Soul Calibur 4 National Results

Props to the Hilde raper called Something Unique, he didn't beat Hilde players, he raped them.

Well, I at least want people to know the truth before I hear anymore comments about anything related to anti-Hilde/Hilde killers.

The following day at the NVGA international tournament, I did beat Something Unique with Hilde 2-0 on wall stages.

I also beat him 10-4 after the tournament. When the count was 9-4, he dropped Kilik to play me with Hilde.

I even took a picture of it:

Nonetheless, we need more people like SU who rises to the occasion for a good challenge. If he didn't have Thuggish as a thorn in his side, he could've very well took those tournaments to easily become one of the best players in the world. In fact, he has already achieved this status due to his ability to consistently place top 4 at these tournaments.

In the beginning, he had a weakness against Astaroth players. But now he destroys them. I'm sure that he'll figure Amy out soon to become the best.

btw, Props to Thuggish! Way to rep!

Lol Good shit RTD!

That's why i'm 100% convinced your the best Hilde without question giving me hard times on wall stages.

However don't forget casuals is casuals. Here's why; Omega beat me in casuals 5-3 but lost in the tournament 2-0; Ceirnian almost beat me in casuals 5-4 but lost in the tournament 2-1; JTO raped me in casuals right after u 3-0 but lost in the tournament 2-0 (However JTO is a special case as he no longer plays this game and I would prefer to fight him when he is completely back in it); Malek has been beating my ass in casuals since he arrived in the states (something like 65-35) but lost to me overall in MM's 3-2 and the NVGA tournament 2-1. Saitoh beat in casuals 10-3 but lost to me in a MM 5-3. Kayane evened with me in casuals but lost to me in the tournament 2-0. The major difference is u beat me in the NVGA tournament.

I also say your Hilde is better than Ceirnian's no offense to him but that's also because I beat his Hilde 2-0 Hilde vs. Hilde in that set but u on the other just raped my Hilde that last match in our set.

We never got the chance to do the MM that I always shine at and u sure as hell no doubt in my mind adapted fast and beat me in NVGA 2-0 but the rounds were down to the wire.

Regardless what I can say is this. I do feel like I am the Hilde Killer because it was under so much pressure but if u asked me how I would do against u in a future tournament I would say it would be a toss up either way. I mean your RTD.

Please make it to GU so we can test that battle again. We are also required to do a ft5 exhibition match with whom we choose. Let's settle it both ways. IdleMind will help u get there no doubt.

So to clarify Me vs. You imo is a toss up. Let's confirm!

That is the hottest pic ever. Your words I believe was I sold my soul! Hot shit!

I gotta come out there just to chill with u, Wing, JTO, BigBoi! Yall fit my lifestyle.

Finally yes Thugish seems to be my final boss in fighting games. This asshole has beaten me in both the Nationals and NVGA 3-0 in the tournaments and 4 times in both Chicago tournaments 4-0. I will get his ass one day.

Most importantly though I am most happy that I have solidified myself in this game as top 5 definitely.

I don't understand the reasoning to people thinking that Nats was more competitive than Evo. Evo had the same exact people... PLUS more.

I'm also looking at few of the people who ranked high at Nats, who had more trouble at Evo and didn't do that good at Evo.

How come Oofmatic isn't listed there? This is Nationals right? Didn't he eliminate Kayane?

NEwayz just wanna say congrats to the top placers. I hope your soul still burns for upcoming major tournies (hopefully that still is gonna happen).

franman, I signed up as "master Vader". And I didn't eliminate Kayane, I sent her to losers. RTD eliminated her.

SU... when I played you hilde I was trying out fancy shit just because I wanted to show you some stuff. I even told you this when we started playing. I know how to beat Hilde and it certainly isn't me running at you on an open stage trying to step c3a just to look cool. Though if you want to take so much stock in casuals then you can also mention how I beat your kilik 4-3. The more I played you the more I figured you out and was able to take you down.

You beat me in a tournament, I give you props for that and you are a good player. But come on man, don't start down this road.

SU and Nori: haha good shit guys!

As for the best Hilde, I don't know yet. Ceirnian beat me in a tournament and I beat him. And we both got eliminated by the same players at Evo and Nats. We'd really have to play in more tournaments together to figure that out.

Casuals and MM's mean nothing it's only the tourney that matters. Everyone plays hard but no one cares who wins in casuals. People try but it's not real. I might take a MM that is $100+ serious as a tourney cause that's not just money to be thrown away but alot of the time I do lil MM to get some warm up for a tourney lol.

And from SU's summary of casuals / MM's it just seems like people played each other to the point of "player a" figuring out "player b" which would explain the static way of placings. Currently though we have the top 8 players of the first go round of SC4 and to those players I do tip da hat.

EVO I would say had much more array of comp just there was 4 different tournaments rather than ALL the players in one bracket which would've been just nasty :)

I know this might sound silly to some for whatever reason, but isn't it a bit early to be saying who the heck is the best in the world in this game?..you would have to play every single person in the world that plays this game in 1 yrs time to do that from the way of how some of you think/believe...and thats is MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!!.. i mean, sure look at tourney results, sure look at who is at the top of the ladder, but this is ONLY the 1st yr this game has been out, check this... in TekkenDR people looked mad good at the beginning and they were dominating with characters like mishimas/Gordo/Ling etc, which they were great players but.... once people knew what was up(over a 3-4 yr span of true dedicated players)..it all changed and so didn't the characters that were winning the big events, then when others joined in and started to really focus and train to the extreme, those results changed at the very end of it all.. sure some of those characters were still at the top in placings or whatever..but none the less, it changed.

