Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

So he would be a Capcom Skrull I guess.

Basically correct except the main difference being that the Fantastic Four never made any appearances in Capcom fighters anyway. So in that respect, Skrull's moves are not copied, only his abilities.

Man, i really hope Capcom sees the value in Seth. He could fill in for a few Street Fighters easily.

This. But on top of that I'd wish they'd see the potential in a complete overhaul of a character just for the concept of MvC3.

Just as an example, take Akuma from SF. You could take the fact that he's the obvious powerhouse (plot-wise) of the series and actually change his moveset a little to reflect it. I say this because the overall strategy and feel between a series of games is obvious. If you look at Ryu (another good example for this) as he plays in SF4, TvC, MvC2, and even the Alpha series he's a different beast each time you see him. The key difference is while that movelist is familiar with many people, it doesn't always translate well into other games. MvC2 being the big example, and even moreso since this is the series we're talking about, since the zoning games played are on a whole other level from the SF franchise. Thus, keeping their old movesets tends to nerf them without actually applying any nerfs to them at all. Same goes for charge characters in the MvC series, but that's a whole different story.

Back to Akuma. You could actually step him up a little and he'd be a viable replacement for the likes of Captain Commando. Take some of his old supers from previous games and make them standard specials and he'd have a decent zoning game. Even taking something like his Misogi, creating a vertical attack out of it (similar to, if not exactly like CapCom's AA Assist), and making it a standard special would be a large step in converting a SF character into the MvC play type.

All theory and stuff of course, but I thought it'd be neat to talk about.

Well yes, they absolutely have to play around with the specials, hit boxes and such because Street Fighter's mechanics and stages are not designed in a way to accommodate Marvel comic characters' abilities. So they have to introduce "super" versions of Street Fighters when they appear in Marvel vs. games. It's been that way since the vs. series started with X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

That's what I kind of meant though. The "Super" versions don't feel super, they just feel like Shoto + Beam Cannon. I was pointing out that they could take it a step farther and actually put them in competition with the "higher tier" characters.

Actually, some Street Fighter characters might actually get love this time around on the tier list. With the current, playable build they have now, Chun Li is apparently very much beast. Some time ago, somebody said she was the best out of the whole cast. It wasn't just anybody that said that iirc. Had to be a Street Fighter tourney player or former MvsC2 tourney player i think.

There might be some hope this time around then. I was always upset to see the kind of treatment that characters got in 2, but that's largely because they were almost direct transfers from other games (sprites and all). So it'll be pleasant to see something fresh from old characters, if they do in fact do a nice overhaul on some of them.

I don't know how much Chun was changed from TvsC because i never played that but she is definitely nothing like MvsC2 for sure. Every video i see has her spamming lightning legs and opponents get caught in that over and over and over again. It must have stupid priority and hit box for it to work that well.

Her spinning bird kick looks insanely good, which is rare for that move to be used so often in any of her games (not saying it's bad, but usually more restricted to specific use).

In other news a picture of Haggar was leaked:

It does not exactly mean it's for MvC3 but it's a VERY strong piece of evidence as it fits the style and why else would we be seeing him? Also note the blueish object at the bottom left, some speculate megaman's arm. It's a stretch, but something to consider as it is confirmed at least one more megaman character will make the cut.

As for Seth, I doubt they'll give him too much. I assume they'll take his current abilities and expand on them. Air sonicbooms for sure and perhaps J.Hp will always be the Dhalsim j.hp. If they gave him ANY new ability I would hope it was absorbing them from an enemy with some kind of grab (dare I say he pulls an SSBB Kirby), I wouldn't bank on it with MvC2, but the weirdness of MvC3 totally wouldn't be against it. LvL 3...Teleport Grab?!?

They may also get clever and make Focus Attack a move with new commands specific to SSF4 characters. The mechanic would need some reworking, but it's totally doable. Most noted it would not be used to cancel moves, but used an absorbing hit that can charge up and cause stun.

Anyone have any clue when the monthly announcements may take place? We're still awaiting Novembers. If anyone knows what conventions or any other appropriate event would be a way to announce, post here!

Im gonna need some insignificant proof of this.

isthatyourdecision? prepareyourself!

it's pretty sad but I would prefer that guy to johnny bosch for zero. even though every time he says a sentence he makes it sound like a single word

Well Im not throwing this in the confirm pile yet, but it seems if you buy the collectors edition (69.99 US) you get a code that in 4weeks activates Jill And Shuma Gorath.

So...I was all happy for DLC, but I'm not a fan of the DLC shit where it's already on a disk. So while I will cough up that cash, i'm morally opposed to this.

[EDIT] - So it's not as bad as it may seem. While still "meh" on Capcom's end...it seems the collectors edition gives you instant access to the characters, and 4 weeks later everyone else gets them...hopefully for free.

I dunno. Im pretty confidant megaman will appear. I assume some of these fake rosters are close, but none have the list fully correct.
