Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Hmm, Capcom's solution to releasing a notoriously unfinished/broken game? Release a new one that will be even more fundamentally broken/unfinished then the first in all likelihood, then forget about the old one and obsolete it within a year of its release... Good going guys /sarcasm...

On the + side Ghost Rider... I'd have paid for him (not that he shouldn't have been in from the beginning), could not care less about Racoon's, even with ambiguous titles, RPG wielding or whatever, and puff the magic dragon or whatever the hell it's called... The reason you have DLC characters or costumes is so you can pick and choose what you want or don't want... And I couldn't see myself spending that amount in the long run on DLCs anyway, not unless some miracle happened and they were all characters/costumes I wanted to play as/in...

I say the sweeping changes will not be a fix for the stick the game already gets for being 'broken', I see why they might want to keep MVC3 clear of such radical changes that could be more trouble then they're worth as simple updates though. But personally, I don't like the sound any of this... Well except 'Ghost Rider'

Can't believe they have Frankie G for top 32 in the fantasy bracket when I dominated him way worse than JWong ever will. =/

Whoa. Watching that Evo stream, I didn't know know one of the guys I scuffed up was that Kurasa (sp?) guy too.

Lulz. 'Frankie never switches his team'! That's a complete fuckin' lie! He probably didn't even think about Trish until he played me. The way he plays with her is funny, though, considering the compliment he gave me was, "You play a sick ass keepaway game with her." But whatever works, I guess.

I hear the kid used hulk, I also hear he pretty much destroyed people with simple st.H st.S combo's. If that's the case then people have no hulk knowledge and froze up against hulk. Good job for the kid for getting top 50 and proving that hulk is a solid character.

Alright so I did actually get a chance to go to Evo on friday if only for a few hours before I had to head back to SoCal. Must say that I really regret not playing on my arcade stick more as I didn't really get a chance to play well when I hopped on UMVC. I played some people that were winning a lot and I think that if I would of had a ps3 pad I could of been winning for hours.

Also had the chance to sign up for a side tourney and I lost in the first round, it sucked. They spent like 20 minutes looking for a pad so I could play on after they bugged me to join. Then they get me a ps2 control that had an input delay. I did the best I could and got bodied by a phoenix team, it sucks when you know you can win and shit doesn't work. I had like 3 snap back opportunities each round and I the input would come out late or not at all and I couldn't snap in that bitch. I did win one round but I was bothered by the whole thing for ride home. Least I know that I could of gone pretty far in the side tourney if I was actually prepared to play.

To me, it was actually terrible that the little kid got that far (and even blocked better than most of the players there, to boot. -.-;). When they streamed his first couple of matches, I was thinking, "Okay...he's beating some random scrubs...random WolverineXAkuma scrubs, but scrubs nonetheless." Then...he beat RoyalFlush, who was supposed to be a decent TvC player... It wasn't so much that he beat him but the fact that I swear the little boy did about thirty thousand J.S's in a row uncontested... -.-;

Really, it's kinda sad that the same people you hear talking about tier this and imbalance that don't even understand the fuckin' BASICS of the game yet they're unbelievably quick to 'tierwhore' and learn as many combos as they can. Honestly, they should all quit fighting games.

^ This. Honestly I just hope people don't go jumping on hulk now. I don't want people telling me about a character I've played since the game came out.

So I hear that most of his matches went this way... WTF ARE YOU SERIOUS? If I would of played then I would of got top 48 too hell since I know wtf I'm doing I might of even placed higher.

Now I hear people talking about how cheap hulk is LOLZ, the more I read the most it seems like the MVC community is full of idiots.

It was agonizing how few good Akuma's and Taskmasters were being used. Only like 2 in the top 32 knew what they were doing with them on point...and as for Wolverine...how the fuck were people missing so many combos with him?!?!?!?!??! And why did I not see any tornado claw loops? I saw a lot of good play on setting up combos with wolverines but just everyone doing stupid things once they got the combo started.

Why do tornado claw combos when you can do challenge mode combos with little variations and less room for error to the same effect? >_>

The funny thing about Noah winning is that his team outside of Wesker in the back is completely based on characters that you can beat by blocking. He won because people dont want to block. The same reason why Sentinel was winning in February. People didn't want to block.
There's no excuse to lose to an 8 year old who did zero mix ups with characters that already struggle for mix ups without assists. This is on top of the fact that he never called assists ever and always up tagged. Step your game up next year.

This is from someone on SRK.

Doing 2 loops is fairly easy, Does more damage than DHC, you get to keep Wolv on point, and you don't have to blow X factor to kill (which is HUGE and my main reason for arguing it's use). While I say just do lvl 3...when you have 2 meter why not? The first hit off the OTG is brainless and if you screw up the 2nd hit you are often safe. I saw a lot of wolverines either not finishing opponents off because they didn't want to DHC for the kill or wasting X-factor when they had the resources to get a kill through meter. And this was in general, not just the tornado claw loop. Lot of wolverines were dropping easy things and not using meter/x-factor intelligently.

I'm not an amazing wolverine player, but I know enough to raise an eye brow to a lot of the decisions people made and while there are mistakes that occur under the pressure...there was just too much with every player I was seeing. A lot of amazing play on point to get the damage and then bad decision making and execution on the hit.

It was really weird because except for the Taskmasters and 2 of the Akumas in top 8, most were not very good and were really carried by AMAZING play on their other cast. It was baffling to see such incredible Weskers, Dantes, Amaterasu, and Magnetos...and then not be able to control these characters well. Like how the hell do you screw up Wolverine combos repeatedly and then do those insane Dante combos we were seeing?!?!?

My favorite player by far was the Spiderman in top 32. Was very sad when he got eliminated. And that White Wesker in top 8 was INSANE!

Also any insight on that Zero/Phoenix/Tron team?!? Me and my friends could not think of why the hell he would use Phoenix 2nd and Tron as anchor. Too little room to build meter and makes it so killing Zero is an easy way to get phoenix in rather than snapping her, Tron is a bad anchor if phoenix goes down, Phoenix doesn't need Tron assist...like he was really good but this team order was puzzling.

As for the kid, he was really good for his age, and we were definitely WTF'ing over how people were getting destroyed by j.S spam...but I thought his sentinal was pretty legit. He wasn't doing the big combos, but he was playing pretty smart. Really I don't see a reason to cut him down, but there was definitely some dumb mistakes that allowed him to get as far as he did. But if it works....it works.

This game has made the whole world a little bit dumber.

No, this game just showed that the world has always been dumb.

I think the reason that people were dropping combos were probably because the majority of the people who participated in evo, were probably online players thinking they were legit. People don't realize how much online play fucks up your game offline. I really do regret not signing up for Evo after watching how well that kid did.

Still it was a big case of one character was super technical and doing risky combos with a lot of areas to drop being performed beautifully...and then we get to an easy character like Wolverine and they're afraid to do really simple things much less just do the easy BnB. Like no one should ever miss a Wolverine combo more than once or twice in a match, I get that the game is fast and there's high pressure, but Wolverine combos are stupid easy as long as you keep in mind the starter for hit stun reasonings or forgetting how many dive kicks you did.

I don't disagree about the Wolverine thing; I was just saying that's going to be people's logic when they think about something like that. I've said before that most combos in the game take around ten minutes to get down (though, if you know others, possibly longer to actually apply in matches).
