I understand both those who hate Zwei and Viola and those who love them, but personally I'd really like it if they stay but without the wolf and orb.

The thing is, you take away these particular quirks, and you lose their dynamics. I'll admit, the fact that they call ZWEI a werewolf, yet he instead has a spectral wolf companion struck me as lame when I found out, but it's unique to say the least. In a fighting game, that's something we need more of. As far as Viola goes, I've loved her style from the start so the orb thing has never been a problem for me. While I prefer the emphasis on the claw attacks, the orb weapon plays well to her fortune teller story and I kind of like it.

I agree though that ZWEI's style should have some actual werewolf transformations involved. It would be so much cooler if he could eat somebody's face.

I thought that was just what some townies called him? Like the simple folk of yore, back in the ages SC is set in where everything was a witch.

I realize I might be a minority here, but I never much liked Amy. She just... never seemed to make of an impression on me, whether it was in personality, style, or story. If Viola were to ever be revealed as Amy, I would much rather she stay Viola - even if just her fighting style. As a Raphael variant, she just seemed like a retread of someone else... with the orb, she at least feels distinguished as her own character.
I think what happened was that the devs decided to include Amy in SC3 as an afterthought/inside joke, which is why she never said anything other than her name. Then, they just kept the joke going by giving her a cold personality. It's natural that she wouldn't make as much as an impression as the rest of the regular cast.

I don't think I can agree with the idea that Amy was a clone of Raphael. Yeah, they both used rapiers and Raph even taught Amy his own style, but to me, they felt extremely different. Amy felt much faster and seemed more like a pressure-oriented style as opposed to Raph's slower (but still fast), more deliberate game, which involved some spacing. Actually, I see some elements of Amy's style in Viola's. However, it really doesn't feel the same.

As far as Z.W.E.I. goes. For SCVI if there is one, I hope that either a, Z.W.E.I. just gets a redesign in terms of fighting style where he transforms into a werewolf who alternates with his Zweihandler sword and wolf claws for attacks/combos... B, Zwei ditches the Wolf spirit and has a more fleshed out sword style (I like his stances <3).
I like your idea's.
But how would zwei make the switch?
Would it be like they do in Bloody roar or would it be a stance?
Also the flying robot wolf torso thing could have been done better.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a character with floating weapons. I love Donovan from Darkstalkers and his is pretty fair and edgy at the same time. :)

I loved dark stalkers. Donovan was fun to play.
have you ever played Castlevania: Lament of Innocence?
It had an unlock-able character name Joachim who fought with six floating swords that he controlled with telekinesis.

imagine a style like that.

Also in regards to the cepheus store dlc's we have received.
I would have loved for some of the packs to have had pack themed weapons.
Just imagaine
A firemans ax
a crop or paddle for the sexy pack 2
A bone for the skeleton
Would have been sweet.

You're awfully biased for somebody who plays Soul Calibur. The game itself isn't meant to be believable or 'practical.' It's made by the Japanese, when have they ever been 'practical' in terms of game design period? Besides, don't be jealous that Siegfried is overrated and Viola's awesome.
I just like SC the way it used to be (weapons and design wise, you know when they were based on real weapon styles...). That's all. Also, how is Viola interesting at all? She's never interested me in the slightest.

Because you "like swing big sword *grunt*". :p I guess Tarzan wasn't interested in Jane. ;.;
Fun fact about Solo: I used to main Taki and Seong Mi-na before Siegfried.
It's the mystery and the intrigue, man.
The fact she had an orb made me lose my interest by default.
...
Well, the POTENTIAL was there, at least.
Lol
Ain't nothin' wrong with swingin' it if you got it :P
Because haters always gonna hate. :P

I...I think that IS his character.
Z.W.E.I.? Well, he is my favorite of the new male characters. (Pat's personality annoys me but his style is pretty cool, Xiba is just... Xiba... lol) .But he isn't my main since I am not all that good with him. My main is pretty much Viola in this game.

