Weekly Famitsu Reveals Soulcalibur: Lost Swords

  • Admin
So if you guys remember, back in July, Namco-Bandai registered a trademark for "Soulcalibur: Lost Swords". A week later, they wrapped up their Comic-con panel, and revealed absolutely nothing about the upcoming title. Well as of this week, the title has been officially revealed in Weekly Famitsu.

According to Gematsu, Soulcalibur: Lost Swords will be a Playstation 3 exclusive free-to-play game in the vein of Tekken Revolution. If its similar to their other F2P titles, the game will be "time-limited" where players must purchase tokens in order to continue playing the game beyond its initial demo hours. Not much more is known about the title, but it will most likely be a slightly modified version of Soulcalibur V.

To be honest, I would actually pay full price if it were coming to Xbox. Stupid console exclusivity always ruining fighting games.

Namco, PLEASE MAKE A PC POOOOORORTT!!!

Just noticed from the art and the screens that Siegfried'armor is now silver instead of dark blue. I think it looks weird; if anything it should be darker than in SCV.

That's really my only complaint.

It's funny. People cried for a year and a half about not having more single player in SCV, or how SCV sucks compared to SC2, and now you have both, yet there's still tears.

Would rather have an update to SCV instead, but I'm fine playing SCV or something else until SCVI comes out.

I'm more annoyed its PSN only....

Always hated that, Xbox gets DLC early, but PSN gets exclusive content.

Ace Combat Infinity mentioned on previous page is also free to play... I guess B.Namco is really trying to get their IP out there and stay connected with their fanbase as we transition to next gen gaming. This is a good thing. It shows their commitment to these games.

But I guess there will always be people who complain about something.
I'm just happy there still making stuff in the Soul Calibur franchise.
Lost Swords, SC2HD, the aforementioned SC Army of Darkness project, and most likely SCVI or whatever the next installment will be (probably on next gen)

It's because Microsoft still has ridiculous policies in place on the X360 which prevents F2P games from appearing on the console, where as Sony doesn't.

DLC is dependent on the game as each companies will either pay for early or exclusive content. For example Microsoft puts big money towards receiving DLC content for COD games a month earlier than the other platforms.

So this is how it ends for those of us who like fighting games and chose Xbox this generation because of a hot exclusive on release (DoA4 then, KI now).

Let this be a lesson.

You will see more F2P games on the Xbox One. Just not on the X360 besides World of Tanks which requires a Gold subscription.

Really, i should be so happy, but i am so sad, because is only for PS3, what the people of Xbox will get? Can´t we get this as DLC for SCV? This is so uncool =(

You can say that again...I'd be willing to pay some money for those cash hounds as DLC, but I bet there are no plans for it now, well maybe but we dont know.
