I'm not sure whether to get the UMD or ISO... this is the first game I actually want to hold in my hands as a UMD, honestly... maybe I should buy it-- that's what we're all meant to do anyway. xD The thing about the iso deal is the firmware and size and all that. I got no idea about firmwares but I heard that SCBD runs on a firmware that hasnt been cracked/released yet. Also, on Soul Archives, their blog states that 260MB is needed to install the game alone.

i got an 8 gig mem stick... it should be fine...

however, i'll probably just end up buying the UMD.
hoping that Namdai Bamco will make a SCV... soon... =\

If you get the UMD however, the firmware will update using its official method (what ever that is) which is something I dont think you can do if your PSP is modded. I'm not sure what'll happen if you update using the official updates but I'm guessing it'll brick your PSP or at least prevent you from playing the games.

Not sure if we're allowed to talk about this here.

I assume it's fine to talk about PSP hacks for now, since I haven't seen any rules against it and nobody's asking where to find ISOs (the only illegal part).

The way updates work is it'll ask you first; if you try to play a game that runs on more recent firmware, it'll tell you that and offer to update. If you have custom firmware and BD does require an update, I'm pretty sure you'll have to wait for a new version of CFW to be released. I've heard of a homebrew app that tricks games into thinking you're running later firmware than what you actually have installed, but I've never looked it up.

So youre gonna use a dual shock while you look at the small ass PSP screen?

Man where in the hell is the damn port....

mmm... so theres no way of playing this if you have a modded PSP?

The word is that you will have to update to the latest official firmware, then the game will update you again to at least 5.55. 5.55 employs firmware verification to ensure your running legit copies of games. 5.55 is already on GI Joe but is not a web release yet.

Furthermore, there are apparently no plans for hacking 5.55 because the PSP Go will ship with 5.7, which is what they are planning as the next CFW release. Things could change based on demand though. Might not be M33 but GEN that releases 5.55

So no, when its released, there will probably be no way of playing it on modded firmware. This will change if/when perhaps a patch is made to the game itself, or a 5.55+ CFW is released. But if you want to play it on day 1, your likely gonna need OFW on your PSP. For some PSPs (pandora proof ones), this could mean losing your mod permanently.

Just not as soon as the game's out. You might have to wait a few weeks-- well I'm not exactly sure how long these things take, I havent updated my firmware since last year. xD
