Horror Movies

1. Exorcist
2. The Ring
3. The Shining (Re-mastered version)
4. CHUCKY!! Some people might not be from the Chucky generation but I swear when I was 5-7 I dont think i went to bed a single day without thinking of that wretched doll lol. Of course it was an awful movie but it made an impact... isn't that what scary movies are supposed to do???
5. Paranormal 1 & 2. I agree with DeathinMyEyes I thought it was pretty scary don't know why the hate. In the least it was brilliantly thought out.

The only thing good about paranormal activity is... that paranormal activity 2 was worse lol. I like the original shining I am a huge kubrick fan.

The first paranormal was good. The second...ewwww.

THe movie which scared the piss out of me as a kid was Critters. I couldnt sleep alone for 2 years. Seriously. I still get creeped out by my bed room at night.

hahaha the rec center at my church growing up had a shower room off of the bathroom that looked exactly like the one in IT. i entertained so many thoughts of clowns coming up out of the drain that to this day using that bathroom creeps me out. and don't feel bad...i STILL will never dare stray out of the lights in the arizona mountains thanks to Fire in the Sky.

i think it is a little different when you know the towns and you are told the story and have talked to people there since you are a small kid.
Yes, I get it. I envy you in a way actually, I like to be scared but most of my irrational childhood fears are already gone.

you know what I actually like, the sudden heart speeders in those movies, meaning: for example when lets say there is nothing and nothing but a little girl walking in a dark and desolated hallway, there is only silence and all you can hear is her breath and steps, you think she'll open the door to get out of the place with those sinister enviroments and sets and you actually know something is behind the door and you're preparing your mind for it to not get scared but when you least expect it BOOM!!! the fucking music explodes so loud in your ears and a fucking monster just pops out of nowhere from the darkness and kills the bitch and you go "HOLY SHIT!" and then the silence returns once again lol

Yeah, that's a boo-scare. Boo scares are cheap scares.

The good kind of scares are the ones that keep you up at night, afraid of going to sleep.

I didn't care for the descent lol. It was okay but not good as they tried to make it out to be. I don't think anyone will agree on this but I actually like the blair witch 2. The reason being is because it is so messed up. I think people didn't like it was because it was so strange but that's what makes movies so good i.e. Donnie Darko, Clockwork Orange, Space Odyssey 2001, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Pan's Labyrinth, Requiem for a Dream, Pie, American Psycho, In the Mouth of Madness, Dark City...

I remember seeing Donnie Darko, and I thought it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. That was until I watched the extended dvd version. Then I realized I thought it was so good only because I didn't understand it.

i was like 9 when i watched IT. and i couldn't sleep for a couple weeks.
then i was around 14-15 when i saw "the cell" with J.Lo - was pretty scary at night bymyself
saw carry around the same age, and had to pee with the bathroom door open...

i didn't like insidious at all. it was nothing but one jump out and scare you gag after another. in the end i thought it was utterly forgettable.

I don't know what it is, but anything that relates to girls who have paranormal powers or are possessed freaks the shit out of me. Ju-On (The Grudge), The Ring, Exorcism of Emily Rose etc.

As for my top 5:

1) Ju-On
2) Audition
3) The Ring
4) Shutter
5) Darkness Falls

Jegen88, Darkness Falls? Really? For me it was just one of these low budget horror movies with bad story, acting and effects. I think you can find way better horror films than this one.

Endnow, are you not kidding with Birdemic? I saw a movie trailer for this one and I didn't know what to think but my first guess was "Is this a joke?".
