That was me. :)

I'll be there today, but much earlier so I can get some exclusive hands on time with Maxi since many people wanted to play at the stations.

I'm personally fine with the new GI (I understand why Maximum wouldn't be), but I just have to break the old habits of doing it the original way. I also have to remember that CE/BE exist.

Maxi will certainly be a beast without question. If there is one thing I'm not a fan of (Aside from no PSL3) is PSL1 and 2 appear to cycle through automatically if you activate it (Barry probably mentioned this already). So that means once you do PSL1 or 2 you can remove your hand from the controller, and it will cycle through the stances by itself.

You must press G to cancel it.

Oh and Barry, apparently there was a In and Out within walking distance of the Student Center, so if you ever want to go eat something today, I'll be down!
 
GI system in a nutshell:

It uses 50% meter to attempt the GI. ATTEMPT!! So that means, once you build the meter, you can use the GI system. The command is 4+ABK. It doesn't parry lows or throws. Again, IT DOESN'T PARRY LOWS OR THROWS. So that means, if you know the attack is coming, and you waste the fucking meter on a GI, you'll be more frustrated knowing that the attack will not be parried due to it being a low or throw.

Players like myself who are aggressive as hell.........or use Asatroth (which he also is terrible), you have to build enough meter to use it. I have to be patient and wait for that Goddamn meter to build. Block attacks like an asshole........or try to get in a poke to start my fucking offensive, just to get in a GI that I know I will hit because this opponent of mine is repeating the same thing over and over again.

Speaking of repeating things.......The damaging combo that Maxi does (only one we know of) goes like this:

1BA -> BL BB -> LO B
1BB -> RC AB
1BB -> RC B -> LO B
1BA -> [6] -> LI K
AA ->RC ->AB or throw in the BE at the last B and you get a GB.

Those combos I saw over.......and over.......and over..........and over......Barry threw those out against every person there. I just watched the damage meter drop.......and drop.......and drop.......It was actually cool to see Maxi do some real damage to people.

Going back to the original topic......the GI sucks.......it puts people like myself who WANT TO GI THE REPEATING STRINGS CANNOT DO IT, BECAUSE OF THE GODDAMN METER!!! LASDFJLSK;ADJFK;LADSJFK;LASDJFK;LADSJF;AS JD;LFJAS ;LDFJ;LADSK
 
Didn't know that about PSL 1&2 being auto pilot. I thought is was something wrong with the stick lol. I'm not sure I like that part but I will adapt.
 
Not GI'ing lows is a turn off, considering it costs meter. I'm accustomed to it not GI'ing throws though. Maybe jGI is still there that allows parrying of lows and throws? maybe?
Seems like we need to abuse the fast step more now. Not problem, as i intended to do that. This may work out decently for Maxi, who has many abusable short strings, like RO AK
 
There's also something called a Just GI or something like that. Basically you have to hit guard as the right moment of the attack it will count like a GI, like in Street Fighter III parry system. I couldn't get it off, Barry couldn't get it off, Aqua couldn't get it off. We all tried to get it, but nothing happened. So forget that idea.
 
Maxi has no low attacks. He's all mid and high. the only mix up you can possible do with a low, is RC K and LO K. Pretty weak.

That doesn't sound right he has 11A (old 236A) and FC 3A series, and stomp, and BL K, which seems viable cuz of BL B. Are you sure about this?

I just read the bit on autopilot looping. WTF. Does he constantly move foward if you say psl1 for example?
Can someone explain looping in DETAIL, and EXACTLY how it is please
 
11A, FC 3A, and 1A are viable lows. However, they aren't fast enough to just throw them out at random. Distance is closed so damn fast. FC A series is used quite a bit on wake up games for added hits, but it's not really great.

Auto looping is very stupid. After 2_8 BK (old A+K, 2A+K), if you tap 3_6, Maxi will cycle through the looping patterns forward or backwards. Literally. It's quite dumb. You can G cancel, but cannot change directions from forward to backwards or vice versa. Very dumb and will never be used.

Say i do 4B psl1 BL. He will loop to BL, but if i go neutral while in BL he will autopilot into this loop? BL->RC->RO->BL until I press Guard? And does this also mean, that if I tapped 4 to do psl2 WHILE in the loop to BL, nothing happens??? or is this exclusive to the sidewinders??
 
Exclusive to sidewinders. Has no affect on regular attacks transitions to loops. LO and LI are added to the PSL 1 and 2 looping patterns. I remember where they are in the patterns, but they are there. It's stupid as hell.

...and I was just going to ask the question if at least you could toggle between the two loops, PSL1 and PSL2.
 
So does anyone know what changes were made to Maxi in this build? I know they talked about toning down 4BB. Is it still safe?

Why not just LO K, as it's a faster horizontal sweep ;)

Yeah you're right, but something tells me that LO K will whiff due to the quick step. Bah, the only way we'll know now is to wait for the games release.
