How about some traditional weapons like a longsword user (faster than Sieg, slower than Mitsu), a flail (a true trap style without magic and shit), or maybe another duel wielding style (a mix between maxi and Mitsu) that doesn't teleport and spin all around the place?

What else can you think of? There are only so many blunt weapons. Hammers, maces, shitty Indian axes, some African weapons I don't care about, morning stars, flails, and ugh... those huge Japanese paddle things.

Fans? Really? Those wouldn't be too effective in a direct battle. We already have knifes. Sais are similar to daggers. Natsu has those two covered. :P

For fans:
1 Bladed Tessen+this size=a winner, personally. I like the jutte with it as well, as a means of guard crushing, since that's what the jutte is regularly for. Plus the jutte and tessen seem to coexist in some styles. like Ikkaku Ryu. However, how the fan would be used would be somewhat similar to how it is used would be similar to Dynasty Warriors 7, and somewhat traditionally in Japan and China.

Why? As long they don't throw any of these weapons in the match, I'm fine with it. Besides, we have Basara and Kitana from other series and, in Soul Calibur, we have a broken girl with a purple orb. I don't see why wouldn't be too effective. ;P
Anyway, can they bring back Revenant style and weapons from Soul Calibur 3 as well?

I never said I supported Viola, I hate using anything magic related at all. I always viewed it as a weakness. Also about the fans, I always thought fans were kind of stupid. I just don't see the appeal.

I'm sick of people calling magic weak or cowardly, when it's still pretty much the same concept just rebranded.
Plus I initially hated Viola and Zwei at first but they eventually grew on me. Frankly, I think theyre a desperately needed breath of fresh air for the soul series. Sure they dont really fit in or play the same way as the other characters but that's exactly why I like them. It's a new style you get to learn and adapt to, as opposed to 5 more sword and shield characters with a billion 236 moves.
edit: how about an acrobatic tomahawk user? he or she could be a middleground between xiba and natsu

That's just my opinion, I simply don't like magic. Viola and Zwei shouldn't be in SC to me for the exact reason you like them. I believe they can come up with much better characters than ones that are too based on fantasy. I have my opinion and you have yours. Also about the tomahawk user... I don't have an opinion because it's at least a real weapon. I wouldn't have an opinion until I tried to play them.

I'll ask you this. What is appealing about magic? I've never seen the appeal. I've never liked using an outside force for anything. You would never see me play Zwei, Viola, or a Caster in an MMO (I love mmos :D) because I like to do things myself and have it be 100% me. I don't like to rely on outside forces. Wait... just send a PM, we're getting this off topic.
On topic: More character variety would be nice. They could have made a trap character with a flail instead of a dumbass orb.

I'm not starting this again... I simply prefer SC closer to it's roots. In older SC games the styles were based off of real fighting styles. Magic is just bland to me, it always will be. That's all I'm going to say since you didn't even bother to explain why you think magic characters would benefit SC.
