Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Ugh soo...still debate on how Shuma Gorath and Jill will be issued out. The 2 theories:
  • CE people get them immediately through an unlock code, everyone else waits 4 weeks to get for free or pay.
  • CE people have to wait 4 weeks, unlock them and everyone else has to wait till they become available for free or must purchase them.

Pretty fucked up Capcom...

However they are official. I do also support getting the CE anyway, simply because the art is amazing...and the non-CE is god awful looking.

BUT IN GOOD NEWS A RELEASE DATE! And it's sooner than we hoped: FEB 15 for US and FEB 18 for EU!

I don't think its on the disc and I don't think anybody is getting it until a month after release. The LE peeps just get it free when it eventually comes out.

Got mine preordered! - now to get my stick dual modded in time. BTW...walmart online is selling SF4 SE stick + vanilla SF4 for only $29...seriously I just bought it...for you stick less people this is a steal...plus you can always sell the game back for even cheaper stick!

I thought Zero was broke...as the forums are teeming with people screaming cheap but then I realized...it takes 4 hypers AND an x-factor for zero to deal 80%+ damage. If you don't have that all, the combos do significantly less damage. He also takes damage like a bitch, so really I feel he's balanced. Any character with 4 hypers and an X factor could probably do the same damage and with out his tacked on lvl 3 it just isn't as scary...still long as fuck combos.

She-Hulk is actually looking really good. El Feurte on crack with a lot of good tools.

The game variety is looking amazing in terms of game play. I feel we're gonna see a LOT of diversity in a fighter for once in terms of both character selection and play style.

Modok, Arthur, Trish, Spencer and Super Skrull seem to be the most appealing to me. Love them ranged fighters.

With the release of Zero, I now have my whole team:

Amaterasu
Thor
Zero

I don't know if theirs a theme with them or not... But I'll see.

I'm hoping there's an update to the game 1 year after release because I am seriously not feeling the characters. All I wanted was Jin even though I knew it wasn't likely but when I see characters like She-Hulk Modok and Arthur I just get turned off. I'm all for new and interesting fighting styles but I just prefer better characters. If the game had a bigger roster I wouldn't mind them but the roster might only end up in the 30s. There are ton of characters people wanted to see that probably aren't making it in and Capcom is pretty good with trying to please fans these days so maybe they will do some kind of update.

I will still buy the game but it's just not shaping up the way I had hoped.

Love the roster. While I'm not a fan to a lot of them, in terms of gameplay and diversity it's a great mix. I really feel there's something for everyone. I was worried it was gonna be only newly popular characters and returning staples; the addition of quirky characters and old throw backs is making it interesting. It makes it feel like a new game as well, not a rehash with new paint. I'm seeing so many possibilities for "fun" teams as well.

I also feel with this diversity we're gonna see a lot of new stars in tournament level play. Seems you can really focus on a completely different skill set to play say MODOK, Amaterasu, and Wolverine. With games like SSF4 I feel you need 80% the same type of skills as the other players and 20% goes to character specifics, and it restricts the amount of people who can achieve competitive level play.

all those trailer videos just show zero outright dominating the other characters with basic combos. can't believe i've already hated the character before i got to know him.

You do realize those trailers are scripted? They're designed to make the character seem insanely good. You'll notice that zero doesn't do much damage without a combo and he takes damage like a bitch. It took me awhile to get over the "ZOMG BROKE" reaction...but at the end I feel Zero is fine. There's a lot of conditionals for him to deal insane damage.

then every other character's intro should have some crazy combo as well, which the case was not. Ie, if you saw a soul calibur 5 trailer, and there were "character intro" trailers, where you see hilde's doom combo as part of her trailer/scripted battles., but every other character gets a video of BB/AA and simple combo, it would not be surprising if you notice the difference.

I could be wrong if zero's combo-starter was really difficult to justify it, but it does not seem to be the case. Since these trailers are for both the hardcore mvc2 veterans, but also to the newbies (me), the impression i'm getting is I should give zero a try over the other characters

I have a feeling he'll be good, but not the broken character he appears to be. He is a double edge sword with him having an Akuma like life bar. As well if you can keep him below 4 bars when he has an xfactor you can still recover from that super combo, and really it's only 1/3rd of your team for 5 hypers and wasting the x factor. Think of it like THC's that can kill if they connect, they require the opening and the resources ( as well as a full team)

You all must have never played TvC. Zero doesn't take damage well but he has one of the best and most versatile movelists in the history of fighting games. Not saying he'll be broken, but he was an amazing point character and it looks like they only made the potential for his combos and resets better (not to mention actually making his super better for something other than DHCing).

Wtfux are you talking about downloadable content for? You need to get your shit together.

Other than that, though I wait until releases and actually playing games to 'rate' characters (and find it rather amusing that people bitch about things that can't even possibly understand), I think you're right about them making a bunch of people's tools better.

Still, I can't wait until all these people 'hype' for MvC3 (especially the guys who just got into FGs with SF4) quit it because they're too busy getting crossed up, reset, and OCV'd to realize what's going on and dub it broken... Also, is it just me or does this game look a bit on the slow side?

I kinda like it's speed. I know people really like it on crack speed, but I feel we're gonna see better fights this way. I feel there's enough commotion and now unblockables to keep the skill level high without demanding people people stupid fast at all their inputs and responses.

You really can't judge how well characters will perform till you try it out. Wesker has teleporting and that magnum is quick as hell. Seems wesker will be very good at getting in, applying pressure, then doing teleport mix ups. I can see him getting passed projectiles, you'll notice the game doesn't have the same abuse of beams as MvC2 (no more back peddling cable spam). There's still other types of projectiles, but as long he has a teleport he can land on the other side and punish.

I wont be using him probably since he's not my type, but I have a feeling he'll be pretty technical.

DAMN GOOD NEWS.

Just announced at that it seems 10 MORE characters are to be announced. That's a very healthy roster and more than a lot of people were expecting (i was guessing 4)
