Summer Jam 2011 is now over! Woahhzz from Philadelphia takes the singles event in a stunning runback against Mick in Grand Finals! Team "Nothing-Common", aka "Team lolo and 2 scrubs) takes the teams event. This was a huge tournament with a great turn out, and we're hoping that North East Championship 2011 can be even bigger on December 4/5!

I had some time at work to write up a props post. First and foremost, I am glad that all the people who made it to this, made it back safely. I know this was a tourney that might have had a major issue since mother nature wanted to try and fuck up the plans. It just goes to show how people here will support and love a game that they like.

Now for all the people i remember, if i forgot anyone, I'm sorry, I met a lot of people, and met with some that i haven't seen,in awhile.

Woahhzz - Man bro, all i can say is that you + ivy is almost a sure bet..lol It was great seeing you again and when i get a day off again, ill drop by to Sporko's and i will have you teach me some mitsu since this tourney makes me wanna play the game again.

Mick - Bro, it was good to see yas again. You pulled a good show all the way to the finals. Definitely waiting to see the match against Ramon at NEC.

Thugish Pond - I think this might be the first time i met you but if not, then im sorry. Over all you are one cool guy and im sure by the next tourney we will see the same great performance

lolo - Sir, I didnt even know that Yoshi can be that crazy, coming out from Mexico to rep was great. Also as others have said, it was great to see you in Philly. Next time you drop by, i have to get in on the shots since i missed it this time. Hope to see you come back again soon.

KrayzieCD - Bro, i know you were commentating on a lot of things which was why you missed the reg but it was still a blast It was great seeing you again and hopefully we will get to see a lot more at NEC.

IdleMind - Idle, the talk in the room was fun, the drinking was a blast, and overall it was just great to hang out with you again. We were coming from the same page as always and it was just an overall great time. Like i said with all the Mass guys, It is always a great time with you all and i definately miss all the Mass tourneys where we would hang out. Glad you made it back safe and hopefully you and the rest will make it to NEC.

As i stated in the beginning, all those i didn't say anything to, I'm sorry. Either, i was too drunk to remember what we talked about or we didn't get a chance to talk at all. Over all it was great to see everyone who was able to come to Summer Jam. Things like coming to these events is what helps the community over all, and if you are a local player that wants to get better, there are a lot of people here that are willing and able to help you out. All you have to do is stop by and play them. This will make the community grow and make more SC games possible. Again, It was great to see everyone and it was great to know that everyone made it back safely.

Hey all... i got some props to hand out, though i was at a friends house yesterday and i was writing up a post and ran outta time figuring out what the heck i was going to post, i had to leave and i slapped it into a flash drive and saved it there, just haven't got to copy and pasting it up yet with a few things to add to it...but i will say this for now...

Thank you G0ofus for the ride, plenty of jokes and food stops to and from, KIT... for hooking it up wit teh liquor!, i haven't had any type of alcoholic beverage in about 5 yrs!!!...it was worth it, and to the nice little lady at the sign up desk (where the soda/chips/candy bars were) at the end when they were giving out the rest of the drinks/chips for free, i asked if there were anymore and she said "nope, all gone" and i got there too late and she was nice enough about it and gave me hers!...mad props to her as well!!... it was an extremely nice gesture from her...for that was officially top tier!

LP And Noface, thanks for the recommendation. I honestly believe that we would all benefit from an ivy upgrade since she is the best character in the game. When Malek won Evo, we got a glimpse of that and Woahhzz is on the brink of becoming what Scud is in France - unstoppable.

Even so, the path I'd like to take is my own. And even if it's less effective, it's my style.

We should all strive to be original and hit up the lab when there are hurdles.

But regardless, at the end of the day, people wanna win and they will sell their souls to do it.

I also respect that type of player.

But they will always have the crowd against them and as soul calibur development becomes more community driven and the game becomes more balanced, these players will become disheartened easily and quit due to the lack of tier shortcuts.

One of the best things you can do i think is to take the Woahhzz approach and play consistently exploring various characters and then go with the character that you like the most and suits you the best at the end of the day.

My NY boys: I literally love you both. Without you two I would probably be one of these forum lurkers who just reads the shit on here and get more and more disheartened by the idiocy that's been going on lately. I can honestly say no one has gone more out of their way to make feel welcomed and encouraged me to actually participate in this community regardless of how much I suck. You are both what this community needs to be. P.S. Ramon, Brittany is a goddess. She's so lucky to have you you sexy bitch you lol!

Mick: Another shining example. Regardless of my skill at this game you have gone out of your way to keep me going and just holla at me as a partna. I appreciate you bruh. And I know the plans for SC5 but let's get that win at NEC and have this game go out as it should.

RTD: We didn't get to play this time but I enjoyed hanging out again and little Kai is gonna be a heartbreaker. He was the star of this entire tournament.

