Viola Combo & Tech Trap Discussion

.... oh dear.

6B+K 3K (orb Hit) B+K BE 6[A+B] (slight) 2B+K BE 66B 2B+K BE 66B 2B+K BE AAB 66B 66A+BB ... 235 damage

6B+K 3A(yeah... step coutner set up) (orb hit) B+K BE etc 225.

CH 6AB B+K BE etc etc 227

You also end the combo with almost 50% of your meter back.

Why? :|

Anyone else notice how hard it is to get the 2B+K BE after 66B? I set the ukemi to left and they can ukemi out of it 90% of the time. Either the timing is incredibly strict or i'm doing something wrong. It just doesnt seem practical for such a small window to perform the 2B+K BE.

It's inconsistent, and I'm not sure if it's simply because it's a 1-2 frame window, or if it's just completely a random property. However, it isn't techable to my knowledge if their head is facing you.

So yeah, you can force this situation with stuff like I did to get that old 240 B+K BE glitch combo:

B+K BE, step a bit to viola's right, 2A+B 2B+K BE AAB 8K <-- that puts them in the right position on the next 2B+K.

Still have to try it out in all the places I found to force pickups like this, though. Just don't have my PS3 around here, so dunno when I'll get to it.

Could you try buffering the 66B with a 33/996 B? Stepping around while they are airborne seems to mess with their back facing position

I dunno about the 33_99 stuff. Mostly because I'm not sure if you'd be able to move far enough to the side if you tried this.

Stepping while airborne is tricky, but you CAN do it consistently with practice.

Well I do know that any thing that air hits into a ground slide against an opponent who was launched from back turned puts their head facing you. I also know that from the 2b+k be hit there is a window for stepping because if you 66B too soon from the back turned re launch you end up too close to them and 66B slides under them. Theory fighter sugests that if you are quick and have good execution (which I don't, as evidenced by my recent and accidental appearance on stream.. hate my life) you might be able to quick step left/right between each 66B. Someone who's actually good at this should test it lol

Variety is the spice of life. Also looping the same move over and over is a wonderful way to annoy the piss out of people. Pluss with clean hits I belive this is the highest potential damage? If not its the same as looping 6A+B 2B+K BE B+K which also can be very tight execution. Also, unlike said loop, u can end with 66B 66A+BB which gives more meter as a combo finisher

They are all death comobos though so I guess no one has to care. Swagg points are always a pluss though imo.

If BT B+K comboed off of air hit 1B I would use it all the time for swag points. It would just look so fancy. I like to use 44B as a combo ender too. If its going to kill them that is. Idk there's something to be said for flasheyness

44B is still a good ender. No idea why people have completely forgotten about it.

lol if im going for swag points, B+K BE, B+K BE 66B 2B+K B+K BE lol just a fun thing

No, I meant in a practical sense. 2B+K BE B+K 44B gives a sort of oki that you can't really get with any other ender, and TBH, the more you keep your opponent guessing, the better IMO.
