World game cup 2010

I read this on the site about the world cup tournament. It says “Single elimination until the quarterfinals (Best 8)”.....If theres only 8 teams which is whats listed then what?

Also is the main singles event double elimination?

Friday's team contest : qualification pools and then, single elimination.

Solo contest : qualification pools and then, double elimination.

World Team Cup is single elimination.

Main single event is double elimination.

Question?

Are the maximum cash prizes guaranteed for each of the individual tournaments like it was believed before?

I'm asking because now I see an estimated cash prize at the bottom. The rules and payout seems to keep changing over the course of this tournament announcement and kind of under the radar.
 
SU afaik the Cash Prize is depending on the amount of players who register. Max Number of Players=Max. Cash Prize. I think Asenka wrote that also a few sites before....

10 euros is only if you pay via paypal, before the event. Most of the time, this is 10% of the total of registrations...

Another thing: Im really disturbed by the Name of the italian Team in 5vs5 :P
 
SU : The Pot will keep decreasing as more people register online.
Since paying on the spot is 15 Euros and paying online is 10 Euros.
The 3800 Euro pot was assuming that 256 people joined and all of them paid 15 Euros on the spot.
Realistically we should be looking at 2300 Euros instead..

I was under the assumption there was at the very least a set cash out for each tournament. Just like almost all tournaments do when they advertise pots/payouts.

Idlemind/G.A.M.M.E is a perfect example. Its all in clear bold text what is what.

I'm still going and am glad to go regardless but damn I swear the pots for these things are getting smaller down the line when it was advertised as 10.000 Euros. Things should have been set in stone like most tournaments.
 
The numbers for the World Cup was always based on the total max number of people who joined each respective tournament and not guaranteed, where as GAMME has a guaranteed pot bonus regardless of how many enter. It could have been a little clearer, but hey, the tournament is in another country.

Even so, the pot for SC4 singles would be over $2400 right now. Where else are you going to go to play Calibur for that much money? Plus there's still the 5 on 5 and whatever other tournaments you plan on entering in and money matches that you decide to take up. Just make sure you win.
