As for Rock's 'tier' - tiers are completely skewed online and only really apply at high level - don't get hung up on it. If however you play at high level offline, Rock is complete ass. Off the top of my head I can only think of Shen Chan and Idlemind who play him very well, though I'm sure there are more somewhere.

He is however a loved underdog - watch this video: listen to the crowd's reaction when Astaroth wins, then when Rock wins XD.

So theoretically is it possible to make Rock work against Kilik/Amy/Ivy/Lizard?

I find that some of his moves are just disappointing (6AA ((Yes I know he can crouch grab cancel!)), BB, 4KB, etc) however he has some sexy moves like 2A+K (At least I think it's a good move), 6k, 4B, etc.

HRD i would love to fight your maxi with rock at least. Maybe pick up seong later on. But maxi is low tier? I know he's easily punished with GI's and he has alot of breaks in between his combo's but I figured him for at least a mid tier character. Or bottom mid tier. Gonna look through the Rock arena and try to learn some tech traps with the big man.

Oh yeah Maxi is low tier. He has 2 good match ups (one of em is Rock....lol). Maxi gets a big boost online. Specially adding certain lag tactics on top of that can make him seem decent. But Maxi is easily stopped in critical spots (except by Rock...LOL) and eats a shit ton of punishes. Most of his moves are in reality pretty slow, But I make it look good....LOL

Its theoretically possible to win with anyone. Except yoda obviously XD.
Also, 2A+K is Rock's best 'lag low' online sadly. A shame as he could use a good low. =/

Yoda is a true pro character. Who else doesn't need side dashes, back dashes, or forward dashes? Who else can ring themselves out with normal hits? Who else is immune to Grabs?

Rummage through the rock arena and i found out 2B+K is easily shakeable? Aww man so how do I get his juicy attack counter stun combo's going without actually attack countering? Question is 6B+K easily GI offline? It looks easily so.

Also HRD makes you look more pro if you can make Maxi look smexy XP never thought most of his moves were slow (Imma have to start putting more training into offline now...). Who is the other good match up maxi has against? Is it Yun-seong? Seong-mina?
 
Yo ppl what's up im bored and im going to put up some funny hatemail in a while. Anyone know SegaJennaroni cause he's one funny scrub.

I'm going to add this in I was just thinking about cross-platform gaming with SCV because I always wanted to play ppl on the xbox but I don't want to use that controller. They did it with Portal 2 so I thought it would be neat if they could start doing it for other games.

Ok hatemail time... I join a room and watch this ivy use DA and lag lows as best they can. Since I know they are going to do lag I pick Lizardman cause I can lag back with him better than my tira. He gets me first 2 rounds then i make a come back and tie it up, suddenly he leaves. It was early and I was bored so I figure I can taunt him. My message is p*ssy. It works and he starts going off on me like the usual ppl do. He invites me to a private match and the next thing I know he's bubble shielding and 11A with algol like it's natural to him. I lose and he kicks me from the private match and the conversation continues for like 20 more mins. even though he gave some excuse for being called into work. These are only a few messages and apparently he said he pitied me and wasn't angry.

Also idk how to do spoilers so inform me cause I know you will. sigh i even tried to figure it out on my own.

I know but like I said I was bored and felt like seeing if he would entertain me and he did. I don't usually do this but it was fun. Most ppl would know not to respond since it was a taunt.
 
In summary, the "you mad bro" tone was too much for him. If he made a pacifist yet blunt statement like I would do, rikkugrl25 would back off. Although I do remember getting booted long ago by rikkugrl25 with no hatemail. I wonder what would happen if I provoked you back then, rikkugrl25? Tee-hee! Anyways, I can count something like this as hatemail. Let's hope we don't have a drama starting. I have a feeling SegaJennaroni is a soapbox should he join here......and I'll be chuckling at him until he has something interesting should I meet him.

Can someone explain to me why 99% Of Ivy players I fight spam lag lows as well? It's getting terribly irritating playing cheap with a High tier.

If you're talking about that match you just quit mid match, that was Partisan, and he wasn't using lag lows.

Are you referring to FC 3b?
 
Ok besides the hatemail what do you ppl think about the cross-platform gaming cause it would be fun and everyone would be able to communicate better about playing right?
 
Sadly, it's not much different. Except the X-box live connection is hella better than PSN. This coming from an ex-narrowminded PS3 fan. If I counted the amount of times PSN lags me out more than Live, I'd probably side with Live because the connection is vastly better and I've adapted to the 360 d-pad now(with small errors because of lag). Still though, cross platforming is awesome because you play everyone and play them in their other games besides SCIV if we happen to bond enough.
 
if you mean trashy.. by scrubby, then i think Raphael. at least online i beat good ppl using cheap lows grabs and doing random junk...lol I had fun trollin that day. (:
 
I'm not sure what you mean by 'trashy'. Do you mean a character that can be annoying to a majority of Soul Calibur's players (maybe mostly those online)? I would probably choose Kilik since they abhor a lot of his A+B moves, but I personally enjoy fighting against him. xD
If I've got the wrong definition for 'trashy', tell me.
