Cervy Openers & Combos Discussion

Ah....you are absolutely right, For some reason there was no downscalin...so ha DONT use this combo :P

But 3A:B against Ivy should be right....
 
Did you test that on all Chars?? You know stuff like 3A:B~IGDR28B (Ground Hits9 just works on Ivy and other big chars!!

If yes, time to go back to 4A+K till people learn the JF Ukemi!

EDIT: Works on Kilik for 98, but just if you Hit him from the Front, if you hit side or Back ch 3Bs it wont work!
 
So i'm interested in picking Cervantes up. I think Nori and JOP may be on to something with his placing and i'm curious about these things since I don't have a PS3 and I can't tell what his damage is in SC4 since he received some buffs I heard and the combos on the first page do not list damage or which one is the best combo.

What is the best combo and damage from 2A+B (CH)?

for those that do not mind answering most appreciated!

1. iGDR 22B 8A+K(only if upside down and faceing you) iGDR 28B but unless they tech you getting about 64 dmg so i been doing something new for the non techers lately
2. CH 2A+B wrA aK now you have BT mixup, 3A+B also combos and leads into iWR A tech trap or 2B+K for nontechers
3. 66K well 11AA techs all directions and 22B catches back tech(if your thinking there not guna tech) but 11B is the most dmging garenteed dmg aside from near wall iGDR 28B
4. 3B 8A+K iGDR 28B 84-95 dmg(character specific), 3B iGDR 28B 65 dmg, 3B 8A+K 3A+B 53ish dmg, CH 3B
4A+K 2B+K 75ish dmg or instead of 2B+K iGDR 28B for 93-98 dmg(character specific), CH 3B 22B or 8A+B:B+K iGDR 28B 88 dmg but of the 8A+B:B+K you have the same tech options as CH 66K, CH 3B 22/88A W! varies on how high they are but you should go for 3B again to get a nice chunk,
5. 4A iGDR or 2A+B, bA bad move but iGDR will work and 66B/2A+B
6. 11B iGDR 28B 83+ dmg or 2B+K but thats like 60 i think
7. FC A+BBBBBBB is a amazing move definetly use regularly, in my opinion

i would really like to see what you would do with cervy considering there are like no good offline ones anymore besides maybe franman but idk i thought kowtow would have been amazing if he stuck with it

2. 2A+B (CH), iGDR, 22B, 8A+K, iGDR, 28B is not the most damaging option? Is it inconsistent in SC4 or something because I notice in works in SC:BD? If it doesn't or its inconsistent then I guess I will stick with the one u mentioned.
3. I'm not a tech trap person in SC (Tekken Definitely) so will just finishing with 11B after 66K (CH) be good enough?

I'm gonna attempt to make him hot! I notice him and Setsuka are the exact same in design and damage wise for the most part which I never noticed before so I just have to pick him up.
 
i play on pad too but i can do the FC A+BBBB plenty and im not sure if youve seen my combo videos but theyll show you the most dmging things to do in some situations here you go

and yes if you press G at the right time after a B+G grab(hard to do) 22/88B is garenteed for good dmg and delay the 28B in your combo enders a little and youll be left with a nice BT mixup

I can already tell Cervantes is gonna take a little more than average time to get down. Thanks for the videos and info as i'm gonna slowly attempt to master him.

Hates and I were the only 2 Cervantes players at Nats and you forget us. Sad face

SU: Cervantes is hard work, but I really feel he is top tier and won't change my mind on that. If you put enough time into him, you'll see what Hates/I/Jop see too:)

I believe u! I don't want to get into to much detail but let's just say that based on some intricate research on all things SC since SC:BD came out and I have been able to study the game on the go I am finding alot of things about this game that translate almost 100% to SC4.

Because of it at the moment top tier has changed for me and Cervantes is in it. That's all i'm going to mention as not to derail the thread and stir up that debate again.

ya the things you mentioned do more dmg but i dont think much more dmg and sorry nori i thought you and hates quit and whenever i see you playing someone the opponent doesnt seem to be very good so i dont know what to base your skill off of.
 
You base it off nearly every tournament I've entered, I've gotten top 3. Same w/Hates. You can also base it that because of Hates/I, people at Nats were able to see what Cervantes is really capable of. Pick one of them:)

Not sure if Hates quit or not, but I'm still playing.
 
im after some combo help. im having massive trouble doing iGDR, 22B, 8A+K, iGDR, 28B. i can get IGDR around 60% of the time at the moment (still practicing). but i can never get it after 8A+K, is there a delay or timing trick to get it?

i cant seem to get 28B after IGDR also, not that it maters cause i can never get the second one in a combo but do i delay the input after 214:B or do i do it almost instantly after the IGDR?

at point blank range is it beter to go for iGDR 22B, 8A+K, aB? ive noticed in vids people do 8A+K, 3A+B but im finding that the 3A+B wiffs a lot, is that a distance thing also or have i just not got the timing down yet?

with FC A+B, mash b. is there a follow up if it hits not near a wall, if its blocked what are the main mixup options for this?

When doing the iGDR after 8A+K i generally wait until he's practically finished the move completely and then just do the motion !fast!

As for getting th 28B to come out, it is only the 236:B that is fastest input. The problem i had was i done the whole thing as fast as i could. Input the 28B as Cervy is sliding along the ground. There is a timing to it because, when i try it and input 28B too early but late enough it comes out he whiffs it, which leaves you quite open.

Also I apologise in advance as I am by no means a Cervy player, I just like Just Frames lol. So, don't take my word for anything.
