When/why did you decide to "git gud"?

I wanted to be competitive about some game. My brothers had their Starcraft and Halo 2, and I wanted to get good at something too. Then I was playing random Xbox games with my friend and came across SCII and remembered how much I loved fighting games, especially SC for the Dreamcast. Then I was like "man they shoulda made a SCIII" and one of my friends was like "dude, SC FOUR is coming out soon." I was like holy shit and I googled it and found out it would have online... omg. Playing a fighting game online sounded like the coolest thing ever. And if there's online, then there must be some competitive scene, I reasoned. So a month later I picked up the xbox version on launch day, dead set on being the king of online.

Then like two months later I found 8wayrun.com and I think someone linked Sirlin's Playing to Win website and then I became aware of offline scenes.

I decided to "git gud" from day one of SCIV.

Link 1 - You were a poor player with a poor connection to go with it.
Link 2 - I don't like messing around with <3 bars.
Link 3 - Do you even have a purpose for linking quotes of me or are you just ignorant?
Link 4 - I never play at 100%, i haven't played before i TD'ed with KC and was no where near my full potential. If you were reading what you posted i believe i already said that. KC agrees to PW saying they destroyed me the day after when what really happened is: i caught back up with myself and both PW&KC got easier after a couple of matches. A few hours later i told PW that i even held back a few rounds resulting in my lost to a match or matches and focused more on KC. But Alex you wouldn't know that because you like to take everyones sweetened words over what really went down.

I still to this day do not play at 100%, 90 at best. It's good enough to beat commoners like you. 100% nobody knows what that is and i really don't need it. The other 10% is on reserve until someone greater than me emerges, sadly that isn't going to happen. I'm at the point where if i win or lose is my decision alone as long as i don't disappear again and lose a fraction of my skill. If i fight with a 3 bar i really don't care what happens. If i lose to someone like Marginal it was my decision. if i take a month away from SCV and come back and lose it goes on video. Then people get scared to fight me then think i'm trash because i lost to so and so. And by time the trash talking starts i've probably already gathered a huge portion of my potential back from the break i took. Then who's going to go on video? "Nobody" Fenris? whos Mitsu i've killed with mitsu then cervantes, and even various times behind the scenes. Alex J wouldn't know nothing about that AlexJ needs a reality check.

Nice giant mass of excuses.

Seems legit.

By the time I get to the bottom of the thread I no longer know wtf the thread is about anymore. Did you guys miss your Ritalin today?

*looks at top of screen to remember what thread it is*.

I'm not convinced that I'm good. Without a consistently good offline setting there is no way to know. So, for me, it's not a matter of choice, but rather a matter of opportunity.

Sure, I'd like to think I have some skill, but I'm tryin' real hard not to overshoot here.

"slightly better than free"

My first SC was SCII but really never got into it until SCIV, and I sucked. I remember the day so well too....
It was first or second time trying online and I had my all white Kilik and all black ninja Taki, and was kicking ass (so I thought). Then, here comes Eli123s, he kicked my ass so hard, I didn't even know what happened. I dont think he remembers me but I was determined to be like him. Soon or later I met Malek online, and I was so inspired by how good they were. I kept intouch with Malek but not Eli13s. Eli123s, do you remember me? My ID was h0806155

Idk if I should even bother playing anymore after getting pwned by DIME 21-3
There's no point in investing time in something you're not good at. :D