I beat OOF in casuals and he also beat me....could you see an outcome of this?, could you tell who would win in tourney match?..of course not, it would be impossible.. a players confidence could be there strength or weakness...i also lost to Belial as well, i actually didn't beat him at all(and only played him once)..but showed in my rusty character attempt way that i could at least punish and win a round here and there(not set), though it just isn't enough to make a true call on anything.. i am quite confident that(if i got to) maybe i(or others) could have beaten those that placed high(but lets get a 1st to 10-20 and go with those results(and the players would have to use their 2 top characters they use) ,..at EVO..i have shown players all around that i can hold my own and have defeated a few of the all around top ladder/tourney placers from other states one way or another(even outside of EVO) and other players have done just that too, but 1st things 1st, accept defeat and learn from mistakes ...this is how it is better determined on who is the best/better and why..keep track of score over the long haul(not just the 1st damn yr the game has been released), anyone thinking like that isn't in it for the long run and is only trying to prove something so fast when that's not how its done and really nothing to prove that way...nothing

I'm not gonna take away from those that have won mad tourneys and earned and placed really high at EVO/Nats, but to the others.. please do not fool yourself, give it time, things will change, i promise,... i mean, some act like SC5 is coming out next week and had to prove something before its release!, lol...just trying to make make proper sense of things...anything result of now is ONLY atm...please do not take this offensive or in the wrong way, i guess you could call it an "observation" at best.

a quote from the Rolling Stone's tune(Time)~"time is on my side, yes it is"...and this quote holds true in the world of gaming..prove me wrong.

Ceirnian:

Casuals are not worth talking about in general almost for the exact reason that NinjaCW mentioned. No matter how hard u attempt to play your best to be honest your simply not. There is absolutely no pressure for no money, no bragging rights, etc. and mentally the players mind is just out of his control to some extent because u do find yourself unintentionally trying things out.

Personally everyone can figure my kilik out as its pretty obvious. Its the execution I lay down when its time that matters. My Kilik is not sneaky in the slightest.

I was waiting to let loose at Nats though to be honest so i'm happy I placed top 3 and more importantly I felt bad for not making it to Evo. However because my bracket was 6 out of the top 8 at Evo and Malek was later in my bracket at NVGA making that 7 I don't feel bad for missing it. Just based on that alone I feel i'm on par with the best or better. Don't confuse how I think as cocky i'm just happy and honestly everyone strives to be the best.

IMO though I think almost all of the top 10 in the states from here on out will be a toss up in future tournaments. GameUnicon is the next big thing so thats where we can see who edges each other out more or less. I look forward to the pressure again.

As far as the Hilde thing goes its just that I want to know who has the better Hilde between u and RTD. Its a personal interest and to be honest i'm not 100% sure yet. That's all!

NinjaCW:

I disagree on the whole MM don't mean nothing though as it has been a mainstay for anything serious outside of tournaments. Though I would agree that playing for something like 5 dollars is weak. In my eyes $20 or more is where its at.

I forgot who in the SF community does it but I think its Daigo FT3 (20) FT5 (50) FT10 (100). That shit ain't nothin to laugh at. I have a number of $20 Matches but I also have weak $10 ones. I think i'm gonna follow daigo's method from now on. I'm just a thirsty competitor.

S-U...

i agree to an extent, though..RTD and Ceirnian both would have to sit down(non online atmosphere) and duke it out(at the minimum 15 straight matches imo) Hilde vs Hilde for a "best Hilde" player title, no mm's needed, because they would be playing for "best hilde" player and not money, which in sorts is the same as a high amount mm because there would be massive pressure on both players for a serious reason, which should be enough insentive for both to strive at being their best.

EDIT:Now to determine who is the overall better player(s) just take their best 2 used characters against the opponents 2 best used characters and agree on a reasonable amount of matches to decided/determine who is

JustKill: Doing that wouldn't decide who is the best Hilde player, it will just prove who is the better anti-Hilde-with-Hilde player.

You can't really compare either of their Hilde's as they are both completely opposite of each other. RTD will hold back forever and Ceirn will be trying to get in your face. They are even in my book though just one compliments the other to me.

SU : $20 still isn't enough to put someone into overdrive mode to me. It's just not enough incentive to try cause you will take it serious but NOT as serious if someone put up $50. For example Daigo lost an $100 MM to I think it was Sabin (Arturo) but he WON EVO and won like 7k'ish. You can't put those kinds of wins on the table with MM's ya know?

They are both really good, I don't see what the point of this discussion is.

Also, not everybody plays to the exact same level every time they play. Sometimes you're in the zone, sometimes you aren't, and sometimes you lose at one tournament and come back beasting the next because you learned something. This is why it's kinda stupid to talk about who is the better player, especially when they've only competed simultaneously in like 2 tournaments.

I beat Kura at EVO, but does that necessarily make me the better player? Probably not. I also lost to OOFMATIC in casuals, does that make him a better player? Maybe. I know I learned alot, and I'm going to come back stronger next time. IF somebody is a better player than you, it doesn't mean they always will be. You just gotta accept defeat and learn from it.

What I'm getting at is that this what Cedric did. He lost to RTD at TIT, but he didn't give up and he beat him at EVO.

That's why it's kinda stupid to talk about who is/isn't the better player.

...my $0.02

Noface..did you whiff by my post about 6 up on this page?, lol..i was just relating to what S-U mentioned about Hilde in some sorts..ya never know, someone could pop up outta the blue down the road and be able to beat them both consistently...for now they are the Hildes and very good ones at that, but, give it a bit and let time do the telling.
