Plus Harry Potter needed to go to magic school too to become a wizard. Maybe she learned it somewhere? Theres so many ways to explain it...

you may get a point with this, that make me think than Namco may make any kind of excuse to make both the versions true...

Example 1 - Viola is Amy: somewhere in tha SC universe, 10-11 years before SC5, a malfested Amy (still 13) was purified from the influence of soul edge, but the shock give her an amnesia, make her albino and give her divinating powers, from that on, she'll start to age again...

Example 2- Viola is not Amy: for some reason, a descendant of Amy come from the future to the past, but, during the time travel, something got wrong and she got an amnesia... this may explain her divinations powers and the resemblance with Amy.

So, like the Schrödinger cat, until the box is closed, both the version are wrong, and only Namco can open it.
Until then, just have fun recreating your favorite character, but trying to not tell the others they're absolutely wrong.

The voice actress is a VERY weak argument. Voice actors will often play many roles and pick up a similar character when a company already has your resume.

The only strong arguments are similar mentality, look, and Violas open past. The other points people bring up are easily deflected. Also as much convincing evidence as there is there's equally valid counter points. Why make a similar char not be Amy? To remove a clone in place of a new char and fill the void of that chars personality and flavor.

Tha viola = amy debate has always been a mess off good evidence for both cases and people need to realize both theories are valid...people calling the other side retarded are being ignorant to the open for interpretation set up that this currently is...unles u have insie info >_>.

Even if voice actress was a weak argument. It isnt because you forget that its also the same actress in both language. Youd have a point if it was only Japanese or English but its for both languages the doing the same characters. If they hired Heather Hogan and the Japanese actress for ANY other character, youd have a point but they hired them for the character many many many fans said 'its Amy!!!' long before we heard Violas voice.
You talk like this is two different things. incombination it makes a VERY strong argument that Viola is Amy.

The only real argument against it is that they dont say it direct in the game. Haircolor is a weak argument age is a weak argument because its 24 STARS and not years so you dont know her age in years at all. Albino is not just weak, its DUMB, because Viola doesnt look albino at all. Albino dont have grey hair and tanned skin. Also Amy always had black hair in her 2p costume. MAYBE she was no real redhead but born without hair pigment and always dyed it... is as serious agument as albino

Do you guys really think Namco even knows? I have a feeling Namco tends to pull things out of it's ass. We can speculate all we want but for all we know Namco just recycled parts of a character design. Remember, this is a game designed with 3 mimics. I am curious though. I'll be checking back here to see if anyone can actually get some verifiable info through Namco.

I think they dont understand what a good story is and rushed SC5 to finish after they were done with the looks and gameplay.
I read that in 2008 Namco said SC4 was the final SC game... yes. SC5 is a new chapter in a story that was already finished. SC4 ended the story. Sc5 destroyed it.

i would agree but with what was said earlier took me back a step. Elysium looks and has the same VA (i think) as sophitia but really isn't. Leixia could look exactly like her mother (and kinda does) but she isn't. (i understand the VA is different though). it seems like no one has looked into the fact that Viola could be a relative or doppelganger of Amy. and the clue about malfested amy having green eyes is a solid point that would be too obvious for the devs to miss. and malfested amy doesn't have white hair. even looking at that all that aside viola is working for/with an anti-malfested/NM group. so there are too many unanswered questions to say whether viola is or isn't amy. that's my conclusion.

Viola as Amy colored is lovely. My only humble nitpick is move the color of the hair a tad bit to the left(like one notch or two). Aside from that, please keep sharing. Even though Pocky Yoshi broke his promise on lurking, but he felt he had to say this.

first of all. i got peeved because of the misleading title. i hate that. i hate seeing it one youtube and i definitely despise it being on 8wayrun. he said he did it to get people to look at his thread. so i helped him out by starting the amy/viola debate. he got what he wanted so i don't see what the problem is. plus i said i was through a while ago and it just kept going. so i'm not the sole person to be blamed for this. one of the main ones but not the only one. and that metaphor you used was unnecessarily vulgar, sir.
