Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Hmm..dont know if someone noticed this in the Demo.
On the title screen ya can see the Mugen tenshin Village stage sometimes...looks really nice.
..im expecting nothing from DoA 5, love the Demo and the Characters...so as long as the game wont be Bad as Psychic Force(really bad game..shame on you) Im ok with it!

Yeah, but there's a lot more danger zones now. With that, damage potential is going to be nuts.

For example in this limbo stun "combo":

You can hold during limbo stun, thus not everything being "guaranteed." But, this is just to show my point of potential damage when everything adds up. Note that this is only against a wall.. what happens if that last hit knocks the opponent off the stage for a stage transition mixup? lol

Oh well, I'm enjoying the game nonetheless. It's just something I noticed, that's all. All of these high damage danger zones might just keep us on our toes, or something.. who knows. I mean, Tekken gets 60% wall combos right..? lol..

To that I say...alpha build. Tell Tecmo that you think environmental hazards are OP as they are in the demo.

I'm not against criticizing the game if you can actually identify what needs work and why.

Now I see what you are trying to say. You are right, that is a high amount of damage for a wall combo.

So apparently the set release date for DoA5 is Sept 25, because Tecmo put on FaceBook links to preorder from GameStop.

Historically, how popular is DOA? What's the tournament turnouts been like?

I hate not being able to play locally.

Ya, those look exciting!

If DOA5's a good game it could get popular again.

EDIT
Famitsu 360 mag has a questionnaire that readers can mail in every month.
DOA4 is still in the top 20 most popular games (according to reader's answers) and is the oldest game on the list (2 years older than the next oldest game (Gears Of War)).
This month 13 readers voted for it and it's #8 (the same as last month). The top game (Gears of War 3) had 31 votes.
DOA5 is in the top 10 most wanted games as well (#6 but last month was #2).
As the questionnaire doesn't need a stamp (but is in Japanese) maybe I should start mailing it in as well...

If that character list is right and Brad is in the game people better watch out lol. Also why not put in Eileen from Virtua Fighter. She is infinitely more awesome then Akira and Pai Chan put together.

As much as I love Eileen (she was my main with Akira) Im surprised she didnt make it. I believe Akira is a awesome character for the fact you have to put work to make him awesome and Eileen monkey tricks is just plain wicked. Pai... never was a fan of and Sarah I didnt hate her but its not like i love her either. Despite all im just glad VF ppl are getting some sort of love and the fact VF is literally in june is a plus.

You shouldn't be able to counter out of the actual limbo stun. You can slow escape it and then counter I think but I haven't tried the actual demo yet (will be 2morrow). Good DoA players counters strings and this is even more so in stun because we recognize all the strings so that combo while it was cool getting that particular combo would be extremely difficult because the hit leading to the limbo stun is a 2 hit string. So unless that is a 2 in 1 would be very unlikely someone would be hit by it. After the p+k,p string they shouldn't be able to counter the next attack so you should be able to launch freely there.

The wall damage is fine especially considering the wall means more in this game. In DoA4 you could hold after being wall splat or you could slow escape and hit the floor even faster and could even do wake up kicks from the wall. The damage is more than justified. Especially considering you can hold almost anything in the game which I am still hoping they change.

I bought a PSP just for SC:BD (played it for <30 min).

Unfortunately, as I thought before I bought it, I need a joystick and don't I play portable gamez anywayz.

So even if somethins out on a portable, I know it ain't for me.

UNDERX- If I were there I'd let ya borrow mine!

2 PSPs (one I let a friend borrow along with my SC:BD) and a DS.
My son uses em a little (I don't touch em).
Don't really touch/play gamez on my iPhone either (got SC (unplayed), Katamari, etc).

I just wish Pokemon was on consoles because I do very much enjoy those games.

I really need to see some Brad Wong/Eliot in action before I consider buying DOA5 though.

PSP user. still playing it and the awesome games for it. Black rock shooter, Persona 3, God Eater Burst, Valkyria Chronicles 2 just to name a few.

Yea I know. I meant consoles I currently own. I don't like buying consoles for one specific game. Learned that lesson with PS3. It collected dust til it stopped working.

Even if you recognize the string, it doesn't mean you'll counter it 100%, no matter if you're a good player or not. Do you think you can punish everything you see in SCV at every given opportunity? If so, you sir, are a machine and the best player ever if this is possible lol.

I really doubt you're able to do any of those options after getting that danger-zone wallsplat, as opponent is sent flying for combo'or to continue hitting combo'ee. Maybe after a regular wallsplat, but not all those explosions. If you think that walldamage is fine, that's interesting. Even considering the actual limbo "combo", with all risks of not being as guaranteed.. not doing as much damage as say, knocking them right into the wall and using a combo ender for extended combo after they're blown from the wall? Plus, in DOA5 it's so easy to knock people around and get that free damage since there are danger zones everywhere.. and danger zones leading into others (i.e., knocking them into a hanging car, car will explode, and a giant metal beam falls and hits opponent, another explosion...).

Like I said, if this is what DOA's always been about, I'm going to abuse the hell out of it. It's just way too good. Why bother with risks that have less damage output if the game's designed with something else in mind?
