Is this game worth buying a PSP for?

...so yeah, I bought XBox 360 because I simply could not go another day without playing the latest Tenchu game and Ninja Gaiden II (albeit one was extremely average and I think you can guess which). I've never owned a handheld of any type ....errr, handheld game that is *looks around nervously*. But I am now a Soul Calibur junkey. Do you believe that Broken Destiny is worth going out and dishing out some green for a new system just to play one game? I mean, where will I play a handheld unit (you know what I am talking about so get your mind out of the gutter). I have my own place so when playing I am on a console. It's not like I can never be on it. I appreciate your thoughts :) ...and you know I will probably buy it anyway, heh heh.

im gonna say no, in uk psp's are still pretty expensive. aside from the new chars i dont see any reason to get this, and personally i think the new char is a douche.but if your an sc nut with cash to spare then sure, or if you got alot of spare time without access to your console. but to be honest i never understood why namco made this game as they seem to have left sc4 out in the cold. ps. i heard someone say sc4 is getting a patch soon, is this true?

The mustache dude is definitely a douche and losing to him would ruin my day :D. The other dude might be cool. The small screen is a negative. SC4 patch? I'm getting warm fuzzies just thinking about it.

I've been thinking about this myself. I wouldn't get a PSP for just this game unless you really need to play SC on the go.

The PSP Go and this would be something to consider which is what I am currently contemplating because I like the smaller size. The size of the original PSP is one of the reasons why I haven't bought one now. The other thing is that it's going to cost significantly more than the PSP-3000 model if you decide to go that route.

But if you are really hardcore and can afford it, go for it. You'll probably end up wasting the money on something else anyway, so it might as well be on Soul Calibur. I'm thinking I am just going to wait and see what happens with the console version since I'm not dropping anymore money for video games right now.

Well, not sure what to do. My wife is taking the PSP to law school with her because she's taking my youngest daughter with her. Thus, I will be PSP'less. Do I buy another one? I do play it during the school year to kill time with a variety of titles, my music, and the occasional web browse. So I do use my PSP a lot, and I will want to play this one, so I might buy a new one.

I already had a PSP. For SC, I've picked up another one, because I want to make sure I can get my multiplayer on at will, and because the newer PSPs can output to TV, and because the newer lighter PSPs are much more comfortable in my hands. SC will almost certainly (possibly already confirmed) play multiplayer off a single disc, but I'll still buy two copies to minimize load times, and to make sure I can access all the content. (PSP Tekken restricted single-disc multiplayer to one stage, and had long load times when anyone changed characters.)

Depending on what it can do, I may buy a PSP Go too. Maybe two.

Well aren't we Mr. Disposable Income? Can you get me one too? Pretend it's your 4th one for super multiplayer!!! ;)

In the realm of the obsessive collectors, it's relatively cheap to be the Soul Calibur guy. I know people who sink real fortunes into collections that are, when expressed as percentages toward their goals, pitiful.

Plain and simple, NO.

You're going to buy a psp and Broken Destiny for what? 2 new characters, a couple new stages, and minor gameplay tweeks?

That's called an update, not a different game.

Also the ability to play Soul Calibur anywhere, instead of phone Peggle. That's a big deal. And it has what looks to be the most interesting story mode since Soul Blade.

Depends on how much you like SC :)

You could wait a bit, if there's going to be a console port, its certainly not going to be announced before the psp version is out, they wouldn't want to cannabalize their own sales by doing that.

is it REALLY worth buying?

i dunno if its just me but it looks alot like soulcalibur 4 apart from tht new clown guy and Kratos oh and the background of some of the stages.

:)

Everyone seems to be forgetting that it's on PSP and that means you dont have to be pasted to your TV to play SC anymore. Yay? I honestly dont care that it looks like a SCIV clone, just let me play it on the train and during maths class plz.
