Here are mine -
Staples(AA, BB, 2A, 2K, Throws... Stance doesn't matter)
66_6:6B
3BB
B+K_[B+K]
2A+B
CR B
CR A+G_B+G
1K_[K](Doesn't matter which stance)
BS 1A
44B_

I think that's about it

my opinion, off the top of my head

2a+b
1K
CR K
66:B (JF or otherwise)
3BB
BS 1A
BS CR B
BS A+B
66K

huh. I'm having a really hard time settling on a tenth move. CR B is good but I just don't *like* the move. Not particularly fond of it. If I can't pick BB, I guess I'd go with 4A+K

I'd like to add 3A to my list, simply because I found myself really needing a step killer against some of the players and/or characters I've been playing, and 3A filled that role beautifully, as a lot of my horizontals are duckable.

Off my head (ignoring staple-moves) top-9:

66K - Awesome, mixup BS-throw/1K on hit. Puts player on CH (BS Throw will work fine if you expect WS B-move. Risky though). So good.
4A - Good on block, goes BS.
1[k] - Ofcourse
2A+B - Awesome move. Also great oki.

6:6B - So good punisher. Honestly, I think people need to get better at punishing. I see top-players not even punishing Asura Dance.
A+B - Goes under High. Damaging. Safe. LOVE this move. Underused.

BS 1A - Not to spam, can be blocked on reaction. Great though as it has awesome range, damaging and make Voldo evade so many attacks.

BS Throws - One of the reasons I picked him. LOVE his stepping. Evades so good.

Honorary:
4K - Good move to get into stances.
3B,B - Not safe, but almost to abuse when your opponents Soul Gauge is low.
CR B_K - CR B for RO. Good oki-moves.
BS FC B - For BS-ROs

In no particular order..

a+b
b+k nice quick strike on single hit (will fuck up mitsu no end) (b+K) :- where possible
2a+b
3b,b
1(k)
6,6k
cr, b
bs wr a
3a
6,6b

2A+B catches step left. Voldo's very weak against step to the right, pretty much the only things that reliably stop step right are 22_88A and AA. Throws also track step in this game, that's usually what I rely on.

whats the best step punisher for Voldo?

The best one I can think is 3A off the top of my head

Stupid question, and I'm just too tired right now to test it myself (though if nobody answers I'll do so later tonight)

When you say it tracks left step, do you mean it tracks if your opponent moves to Voldo's left, or if your opponent moves to *their* left (i.e. Voldo's right)

I wasn't very clear. It catches step to the opponent's left, or Voldo's right. Also, 3A does not catch step. Maybe it catches step in the same direction as 2A+B, but I know opponents have stepped my 3A to their right (Voldo's left) numerous times.

How could it not catch step? It's a symmetrical move with him bringing his claws in from both sides and meeting in the middle

Nobody (so far) that I've used it on has been able to outstep it

This game has all sorts of hitbox issues dude. Things that look like they should hit randomly whiff. I am not home to test but I am 95% positive that you can step Voldo's 3A by stepping to your right. I have Taki players do this to me all the time.

Huh, well damn. I *hope* you're wrong, haha, but you seem pretty sure. We'll have to test it tomorrow night when my playgroup meets.

What are some good moves to use to punish with Voldo?

At i16, 6:6B would probably be the go-to punisher with voldo, and the non-just-frame version comes out of 33_99 as well so it's a fast whiff punisher.

Anything -19 and above I'd go with A+B.
