Theory Calibur/Go to DEV/Like This Post Thread

I've seen you on both ends of the spectrum Idle.

But im not asking for us to hold hands and give a reach around with every online FT 10, I'm just saying when someone posts something on the OP and 90% of the replies debunking it are COMPLETELY OFF THE POINT of what the poster was conveying or targeting one oversight to negate all the rest that is valid...it's an issue. We don't cater well to productive discussion and then inevitably we get into these debates over and over again. look at the responses and you'll realize most people do not continue the debate off the post, they merely say "no, that's wrong" (with a bit of dickery to the wording) without any reasons and wave a false sense or superiority around. Most people here are not capable of intelligent discussion EVEN when they have valid info to put forth. I remember one time me and you got in a very heated debate over me not liking the 50/50 throw escape system. I had a VERY valid reason for my siding, but in the end agreed with you...but I had to endure a LOT of ignorant posts telling me I was wrong including you who got really frustrated. You had a lot of merit to your posts but I had to really read what you said a few times to get past the derailing aspects and eventually formed my own reasoning to align with your position. Meanwhile, run to the Ivy thread...this shit doesn't happen often! Some one asks a question "How do I do Ivy's 37 hit combo?" you'll not only get how, you'll get a post on why it's not viable, better options, etc... it's super productive over there. Run back to "SC 5 thread" and heaven forbid ANYONE who says they want a nerf or something done to customs without getting elitism poured down their throats.

Now to make a point...look at my posts responding the the OP (you know the reason we should be checking this thread)...and look at the responses...what in any way do they propagate intelligent discussion or offer anything validity to the disagreement? Do they point out my over sights and give correct info? Do they offer a different view? I write walls with SEVERAL points, it's not hard to pick one and argue it without being a jackass...hell I look at my old stuff all the time and go "hmm I was wrong, I shoulda done etc..."....hell I sometimes respond to my old stuff with a counter point. I don't ask for much, I simply want people to stop laying their dick across the keyboard as a justification to "valid" post.

My only advice for you is leave now, or continue to be disappointed. Other than that, your post is logical, even reasonable. But that shit doesn't fly here. Any ingrained mentality does not just go away, even when presented with evidence that position is harmful. Also, to echo bubbles- it's the internet. People are not inclined to have civil discussions.

To quote the best sig I've ever seen:

Civilized men tend to be more rude because of the lack of fear of having their skull split, as a general thing.

To extrapolate on that; when you put that on the internet and there is no real fear of any real reprisal of any kind... well you get the idea.

What incentive can you provide to get people to stop trolling? If you can answer that, you'd be rich.

PS: Also, to keep the streak alive, Dicks.

No I'm sorry, I'm wrong...we are a thriving community of respectful gamers that have wonderfully productive discussions on our game and help new people learn without ever feeling intimidated or harassed. It's awesome how little affect trolls or ego have in our community. It's reasons like this that we're so organized and in sync with all our tournament ban discussions, and tier lists, and understanding of skill. Ahhhhhh go us. Smiles and rainbows! Here's to intelligent discussion!

i tried online when i had the chance on xbl but with lag its totally different game. Plyaing offline with my family is much more fun.

I'm tempted to lock this thread since it's gone way past stupid a long time ago. I just want to say is play the game, have fun, and stop worrying about what other people do or post. Bye.

Alright well serious reply, a good player is someone who is adaptable to an opponent but also knows how to have fun and like playing the game. If you don't enjoy the game and just the win(doesn't mean you can't enjoy the win too) you aren't playing the game as far as I'm concerned.
