I agree with this man, not that I was pulled into SC by Link or anything...QUIT LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!
 
Played Vader for the first time last night. Got my ass handed to me, but he's not bad. And much more fun that Yoda.

I agree with no ban on these guys.
 
I don't see a point in banning either of them. They're clearly not top-tier, but I was surprised by Yoda. He's clearly the worst character in the game, but he seemed better than most people give him credit for. I'd be curious to see if there are any good Yoda players out there.
 
BTW, Vader's 6B, B:G, A+B = BAD ASS! Also, 2A+B kicks teeth in, without physical contact! PS3 was obviously the favorite system while deciding who gets what.
 
LoL i bought vadar lastnight... Hes MUCH more fun to play than Yoda or the Apprentice IMO... I like his style of play... If i ever choose a slow character I think it will be him actually... He just seems godly the way he pics you up throws you around stabs you chokes you bodyslams you out of the ring... haha I actually like a star wars character for once.... Weird...

Something Lau was talking to about to me in flashchat was Zasalamel. Range+2 unblockable lows pretty much destroys Yoda.


Pretty much if Yoda doesn't get patched you can just counter pick Taki or Zas. and win easily.

Add in Kilik, Sig, NM, Asta, Mina, Rock, Cerv, etc. Yoda's bad.

Anyway, I picked up Vader last night. After messing with some of his moves, he doesn't seem to be that bad. He's kinda slow, but has some force moves that are quick. In the right hands, I think he could be a beast. I would've rather had him than Yoda from the beginning, though.

I still don't like Star Wars.
 
I thought the stage that comes with Yoda was cool. I only came across one Yoda user last night, so I just beat his face in with Sophie. Since Yoda is weak as hell and most people on the 360 will pick up Vader, they both should be legal.
 
Vader is fun vs. players that don't shake a lot of his stuns.

6BB:G, BB, 44B+K, 2B+K, 2[A+B], 4A+B, 6A+B (straight out of his forum). Something like 98 damage, more if they try to tech after 2[A+B]. I still think he's low tier, but getting a group of people in playermatch to call him overpowered is priceless.

Since you have to pay to have these characters they will probably never be allowed.
 
*waves due to this being my first post*

Since I haven't seen the following mentioned anywhere (and if it has, I apologize in advance)...

Getting Vader for the X360 version does something significant in addition to adding Vader to the roster. Before adding Vader, you would only see half of the Apprentice's ending. In order to see the epilogue of him being choked by Vader, you needed to have the PS3 version. After getting Vader for the X360 version, the Apprentice's complete ending with him getting choked by Vader becomes viewable.

On a minor note, adding Vader also allows you to buy his other lightsabers in character creation. (At least I got to spend some of the gold I no longer needed, heh.)
 
Wait, do people get the new stage when they buy vader or yoda or is it just unlocked for everyone through a patch or something?
 
pretty sure you only get the stage if you buy the char but it won't stop you from playing on it online just like playing against other people who bought vader/yoda when you didn't.
 
I see no reason to ban these character now that everyone at least has the chance to prepare themselves for the matchups. The problems with banning character's it that you are eliminating an entire move set. I can't say I was particularly fond of NB bringing star wars characters into SC, but after playing as vader a little I really like his move set and could care less who he is. Also any serious player who really want to play SC at a competative level is going to make sure they have the full cast and almost anyone who uses their 360/PS3 in a tourney is going to make sure they have everything in the game. While im on the topic I don't really get algols ban either. The sisters are far more devestating and no one want's to ban them. I think people have this natural stigma towards boss characters in fighting games, but not every boss character is broken and I think algol is an example. Yeah his purple balls are annoying, but there not so good that spamming them equals instant victory.
