The Fairy Tail Manga is great. The anime not so much.

But I don't get why a lot of people hate on the big "3" for seemingly no reason. You just hear: "Naruto sucks!" or
"watch real anime!". I'm getting bored of those haters.

Well as long as you like it there's nothing wrong with watching it. Shounen series tend to have themes that don't interest me much and I generally don't like long, drawn out battles. I like fights to be short and sweet and/or clever but most shounen series follow fight pattern something like...

fighter A - I have THIS technique!!!!
fighter B - hah!!! but I can do THIS!!!
fighter A - but I can counter that with.....THIS MOVE!!!
fighter B - hah you've fallen for my trap!!! now it's over!!
fighter A - guh!! but....it's not over yet!!! cause....HRUGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!
fighter B - gwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Well for me, the Naruto Anime had too much filler. The manga was far enough where they could have just animated it and been good. It was the reason why i quit with Bleach so long ago. I read Naruto because they story got better even if it was predictable but still has been a good read.
Its like D-grayman, the Manga has been a good read, even if it a monthly manga, but the anime was not that bad either.

As for samurai anime, there was one i saw awhile ago which was pretty realistic. If i remember it I will post it. Kenshin, really stuck with me. Ya it was un-realistic, but when you think about Anime, how many are realistic anyways? lol

I agree that Fairy Tail manga better then the Anime but then again, i find things like Hayate the Combat Butler good too..lol

Holy craptacular jesus-

Ya know the shit has hit the fan when the old man pulls out the bankai.

Naruto DOES suck though, it's not the big three. It's just Naruto. Anime wise that is. And the big 3 is the big 2 now unless Fairy Tail/Hunter x Hunter took over the Bleach slot.

Eden of the East is good but you gotta like mystery thrillers to like it. It's like a non action packed, yet way crazier Bourne lol.

Naruto in the beginning was not that bad.. For me, it was after the "valley of the end" battle where I started to lose interest in the Anime. When Ship started, I watched it but it was after the death of Asuma that i started to lose interest again...

I haven't seen a new anime that I have enjoyed in years. People tell me to watch Eden of the East but I'm not sure. Suggestions?

I watched two episodes of Eden of the East but I wasn't really feeling it. Dunno why exactly. Interestingly enough I see people compare it to the Bourne films and I hate those with a passion. I may take another crack at it. I may not. There may be some common element between it and Bourne however that I hate. Consequentially I may never like it. But tell me what you've liked man.

Three newer ones I've seen and liked were Darker Than Black, Future Diary and so far I'm digging Sword Art Online (as of episode 6). Though your mileage on anything may vary. I played WOW for five years, so I probably get "more out of" Sword Art Online than somebody who doesn't have an MMO background. Someone who likes Tarentino flicks will probably enjoy Black Lagoon more than somebody who doesn't and so forth.

I can make recommendations and you can probably tell objectively if a show is quality or not, but that doesn't mean you'll actually "enjoy" yourself. I do hope you like something I recommend, though your best bet when it comes to recommendations will probably still be to take the Henny Youngman route, "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks".

If you feel like trying something unique, Spice and Wolf is probably my favorite show from the last five years. It's got plot lines, yo. There is little to no action to speak of, but there are economics, mysteries, some romance and... yes, gratuitous nudity. Watch the dub if you can, it's well done. That is, if you actually wind up liking the show. It's surprisingly cerebral, but so are you, so maybe a good fit? It has a sense of humor but it's oddly rooted in reality for a show with fantasy elements. Not one sexual nosebleed occurs nor is anyone ever punched into a star.

You forgot: "At this rate, I'm gonna have to use THAT technique."

I like Naruto, it's kept me watching and reading from episode/chapter one, the lack of loli and ecchi is a little annoying but that's just my personal tastes.
Fairy Tail is great, I find the characters so appealing and the girls are hella fine, imo.
One Piece is also okay but I have gotten a little bored of it now, and the drawing style means I can never take it too seriously which was fine when it wasn't being serious but now it just makes me cringe, personally.
Just ordered Strike Witches, that should keep me satisfied until I get my next loli anime.

wait. you said that One Piece makes you cringe but you think Fairy Tail is great? It's the exact same drawing style isn't it? The same as Rave Master as well? Please correct me if i'm wrong but that just sounded like a total oxymoron there.

The silly faces is what I mean.

The reason I quit both bleach and fairy tale specifically is because of one main reason. They spend a retarded amount of time over hyping a supposedly really powerful villian. He appears like he would probably kill a couple of main characters, only to have him lose because of some unknown power from "LOVE." Are you fucking kidding me.

The reason I still watch Naruto and One Piece is because in Naruto people die, and in One piece they get they're asses kicked. The good guys don't always win, sometimes they barely survive.

If you liked Full Metal Alchemist, Trigun, Outlaw Star (The Classics), you may like Blue Exorcist, Kekkaishi.
You've seen Ghost in the Shell right? It's one of the best!
