wonderfully productive discussions on our game and help new people learn without ever feeling intimidated or harassed. It's awesome how little affect trolls or ego have in our community. It's reasons like this that we're so organized and in sync with all our tournament ban discussions, and tier lists, and understanding of skill. Ahhhhhh go us. Smiles and rainbows! Here's to intelligent discussion!

Well you are true i guess. I'm new in this froum but when i first got here, i was failed in a local tekken 6 tourney, i complaining about tekken's juggle sys and i was saying SC is better, and than "kingace" guy appeared. Said "you sound like a scrub, SC is for noobs anyway" bla bla, that was a nice welcome(!)

I like it here, it was just luck to be welcomed like that right? .....
 
The idea that a community of individuals who's shared pursuit is the acquire knowledge at a virtual fight against each other to prove who is better and validate egoes, wave dicks, and trash talk... should be in sync and polite? Are you kidding me? That is, quite frankly, never going to happen. Take it from someone who has tried alot harder than you at making it happen once upon a time.

Idle...no...I've seen you be just as bad as the rest. look at your last sentence. There are plenty of member, MYSELF included who dedicate a lot of time to helping new people learn and not make them feel like shit. I just get spotlighted poorly because people only perk up when someone's harassing me for a need to defend myself and write it off as ego.

This community is dominated by gameFAQs worthy scrubs (ignorant folk...not new comers) and it's a pain in the ass for people trying to help the game out and bring new people in. We look like an Eventhubs thread most the time.

First of all, I've earned my right to dickwave by doing things for the community for 2 1/2+ years. In terms of going through the cycle of attempting to shelter newbs, oppress trolls and keep things civil; I've come to the realization it is just not worth it.

I don't give a fuck if people are gonna get all weepy over some internet insults. I don't have your idealism on how things should be, because by and large, people don't deserve it. You just can't fight all the trolls. You know who else you can't fight? Players who are so convinced of their own rightness they will argue for DAYS, WEEKS, YEARS over something trivial and stupid.

You used to be one of those guys IFB, remember? I don't even mean that as a personal attack, but more as a way for you to take a step back and understand that there are far more people in the community like the guy you used to be than the guy you are now. Even more than that, there are guys who play dress up more than they care about how they play the game, and there are more guys that care about how other people are playing the game as opposed to ACTUALLY playing the game.

Barring widespread sweeping changes, this ideal noob friendly utopia will never happen. Ever.
