SoulCalibur V Storyline Theory Thread

Now I'm even more confident that Nightmare is Hilde's father if he's posing as an advisor to an emperor. I'm sure as a former king he's experienced in dealing with royalty and knows exactly what to say to earn the trust of the emperor. Then with the help of his malfested army he takes over the throne and a new kingdom of darkness is born.

If I'm totally wrong about all this I think he should at least be part of Nightmare's army. I just want to know why he went missing dammit!

What do you guys think Leixia's role in the story is gonna be? The only thing I can think of is trying to save her dad. But will she have any connections to other characters is what I'm wondering.
Oh, her dad, the random chinese general? :P Lol, I know what you mean. Somehow, Kilik not being the father is so damn.... anti - climactic. It's like ordering hot wings then realizing you're out of BBQ sauce so now you'll just have to shut up and deal with ketchup. (don't ask)
BUT, I feel confident this is just a plot point and maybe Kilik's the father somehow.

I was so sure Kilik was her dad when I posted that :(
I feel kind of let down now that she's someone else's daughter. I hope her story is about a journey to find her real dad. She could start by searching for "Lord Maxi" to ask him what he knows about what happened to Kilik.

I am so playing the shit out of this story mode. I needs answers.

Raphael would have experience with nobility and he's done the whole malfested followers thing already. I'm leaning more and more to the idea that Raphael has been split in two, the good side and the bad side. Good side wants to save Amy, bad side becomes Nightmare. I hope we get a peek at his movelist soon to see if there are any hints there.

The first character revealed by Namco Bandai is a brand new female character called Leixia and her father is General Yan Wujin of the Ming Empire. Her mother is Chai Xianghua and she also has a younger brother named Leixin. Leixia uses a Chinese Sword named Ten Feet of Blue and fights using the secret arts of the Ling-Sheng Su Style Sword which were taught to her by here mother.

or maybe SE is just recreating an human body based on Raph image, remember theyr connection: Raph stabbed SE,SE turned him into "vampire"

Anyway add
Add Graf DUMAS (french writer of "the three musketeers" and "Count of Monte Cristo",both can suggest heavily Raph) as point for Raph

I thought that him and Amy contracted vampirism when they started living in that empty castle. SE only amplified it because it was an evil and unholy virus.

Alright, I went and researched 'Ten Feet of Blue' (completely unsure what I was looking for...) and I found a page on wiki. Quoted:
Hu Sanniang (literally: Third Sister Hu) is a fictional character in the Water Margin, one of theFour Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. She ranks 59th of the 108 Liangshan heroes and 23rd of the 72 Earthly Fiends. She is nicknamed "Ten Feet of Blue".

So, I'm not sure why they wanted to reference this particular person but, case closed :)

Carry on with the story discussions...

I just realized this (so forgive me if people have already suggested this) but didn't Li Long from Soul Blade/Edge have a lover named Chie who was pregnant with his child. Natsu was raised by Chie if I have read correctly. Could Natsu actually be the child of Li Long? Chie was likely a friend of Taki and so it would make plenty of sense for Chie to allow Taki to train her daughter.

Also recent information makes me think that some of the surprise characters in store for us will go back to the roots of the series so my guess is that we will likely not get Hwang back but possibly a child of him an Mi-na maybe?

Didn't Arthur also have an infant daughter with him early on in the series? Could we possibly see her in the upcoming game as well.

Great thoery! But what bothers me is that Natsu definetly look European. How could that happen when both parents are Japanese? It's not common anyway. I would love to see Seung-Mina with a kid. that'd be so awesome. xD Also! Daishi Odashima said he'll have a live podcast to answer questions about SCV! Submit your questions through twitter. (@Daishi_CALIBUR) This is the link he put up. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nbgi-live-channel it'll be at 9 o clock pm tommorow JST. Which is 8 am EST. Anyone who watches it update me!
EDIT: This is a wild guess but maybe Natsu is Aurthur's daughter? I just wanted to say it. Hahaha

Natsu is too young. She hasn't been born by the time of SC1 (Arthur's daughter has).

If you go by the timeline, Viola has a better matching age.

I'd like to know how Natsu ended up in Japan because she's clearly not Japanese.
She must be related to Setsuka or something.

For that to work she would have had to be pregnant at the time of 3/4 (which is possible given her "master" was her lover and the two are very close to eachother, though it strikes me as unlikely) at Natsu is 17.

Sorry to change the thread's direction, but a member here said Nightmare's clearly Hilde's father right? Well, let's take a look at the facts:

It just ocurred to me who can be the new Nightmare, and there's a detail on his character that absolutely everyone has forgotten about.

We know there are characters missing. Those are:
-Sophitia (doesn't sound lik it)
-Kilik (don't see him neither)
-Amy (who Viola screams lol)
-Hilde's father

Well, Sophitia was said to be dead, and it seems due to voice and bio, that Nightmare's a guy. Kilik lost the Dvapara Yuga, and has a chance on becoming the new one, although I personally don't see it. Amy seems to be Viola.

Now, on Hilde's father. Reading Hilde's bio from SCIV yesterday night I noticed an interesting detail: it states that, before deciding to go on search of Siegfried against Nightmare, she was talking to her father... who was locked away at a stone chamber atop the castle, since the Evil Seed made him go all mad.

Now, we know that Nightmare presented himself as Graf Dumas, a name that is taken from the Count of Monte Cristo. How?

German title: Der Graf (count) von Monte Christo, written by Alexander Dumas. The novel's story focuses on a man, who's locked away on a prision, and ends up escaping and searching revenge.

Back to SC, Hilde's father was imprisoned. Now, care me explain how does a locked man disappear if he's mad and completely related to the sword? No one knows right?

Well, me neither lol (Tira? Chaos (SE Spiritual Realm)?). But I believe that alone is pointing us to Wolfkrone. It's german for Count Dumas, it's related to a locked up guy, and it's related to the Evil Seed. It's also a king whose experience may be of great service to the whole situation (Nightmare posing as an emperor soldier's just to increase the number of malfested minions and souls).

Sorry if all this has already been said lol