Chi-town: Y'all kept shit live. Dolla you know I love you. To know that I helped contribute in some small part in getting you to play offline makes me proud. LP you are just a godly human being. The humor and light heartedness you bring is what is needed everywhere we go. I saw the nervousness but you almost got Woahhzz along with quite a few other guys. Lolo: My smoking compadre, you are an absolute beast. NO ONE knew how to beat you the 1st night. I truly believe if it had ended that night you most likely would've won. Philly boys (besides Woahhzz): Khent you are the shit. The way you helped everyone there and roomed just about everyone along with the beautiful casual set-up you had on that last night was epic. Well this is getting long and I'm squinting to see the screen but I want to end on these final thoughts. This was probably top 3 greatest times I've ever had in my life. It showed me how much actually traveling and being a participant is so worth it. Not only did I get to hang out with some of my favorite people but with people I rarely get to speak to. It was all love and coming up the way I did (which most of you now know due to all of my damn stories) is very rare indeed for me. I truly cherish it and like Oof said earlier I love you all. It wouldn't have been the same without each and everyone of you there that showed up.

Also, seeing how everyone pulled together during a fucking hurricane, helping to watch lil baby Kai, and the roundtables showed me that no matter what anyone says about this community, we are the fucking shit! All these online forum guys that are talking all this shit and bringing oh so much negativity can go fuck themselves. Past, present, and future. We are the best group of people at everyone of these tournaments that I've been to and we all know how to treat each other. So for those that wanna really spout off their opinions, talk about how bad this community is, get involved in all the bullshit politics, argue about bans, rule sets, or future game mechanics and basically try to make us all look like fools, I say show up to a tournament or shut the fuck up. You are contributing nothing but senseless blather that no one cares about while we're all playing and having a great fucking time.

It’s just filled with amazing people. For a game that gets so much hate from all over, you still had 40+ players in the tournament, not to mention all of those who come just to support what we’re doing, and showing up in the middle of a hurricane. Plus you still have the best players in the country showing up to compete, and people going home with the sense that they can’t wait to come back for the next tournament.

Canadians: Glad you guys were able to come down. I’ll definitely be up there for SC5. I wish I could have made it up there sooner, but I am broke as shit at the moment. As for me, I beat a few people and took money from an old man, but I’m disappointed in my overall performance and for having problems with my controllers. I also wanted to interview some people and forgot all about doing that. But at the end of the day, I had an amazing time. I hope you guys also enjoyed the photos and video that I took at Summer Jam. I've finally got some time to post a few things up. First off congrats to woahhzz for pulling through very strong at this tourney. However, that makes you a wanted man by me because I'm going to take down the EC if I show up for NEC which will officially be my last SC4 tourny if I make it. Congrats on winning and thx.

NYC: You guys are a lot of fun and I cant wait to hangout outside of the gaming environment. DK, I know it sucks when a bad matchup is whored and the same character getting in your way. I was hoping like hell you played woahhzz because I wasnt prepared for him this tourney, he kind of went under the radar which will not happen again. Ramon, I dont know where to began with you...lol. I'll start with the good in you, you done a lot to help others enjoy themselves. You should a lot of people love and invited them to join in on any event that was going on, that's how you make someone feel welcome. Now to you not being under the radar when it comes to me, I'm sure you can say you wasnt ready for this tourney especially me. I can of expected that because you not use to be a target of mines which will garantee you a lost and a bad one at that. I'm not going to rag my boy Omar but you was or going down that same road if you challenge me at NEC, just remember you got a sample of it at Summer Jam. Enough with that, I enjoyed you guys and cant wait to do it again.

JR and Wife: First off my bad about not getting games in with you on Sunday, I thought I was going to be able to play but Greatone told me I fell asleep on the stick when I was playing him. I really enjoy talking to you and laughing at some of you jokes especially when you and DK were going at it. I envy you a little bit because you have a supportive and loving wife, that's the kind of woman I need with me. A lot of us will lose the girlfriend if we continue to play games and enjoy our hobby, however, your wonderful wife sticks by your side regardless. At the next tourney we will be the first to play or definitely going into SC5.

CHI: You guys were really prepared this time. It funny when we were doing the teams, Thuggish was saying he didnt want to play you guys because yall know him so well, so I told him this how I would beat each one of you and it worked like a charm...lol. On a serious note, you guys did really good and I hate things played out between LP and Hawkeye because no one really seen how good hawkeye was at the tourney. LP I just want to say for the record i'm got your number and you need to step your game up. Thuggish, we almost had the finals I've been wanting to have since I left for the army. You were really strong as usually. Also we have a common enemy, Ivy. This is the last time Ivy cause me any trouble even when she's played at the highest level. Hawkeye, I enjoyed talking to you and playing again. You will make a great student. Look forward to seeing yall at future tourneys and seeing CHI take top 3.

lolo: You were the man of saturday. You bit us in the ass in teams, which I was surprised by. If only you had the kind of fire at NEC when we were on teams...lol. You multiplied tremendously from the last time any of us seen you, huge improvement for this tourney. I'm kind of scared to tell you the missing piece to puzzle that will put you way overedge...lol. In my eyes you play exactly the same online as you do offline, however, I do not...lol I hope you realize now that Xia is stronger than Sophie. If you have prob with Ramon again refer to exhibit 1 which partisan if currently working on uploading.

