Soulcalibur V Results From Stunfest

The 8th edition of Stunfest is currently taking place in Rennes, France. The solo tournament for Soulcalibur V has concluded, but on Sunday, the finals for the 3 on 3 tournament will be streamed beginning at 3PM CET (GMT +1) / 9AM EDT.

MLG Spring Arena & Spring Championship Details

On Wednesday, MLG shared some some details on their next two upcoming events for fighting games. The first event which is the Spring Arena, will take place in their studio in New York City on April 28th and is an expansion on their Winter Arena event for Starcraft 2. At this event, the top 8 placers in Soulcalibur V and Mortal Kombat at MLG Columbus are being flown to New York to compete in a $3400 prize pool for each respective game.

The second upcoming event which is the Spring Championship, takes place on June 8-10th in Anaheim, California and will feature SCV, MK, and KOFXIII. Spectator passes are already available for sale where as competitor passes go on sale May 1st.

Namco Bandai World Wide Finals this Tuesday!

In case you haven't been paying attention, Namco Bandai has put together a "world championship" event. During the past month, players have been competing for a chance to be invited to the finals; even if they didn't know it! Eight of the best players in the world are being flown in to Las Vegas, in order to compete in this very exclusive event.

The event will be streamed by Team Spooky and will feature commentary from Mark "MarkMan" Julio from MadCatz and Rich "filthieRich" Bantegui from Namco Bandai. In addition to that, Namco Bandai has just released a teaser trailer for this event showing off the players who will be competing for that $10,000 prize!

Major League Gaming has uploaded their Soul Calibur V playlist from their Winter Championships 2012, which took place March 24th-25th. Although it's pre-1.02 patch play, you don't want to miss these high level matches in beautiful HD resolution provided by the professionals at MLG.

MLG and NCR falling on the same late-March weekend spiked the salt level here at 8wayrun.com to the point where it became comparable to the Dead Sea, but that was hardly the whole story. In fact, the most interesting result of MLG’s cartoonishly evil attempt to undermine SCV, the fighting game community, puppies, kittens, and classic American values like the nuclear family, was that we were treated to a side-by-side comparison of radically different games (patch versus pre-patch), different styles of doing things, and, ultimately, a truckload of entertaining SOULCALIBUR content. So, bearing that in mind, let’s consider what we learned.

NAMCO BANDAI Games is working with the community to deliver the SOULCALIBUR V World Championship 8-man tournament to compete for the title of World Champion!

The Event will be streamed on April 10th by TEAM SPOOKY with Play-by-Play commentary by Community Leaders Rich "filthieRich" Bantegui and Mark "MarkMan" Julio.
