Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

I think Underx should have a change of heart or else darn near everyone on this thread is gonna have it out for him. oh, and I saw a stupid good Pai on a twitch.tv stream. they have 24/7 streaming of DOA5 on xbox360. going to store that stuff away and use it. >:)

Yeah I've done my share of complaining here. Wake up kicks, button mashers, not being able to punish with throws EVER. All bug me. I'm just trying to adapt. And when I get sick of it, I go play ttt2.

I have one question. Can you team up with someone online to play a tag match? Or does it have to be a 1v1 match with both players using 2 chars?

No problem. It really sucks though because you could do it in DOA4. I was looking forward to being able to come up with actual tag combos with the online training mode instead of putting shit together on the fly like I used too.

I am pretty sure you can still play this game up to 4 players offline with the tag mode, which is really awesome. Too bad they didn't bring it to online. Like in MK you could lol.

Do a lot of lows in this game give advantage on hit?

I am starting to think Hitomi's 2P is my BB or something. TC, 14 frames, +1...

that's just weird man.

so it's like... TC move > 6P mid (counters the above 'cause it's faster) > jab strings (counters the above).

Is it?

In VF, the basic tools are jab, 2P, 6P elbow, throw. But I don't really know what's basic in this game and everyone I watch just throws out strings on strings.

That is a shame because the online dojo training mode in this game is pretty nifty. Perfect for training with someone such as a mentor. On the bright side, Offline Tag Mode with 4 players is still a blast to play although my tag partner doesn't really play a character that complements mine.

You can still play like that in this game. Mixing up the jab (the quick high attack), a 6P (the slightly slower mid punch), a 6K (usually the quickest mid kick such as a knee to the gut), a 2P (a low poke and great "reset" button) and throws works great when "feeling" around for stuns or comboes or for simply keeping the opponent off-balance. The people who throw out strings on strings may be playing safer characters or are simply buttonmashing and hoping for the best.

No offense, but I could swear that about 80% of your posts in this thread have been negative or whiny in some way usually complaining about the same things I.E the handling of stuns.
At least in comparison to my previous post it wasn't whiny but more of constuctive criticism of the game based on my impression.

TBH I find the answer hard-to believe but I might as well spend more time understanding DOA 5.

Some are negative on hit. Examples include Akira's 2K is -7 on hit and Kokoro's is -9 and -4 on 2H+K and 2H+KK respectively.

The nice thing about certain lows though, is the trip stun on counter hit forces interesting mix-ups. Kokoro's 2H+KK is a 50/50 mix-up on counter hit. Plus it crushes highs.

Also not every thing said in this thread has been positive. For instance a lot of the newer people to DOA have complained about how frustrating it is to fight online due to people buttonmashing them or lag. I, myself complain about how frustrating it is to fight Jann Lee online from time to time.

You make it sound like everyone in here is just circle-jerking saying stuff like "YEAH, DOA5 IS DA BESTEST, PERFECT FG, DONT'CHA AGREE!!??" Remember, there's a difference between constructive criticism and repetitive, incessant whining about something you dislike.

I have done my share of praise as well!

This is the DOA thread here on 8way - we dont have multiple threads for DOA here, so all DOA anything is talked about here. :)

Welcome to public forums Deal with it. If I want to vent or praise or imagine or discuss or anything else DOA related I will, And I welcome everyone to do the same! Welcome to public forums deal with it! Attacking people because you don't like what they have to say is Mean and childish and annoying since the rules of public forms dont say you cant be critical. Welcome to public forums, deal with it!.. And you getting annoyed everytime is just as annoying to me lol!

Welcome to public forums, deal with it! :D

Actually he didn't attack you at all. He politely said that your posting here since DOA5 came out had more of a negative impact on the community. I thought your last line was kinda childish. When you are pointed out on your faults, you might wanna work on it.

"Welcome to the public forums, deal with it"?
That's basically saying : "People are stupid and annoying on these, so why wouldn't I?"

Just out of curiousity, how was I being "Mean and childish"? I called you out on your denial about the majority of your DOA posts being negative in a straightforward, to-the-point, manner. I did not insult you or intend to insult you but it is clear that you took my post as an insult. If I wanted to insult you, I wouldn't be using my "indoor voice". I just wanted you to acknowledge that you haven't exactly been completely rosey in this thread because I hate when people stay in denial.

Based on past observation, your positive posts (since DOA5's release) have been about DLC news or other stuff reported on. That's fine and it's appreciated, but anytime you "spoke your mind", you almost completely brought down the mood of this thread. I don't think anyone in here has agreed with any of your opinions. This is 8WayRun, there's only one DOA5 thread. If you want to repeatedly vent about DOA5, do it on the FreeStepDodge forum pages where they might be more open to your perspectives.

I agree with Sp1d3r, your last post did come off as a bit immature and borderline antagonizing and butthurt. It really didn't convince me to see things your way. If I had similar problems with DOA5 as you, I'd be sure to bring it up once to see if anyone else has had similar issues.

^TBH I'm kinda dissappointed that they only show costumes and this is a trend I see in VF5:FS, and SC5.

I only wish they release DLC that is more than just costumes.

I'm just gonna be satisified with what the game has currently.