-As far as the switch thing goes. I was thinking that maybe it could be special edition CE perhaps? Like, he can maybe turn into a full-fledged werewolf and stay in it for a limited amount of time. I'm sure they could balance his attacks so he isn't too god-like. Or maybe it can just be just implemented into his CE where he attacks you, goes all werewolf and uppercuts the opponent into the air and unleashes a barrage of claw attacks, then goes back to human after the CE is complete. Those are some ideas haha. I think it could work like Bloody Roar too.
And yeah. If the Wolf spirit had a more natural beastly body instead of robotic, I think I would have liked EIN better.

And I haven't played Lament of Innocence yet but I have heard mixed things on the game. I think I saw a picture of the guy you were talking about. Pretty cool. = )

I think it's mostly because back before SCV came out, pretty much most of the characters weapons had signature styles that weren't heavily fantasy based excluding Ivy, somewhat Voldo (I have seen vids of people who have flexibility/extra reflexive though), and I guess Cervantes with his crazy teleporting and floaty swords. When SCV came around, Viola and Zwei had more fantasy-based weapon styles (which I don't mind personally, I love Viola's orb. And even if I'm not a big fan of Ein, I will admit it was very innovative for something like him). But then again, you had Siegfried who handled a somewhat giant sword but I digress.

But anyway, that's just my 2 cents there.

I hope they ditch all the things you like about your character too.

I respect your opinion. But even so, if PS does go on with the franchise, I'm pretty sure they won't change Zwei and I'll be fine with it at the end of the day. *shrugs*

I understand what you mean. Even though I like Viola's style. If the game goes on, I hope that PS just tries to balance out the realistic styles with the more fantasy/magical ones. The one thing I wouldn't want to see is new characters who use like heavy use of magic and they all of a sudden, stop adding in more weapons (I still want to see an authentic Egyptian warrior or a meteor hammer user...). For Viola, I can't explain why I find her interesting. I should say, I find her aesthetic interesting. Since she was practically not in the story, some of her quotes sound kinda cheesy lol.

I've always liked fantasy settings but hated magic (in every game I play the magic never gets leveled. Lol).

Heavy use of magic characters would turn me off from SC. I would just play VF after that...

I don't think her being cheesy can be helped, she's in a fighting game. It's going to be cheesy no matter what. Also, I would personally like Viola if she didn't have an orb and used an actual weapon.

Honestly it just seems like no one here likes change. ZWEI and Viola aren't hurting soul calibur, and the styles are unique. Even though you probably cant stand viola, i know i cant, you cant say you didn't think about learning how to use her right?

I gave her a chance just because she was new and she bored me within seconds.

Haha with the few small RPGs I have played, I hardly used magic either. It was mostly sword or gunner type characters. I only used magic users in Final Fantasy Tactics for GBA. And yeah, if SC went the heavy magic route and declined making anymore weapon warriors, I'd probably throw in the towel too. And yeah, I know Fighting characters will for the most part be cheesy but in SCV, the only characters who had rather questionable quotes to me was Viola and Xiba... Oh my god Xiba... Other then that, the only fighting game I've played where every character sounded cheesy was Virtua Fighter 5 haha.

You can heavily tell the difference between Soul Blade and Soulcalibur V.

But I will admit, the challenge of handling more than one state at once is what I like about Viola, and she adds variety from the rest.

However, I would still like to see a little more "Soul Blade" spirituality in the roster, especially amongst the new upcoming characters in future installments. Maybe some aspects of it in the current roster too, but I'm sure it won't happen easily. If at all.

Of the new characters, Leixia seems to be the closest who fits that "Soul Blade" spirituality, with a mix of "Soulcalibur" in it, and it really does show in gameplay.

Hm could you explain how a little more of "Soul Blade" would be implemented? ( sorry if that sounds rude e_e) I never played it so I hope you could shed some light on the subject ;///w///;
