Raphael Combo Discussion

Well I like to keep true combos in the main list. The grounded A+BA i'll admit is not infallible either, nor certain grab mixups after prep KBE wall splats.

Its not an oversight however.
I don't think people think any of these are actual combos.

A combo that's missing here is B+G! CE, for situations where 3A won't wall stun a second time and 3B won't connect. It's a meter alternative to A+BA follow up, does 110 dmg (compared to A+BA's 86 dmg).

Done.

24 additional damage for 2 bars. Gotta take what you can get

It's also useful after 44A+B! and 66K!, especially because with these moves A+BA is way harder to connect. Not sure on 44A+B, but the damage on 66K! CE is 84, compared to the meterless 66K! 66B+K which is 43.

Something I've been messing around with on training mode is that 33K actually wall stuns, sometimes high enough for 1B! 3B prep BB BE to connect for 82 dmg. If not that high, you can at least get a 3A! 3B prep BB BE for 73 dmg. I don't know if this is useful at all on battles because you have to be on a precise angle and very close range to the wall for 33K to wall stun.

Heads up guys. Remember SCIV with 22(B) randomly not even liking the combo to VE B on counter hit?

3(B) ~ Prep BB sometimes drops.
Yeah.

That's probably due to it counting as a tech trap. Stun diminishing returns act weirdly with certain strings.

I meant normal hit 3(B) ~BB. Not what Delloso said.

Sometimes drops. Not counter hit. Straight on alignment (happened after backstep). Hold G and luck out.
Dammit, Raph.

Yeah, for the brave edge in combos too. I was just suggesting my reasons for it happening.

I don't really mind, I had it happen, but rarely in actual matches. Usually with use of a needle in a wall combo.

I've had 3(B)~prepBB BE fail after certain stun combos because the last multi-stab portion of the BE failed to hit, and they could defend against the 236B portion of the BE.

There are known setups (especially when you stun your opponent when they are not aligned with you) but that has never happened to me outside of training mode

Here's a fun side project; What's the highest you have gotten the damage meter in practice mode?

My highest beats 300 damage with 2 tech traps. I included Random Ukemi, Guard all after Hit, and Counter-Hit in settings.

44AB Prep SE B 3B Prep BBB 22B 66B Prep K BE WS 33K BE (tad more than 1B then 3B Prep B BE,) CE

Some stuff to experiment with:

8A+B after Prep K BE splats extra high
33B after Prep K BE splats, seems to combo into iPrepA+B. Style combo!

Found something cool today. It's likely not worth it, but..

After blocking Algol's 6B.B.B at closest range
CE (bubble hits) 8B+K 3B.B.bBE = about 108 / 1.5 meter

You can also do this after getting the stun at closest range, but they're able to block it.. although most people try to attack you hoping the bubble gets you.

The bubble hit leaves you turned so they're on your left side, though there's very few, if any, issues buffering a 66/44 move. The stun inflicted by the CE is as good, if not better, than Prep. 2B.

I tried all the characters, Raphael is the only fun one..

3A trade with throw:
→ 6BB (32)
→ CE (91)

Also found that 66B's TC window continues till impact (at least). I have no idea when it starts, though.

Does anyone know how to make 88_22 A combo with 6BB and CE?
It happened to me a few times...
Sounds like it's hitting after the first active frame. The same thing can happen with 22B, allowing 3(B) to combo where it normally wouldn't. Probably no way to make it consistent though.

Too bad, would be great if it was possible.
I think it should combo into it, many chars have high 8wr antisteps that even combo on NH hit.
I wonder if they really wanted 22A and 33A not to combo.
At least 33A... cmon that move is so bad, you gotta give it something!