Either way, I'm wondering, though we only have tentative dates for SC5, does anyone know if there are any majors planned for SC4 after NEC? ArcticKomodo - First and foremost I want to thank you for letting us stay with you guys and especially for driving us around. You're pretty cool guy, sorry if I came off the wrong way at times, the bus cancellations and me missing 3 days of work was really getting to me. The hurricane really messed a lot of things up for me. But I guess I shouldn't complain. A lot of people were affected way worse from it...

RTD - It was great to hang with you again. Kai is awesome, I can tell he will be a great SC player when he gets older. We are bringing forth the new generation. I wonder if Kai and Lucas will become rivals in SC? Anyways I just want to say I really appreciate your help when I lost my camera, as well as your offer to let me stay with you guys. You're a real good friend and one of the nicest people I've met. I look forward to seeing what you will do in SC5.

Mick - Honestly, I never took that forum shit talk seriously. I was just fueling the flames for the sake of hype. Back in the SC2 days before I began traveling across the border for tournaments, I used to look up to you as one of the SC greats, and while you still are, I now view you as an equal when it comes to the game. I don't expect you to think the same towards me, in fact I'm fine with people thinking they are better than me, that's what I want, it brings more satisfaction when I beat them. So keep me on your hit list if you want, just know that I won't be taken down so easily ;). But anyways thanks for offering to let me stay with you guys. And the fights were good.

Malice - We didn't get to talk much or even play, but like I mentioned I respect what you've been doing for the community. The fire in your soul for the game is stronger than most people's. Keep it up man.

greatone - It's always fun with you around man. We don't really talk much but I always enjoy listening to what you have to say. I was actually planning on using my secret weapon in the way you described, but she didn't want to :P. I think it wouldn't affect some of the guys there anyways if you know what I mean lol.

Sweets - I enjoyed those few fights we had as well as the Vader talk. I wish you would have had a chance to show me that Vader strat that you mentioned. I'll hit the lab at some point and see if I can figure it out myself, and I'll get back to you on that once I do.

KIT - thanks for looking out and holding my match for me when I left. I really appreciate that. Sorry that I wasn't able to fully complete the oofathon, but it's not easy with people like RTD in the way. I'll consider getting drunk with you one day. :P

Jaxel - good work as usual with the tournament. Respect. oh and make me a premium member plz, i have no moneys. :)

Ramon - It sucks to be you when you fight me cuz I will always out throw you, out RO you, and out gimmick you. I basically will always out-awesome you when it comes to Soul Cal :). But for real though, you are one of the people who make the tournament experience the most enjoyable. Without you there, tournaments are not the same and no where near as fun. I hope you keep playing SC and keep coming out to tournaments forever. And by that I mean you gotta live forever. Become immortal and don't fucking die or anything. And it was a pleasure to meet Britanny. Start making babies. Now. We need more SC players.

Maxx - Like Ramon, without you there at a major it will feel like something is missing. You're really friendly and welcoming to new players. I hope you become immortal with Ramon and stick around forever. And stuff.

KrayzieCD - I'm glad you were able to make it to this tournament. I wish you could attend all of them! You need to move to the east coast. And also because of your play style, you are one of the most fun players for me to fight. I appreciate you doing that ft5 with me. You completely deserved that win. I look forward to seeing the video of it. And I just realized you didn't enter singles! What the hell.. o_O

lolo - You are the one I had the hardest time fighting every time we played. And for that I consider you the best player there. You're mind games and reflexes are no joke, and to top it off you use a character who requires a lot of skill. Respect. I will try my best to defeat you in SC5, you can count on that.

Thugish - We had a first to 5. You were too scared to have it recorded. I beat you 4-0 and then you struggled to get back, and you succeeded. You came back 5 straight winning each match by a hair. So even though you won 5-4, I'm still better than you. ggs :)

LP - Terrible... terrible.. Sophi. Please learn how to use a character properly before using them against me >_>. Glad you came out to the tournament. :)

HumanTyphoon - When you brought out the shakeweight.. I was like WTF. That shit is whack. lol. It looks so wrong. I think if you use the shakeweight too much, you might end up accidentally ripping the chicken off when you choke it. LOL

Woahhzz - Thanks for the sandwich stuff, it was really appreciated. You're a nice guy and the humbleness is a good quality. Don't let others try to convince you otherwise.

NDK - It was cool meeting you and I hope you enjoyed yourself. I would have liked to play you some more. Hopefully next time.

Saion - It was good hanging out with you and talking MK and SC. Looking forward to playing you again in the future.

Blackmamba - Glad you still play SC. It was cool talking to you, and I hope you and your friend will rep it hard in SC5. You are the underdog with the potential to cause upsets, I should know. :P

Hawkeye - It was fun playing your Taki in that first to 5. She was bit much for my Vader to handle, but Apprentice was able to handle her no problem ;). In all honesty though, I think that matchup is 5:5.
