α Patroklos General Discussion/ Q&A

I spam that move if the opponent can't react.
Its just not absolutely 100% necessary to win with, unlike the other two mentioned JF's
I've lost so much trying to show off my JFs! I have to do EVERY JF before I win the match or die trying! I usually just do it against scrubs.

Does anyone know if the jf's are different from sc broken destiny I was considering getting its iso since I have a cfw psp so I can practice jf's since I can only play scv on weekends

guys im new to this forum i need to know when to time the second just input of sakura air combo and when to time the just version of sakura twister. i can do the sakura twister just attack often but not consistently and dont know exactly how to do it since its a slide input. any help would be appreciated

For the JF Twister, you just have to do the aB slide very quickly. I wasn't able to do it for anything though until I started to do it quickly AND lightly, where the button presses are soft yet fast. When I pressed them firmly it didn't seem to come out no matter how quickly I did the slide, once I added the softer touch that was the magic fix.

1.What are people doing after 44B+K BE on block? aPat has hardly any guard breaks as it is so it's not a common scenario for him. That said with how fast twister is most opponents i meet just hold block and try to react. His low game isn't too stellar so what should someone do here? I find twister to just be risky so i'm currently just using K since it'll stuff almost anything they do, but the damage is pretty poor.

2. Does aPat really have a mid/low game? I feel this is aPat's one flaw. Most of his lows seem to be pretty easy to react to once you train yourself to see the animation. 11A, 11K, and even 1A:A:A all seem to have a pretty big windup. 2K is nothing to write home about either. Is it worth even focusing on his lows outside of very rare mixup tools, and instead just using his step killers and fish for counterhits?

Its +2 on Block - what do you do after 11K on hit? You basically have 3 options:
1. JF Twister if you think they will press buttons.
2. Run up and throw them if you think they will stand still or try to step.
3. Run up and 1B:B them if you think they will crouch.
If you guess right, you will net 71 - 103 damage without clean hits assuming you know your combos. And this applies to any situation you are at + frames.

Alpha has the highest output damage throws in this game save astaroth and then its competitive:
A+G, 8A+BB, 2A BE, JF Twister. = 97 dmg without clean hits
214B+G, JF Twister, JF Twister. = 103 dmg without clean hits
You dont need lows when you can output that much damage, mix the throws with safe mid launchers like 1B:B.

He doesn't even need a low game, but as it happens - he has one: 1A: A: A is the only strong low you will really be using - RO to the right, almost 50 dmg, KND. Used sparsely this move connects, I've seen it at high level. And if your opponent can react to it, mix it up with B+K 62B 44B+K, because the two moves cannot be distinguished between on reaction. That's a low/mid mixup right there.
and instead just using his step killers and fish for counterhits?
Step killers? That's an area he is weak in and to be honest, you don't really need counterhits either, this character is all about throw/mid rushdown.
In this game, 1 throw + 1 1B:B + a couple of pokes = KO.

I use a lot of 8A+BA as antistep, i will check the weekend on tournament how people adapt to this. Jumping around is fun!

Also 2142K is awesome. Its huge range, way better than normal 2K. Good to piss people off. Random JF twister here and there after it and BAM you can do it all day.

But he really needs no lows, whoaazz whores the shit out of 1AAA, so it seems it still fast enough to not be reacted too...

yea, i noticed i started doing it more often when i pressed light and fast, but i still can't do it consistently, which is required to do a lot of his combos, mainly the combos with back-to-back JF Twisters.

1AAA is one of the best low in the game. Spam it.
214~2K is nice too, I've been trying to use it more. 236~1K can be used because it has deceptive range but it's still massively unsafe.

Best antistep tools : 2A, 3A, 214A, 236~throws, 44A.
2363A isn't that bad but it is not her best antistep tool by far.

Yeah I've been spamming this alot lately and getting the full JF down and it seems to work, but is it unsafe if I don't JF it (1aa) cause that usually scares the shit out of me. Can you combo anything from 1:A:a or 1:A:a:a cause both gives Knd

I think the 1A JF window is bigger because it seems to work almost every time. No reason not to spam this move. Not reactable (still i22 I think) and kills step.

2363A isn't that bad but it is not her best antistep tool by far.
It's time to let Setsuka go, Maxou =(

I know it's dangerous as hell on block, but I actually can't imagine playing without using bA to discourage step/8WR at range. It just hurts so much, especially on CH!

I'm also of the opinion that this character is much more about throw/mid guessing games than mid/low mixups, especially due to the latter's weakness to 8G techniques.
