Rage Quitters

Realize you suck -> Don't want to give your opponent the satisfaction of knowing they tanned your hide good -> Pull plug

Afterwards it's usually customary to send some kind of spiteful comment on how they would have won if not for (insert excuse for being a bad player here).
 
i think you confuse people with a life with rage quitters....
Ex: dinner's ready => quit even if you are losing....
same for doorbell, important phone call, GF enters the room undressed with a beer asking to stop playing soulcalibur...etc etc etc....

yes cause every asshole that pulls the plug cause they were getting raped surely had something pressing to attend to.

Rage quitters are skill bonuses. While you're waiting for the connection to time out after someone quits, you can use that time to reflect on the fact that you're on another level that some people will never reach. The mail that is sent is in secret code. To decifer it you only need to replace most words with their antonym brother.
 
A good friend of mine has imparted me with some very valuable advice as far as playing online goes : dont take it too seriously. If guys leave a match because they're losing or if they have something to do is kind of irrelevant. We're on this website so we can get better at Soul Calibur, not to judge people we dont know. Here's another helpful peice of advice: regional match making. Its on this website!!! If we're playing random people we'll get hatemail, rage quitting, lag switching, anything under the sun... When we actually KNOW who we're playing, then there's no rage quitting.
Just a thought.

personally, i couldn't care less about rage quitters. it doesn't compliment me nor does it put me in rage mode either. if they suck enough that wanna quit instead of learning anything, then hurry up and make room for other people. (sounded too cocky there, which i'm not)
 
I once made a friend ragequit OFFLINE because he couldn't break throws so I just Yoshi 214A+G'd him out every round ^_^
 
Ragequitting isn't a big deal, when someone ragequits on you it just means they are admitting you are the better player.

there needs to be a point to it? if it is truly rage quit and not just the person being busy or having to go (i do that all the time, and get hatemail for it) then it is just that they want to stay ignorant morons who think spamming BB is "fun".
 
There was a rage quitter which made me laugh so hard. Here is the story:

I was matching people randomly with Tira. I ran into an Astaroth. Stage was ostrheinsburg castle. It was 2-2 and my hp was very low like %20 , his was something like %70. And he juggled me with a uppercut-like attack and catch me with something like a air throw. That throw ended up in sea. Both of us were ringed out. I thought I lose but when I looked at the screen again, I was the winner cuz I droped to the water later. I don't know how he did it but when he rage quitted, I was the one who eat the penalty. lol
 
when i was learning mitsu's commands i often quit in the middle of the match...

Expecially with bA/start/2/G command >____>

Did also when i played random and got Hilde....start 2G when charging is something happens often .-. if you never used hilde.

But nowaday i mostly PizzaQuit (i.e. if i order pizza i quit as soon as its delivered u.u cold pizza is something awful :/).

But i repeat that i just see ragequitters in ranked OR near dinner time :P

I thought once the match was won, you have the points, regardless if your opponent turns their PS3/Xbox off. That's retarded.

that's ranked for you. i don' see ANY point in ranked what so ever. it just spawns people like Asaba, cocky little morons who think they're badass just for being the best on ranked (can't call him out offline since i don't play offline).

So I've never made someone rage quit irl, but I've gotten hatemail this weekend at an offline major. Was pretty funny. Ranged from things like
"Cut that shit out"
"Stop that shit!"-about iGDR whiff punishing combos that take like 10 seconds each time
"He just kept doin' the same fuckin' move."-to others who told me
and my very top favorite needs some context. I was Cervantes, really the only character I'm good with, and I had done an iCT. Having realized they always got up in neutral guard I thought I'd capatalize on it in the most frustrating way possible. Knowing this would anger them I decided to apologize. Before I did my plan. So it went down like this
*iCT on standing Amy, they sigh in irritation while probably saying something about the throw, the throw finishes, I look over and say "I'm sorry"* which leads to "Wow! You're an ass! I'm starting to not like you now!"
Cool guy, just talks a lot of rage-coated shit when he's playing.
Anyways, rage-quitters are going to happen. You can't really put your finger on any exact reason. Normally it is because online I play like a bitch with astaroth, sophitia, and mitsurugi.
