Lost Swords

Transcending history and the world... SCII HD ONLINE!!!!!! Get hyped!
Omg i love this opening. <3
Edit: And no, it's just the old opening for nostalgia :3

Wait, SCII HD will have online but did it mention anywhere that there'll be team battle online?
If that happens, for sure...

Anyway, here's Soul Calibur 2 HD reveal trailer.

sure, i'll buy it. but my hype is significantly lower than i thought it would be. now i gotta hear even more SC2 nostalgia =/

At least this will get the serious players interested again. As for us character creators, oh well I suppose.

I challenge anybody to find someone more into CaS system than me... still i will welcome a SC without CaS, if it exorcise the wierdo audience out

Put the SC disc and find peoples that use SC characters instead theyr anime/balck knight/pinkafro/tribaltatoodemon shit? Yes please

Editor is a powerful and awesome shit (specially if end up in the hands of that 1% with actual artistic sense/knowledge), but in SC it just took too much spotlight

SC was an awesome fight game way before CaS system appeared

I checked out "Videogame Producer" on Wikipedia:
Responsibilities

An internal producer is heavily involved in the development of, usually, a single game. Responsibilities for this position vary from company to company, but in general, the person in this position has the following duties:

Negotiating contracts, including licensing deals
Acting as a liaison between the development staff and the upper stockholders (publisher or executive staff)
Developing and maintaining schedules and budgets
Overseeing creative (art and design) and technical development (game programming) of the game
Ensuring timely delivery of deliverables (such as Milestones)
Scheduling timely quality assurance (testing)
Arranging for beta testing and focus groups, if applicable
Arranging for localization

In short, the internal producer is ultimately responsible for timely delivery and final quality of the game.
It seems like Tago may have been at least partly responsible for some of the underwhelming features in SCV. Perhaps a new producer will be a very good thing.

It's nice to see some confirmed SC projects. If SC2 has a good netcode and team battle works online, then I'm definitely getting that. I'm curious about Lost Swords, but it's probably a long while before we'll hear anything about that. Maybe it's a next gen title.

i read on another forum they dropped Daishi and replaced him with Hoshino

True/Total BS/not 100% accurate?
Hoshino is the new producer, while Daishi was the director. So it sounds like Tago is the one who got replaced. It's unknown whether or not Daishi is still on working on any SC project.

As Oofmatic said, with SC5 being seen as rushed (clone characters, large part of the story mode being scrapped) it makes sense that they're having someone else act as producer.

Then, was it primarily Tago's decision to rush development? I was under the impression that he wanted to make a more complete game and thus wanted more time, but was under pressure from higher-ups at Namco-Bandai to meet a very strict deadline.

If the schedule he made didn't fit the budget given by Namco, then he did a poor job scheduling the project and it is his fault that the game seems rushed. If Namco suddenly said during development "We need this game out 3 months earlier than expected." then I don't think anyone can be blamed on the dev team.
