What is a good opening move?

the problem with 66A+B at round start is that you will be too far away for all hits to be blocked in the event they block it, so it will be really unsafe

So here's a list of Algol's opening moves:
1B - TC, changes hitbox...
66A - Fast, TC, kills step, it's a High but it's good...
3B - TC, amazing damage, deceptive range...
2A+B - Bubble retreat...
4[A+B] - On a lazy start...
BD! (back dash) - Fast and safe, avoids other starting attacks...
4B+K - A very fancy parlor trick, fun against the right opponent...
k6 - Another fun opener...

*I think that's about it*

how is this topic alive?

anyway...6A+B can be an ok starter sometimes because it can hit faster than 1B at this range and if they GI it you should be able to step right to dodge the bubble and be at frame advantage while they still in GI recovery

You should be aware of your matchups as well, diferent characters means different starting strategies, like against Mitsurugi he can close gaps pretty well with a couple attacks, 2A+B, 1B, BD work OK on him but I find guarding and punishing their opening to be pretty effective too...
