i have the same problem. in DOA4 i could do Kokoro's grab without even thinking about it. now i'm having so much trouble with it and sometimes it keeps me from winning a round with it because the opponents health is low enough where that last part would kill them.
 
So I gave in and got the game today. Just a matter of circumstance while I was out doing usual grocery shopping today. Saw it, got it. With the little I played so far, I'm pleasantly surprised =). Gorgeous update with graphics. Same nice mechanics. Nice set of features and modes. Story is kinda cheesy but DOA was always tongue and cheek. Heck it has a story mode that IMO was executed at least better than SC5 not alienating old fans. Overall, pick this one up.

And what the hell? What's with the heavy breathing when losing battles, Tecmo???? ...and the no time limit free user-cam at the end, nice touch =) lol

no dude your missing out, the online is great just like scv its my first DOA game and im havving tons of fun learning how to play, this game is worth it its smooth and great fast paced action unlike robotic jugle tekken i think i found my second favorite fighting game the game is great support it its a good vacay form SCV

IM having soo much fun trolling them on the comment section on youtube lol, tekken is garbage, its funny how ive played tekken before and has never cought my atention, yet i knew i was gonna like DOA5 just by seing it, and its my first DOA and im in love with it the animations are so fluid and the satges are soo amazing its really fells like your in some sort of action movie!, to anyone reading go get yourself a brand new copy (to support the devs)
 
I got the game yesterday. I've played up to Mila's story, and I've finished Mila, Kasumi, and Helena's command training, and I'm almost done with Rig, Ayane, and Hayabusa. God DAMN this game is slick! I dare say, this just might trump SC5 as my favorite fighting game to this day.

Dude, there's no need to go full fanboy. A person can *gasp* like both DOA and Tekken.

I think I'm liking TTT better right now, but really it's just because I actually know what I'm doing. I'll probably start to like DOA more when I can actually play with a strategy.

Anyway I like how in the art book there's a little comment about the character, that's a nice touch.

Not only that, he DRINKS and can FALL DOWN. That's some shit right there.

Best of all, he's got JAZZ HANDS.

Brad Wong, ladies and gentlemen. Someone help me get better with him.
 
And now you see why I get so hype playing Brad Wong. His air grab was just icing on the awesomeness. A drunken fighter (I don't care what weapon they use) is all Soulcalibur needs to be complete.

Sadly Yoshimitsu only does the drunken walk randomly with 4A+K, but yes drunken fighter would be awesome to include.
 
Wow they could have given the VF5 crew updated vocals, you can hear the shitness of their mics when they speak.
 
Been doing some testing. Sadly, the save file for both systems is locked to your account. Shitty news for TOs.
 
Unlocks are a nice throwback. But this is one of those times I would GLADLY shell out an extra $10 or $20 for unlock keys.
I forgot how ridiculous unlocking stuff in these games were. Let's try to run down the checklist...Seems like I have to run every character through Arcade, Time Attack, and Survival at least once. A Full story mode run through (Gen Fu, Akira, Sarah and 2 Kasumi costumes). Grinding out titles for Pai(100) and Alpha(300) won't be too bad. But getting the rare costumes for Lisa, Tina, and Christie...I might as well start crashing my face into the wall now.

Funny thing. I don't use most of these characters...why DOA. Why you make me a completion whore when it comes to fucking costumes. Ugh.

BTW. I'm hearing rumors of saves getting deleted. so everybody. Back that shit up.
