Vader/Yoda announced for PS3/360!

Are Vader and Yoda now legal for tourney competition?

how would they be allowed... looking at the xbox terms of service. unless the tournament host buys vader and puts it on their system no one can really bring him along. if he was free and didnt have all these silly restrictions then i would say yes though.

Anyone can bring a 360 hardrive with him. .

IDK how PS3 works. . .

thats true but thats also assuming that the internet is working because according to what i read, you also need to sign into xbox live if its not on the first system it was installed on.

IF that's the case then I would suppose the only way it'd work out would be if the person brought their actual console with them.

Again how would this work out on the PS3?

On the PS3, you'd buy Vader from the store and he'd be installed/unlocked on the system and there you go.

It wouldn't.

Yes, it would be up to the tourny organizers to both have the game and have already downloaded the character.

Or in other words, eveyone who supplies a PS3 has to have already bought the little green man.

I don't really care if they are banned or not. If people want to use terrible Yoda, the only thing it will be is slightly annoying. Vader is actually decent, i wouldn't mind seeing him in tournies.

Unless they become free, I thought it was pretty much inevitable that neither are accepted in tournaments.

As much as I hate Yoda, I'd assume they'd both be legal as they don't shoot bubbles -=cough=- and are accessible for both consoles now. Hooray for Vader though.

Just fought Vader twice. I beat him pretty soundly, despite not knowing his moves, so either he sucks as a character, or the people playing him suck (With him, at least). I'm thinking it's the latter.

I honestly don't think anyone will use Vader/Yoda in SERIOUS tournament play either way, so why not allow every character to be used...
I still feel sorry for you PS3 guys who are picking up Yoda today(If You Choose)...
In comparison, Vader is like Christmas to 360 players, and Yoda is like income tax time...............And you OWE BIG TIME...

You honestly can't expect people who pick up Vader in one day to possibly learn him...But I'm sure Vader's a little weak in comparison to other characters (Non Star Wars)...So expect the Vaders to get a little tougher later on down the line...But for first day downloads, don't expect much...I think people now are just picking him in a way of saying, "I have a new Star Wars character and he's NOT Yoda"...lol...

haha i fired my ps3 up earlier and most of the first matches were all yoda fights on the new stage... i havent bought yoda myself but i saw a little bit of him, all i can say is its hilarious watching him get smacked around in combos. i pretty much just steam rolled him with bullrush alone though (lol) but was a little disappointed that i couldnt low grab him with asta :(

vader is a very dull fight imo, people who ive seen who were mildly successful with him literally had a movelist that would fit on one hand

I hate NB. $5 for a character that should be free. I'm taking my anger out on anyone who uses Yoda tonight.

I just now saw yoda today on the PS3 version and I was shocked and that short bastard pissed off being as small as he was and I had to readjust my whole game just for him and I always hated the fact that i can't grab him at all.

Yeah, the arguments of cost don't really hold up when you consider how much people spend on sticks and traveling and such. I say allow them. Who knows, you might get Star Wars fanboys interested in tournaments...I remember all these Nintendo kids back in the day who wanted to play SC2 then got bummed out once they found out they couldn't use Link. You'd be surprised how many tournament players started out something like this.

I don't see a need to screw with Yoda's default settings. The soul gauge was clearly intended to be a balancing factor; Namco just did a shitty job with that, but that's nothing new to fighting games.

I finally got my ass kicked by Vader (Although the guy admitted to knowing his moves). I didn't know his BB could do that.

I fought my first Vader today (didn't even know he came out). I happened to chose Yoda. They had unique quotes for each other at the beginning of the fight which was a nice touch-- Yoda's pre-match quotes get repetitive after a while.
