Lost Swords

Tekken R was aimed at casuals too. That seems to be Namco's F2P model. Make the game easy to access, give the players stupid stuff to mess around with, make it just annoying enough that it makes people want more so they will have to move to a non F2P Namco game and then hopefully the player will move on to a real game like Tekken Tag 2 or SCV once they get tired of fluffing around in a marshmallow game.

At this point, I just want Lost Swords to be a success and hopefully, if it is, it shows that the fans are still willing to support SC and we get SC6 and so on.

Oh man just lol at this whole situation. Bamco is making LS strictly single player because of research? What about the research that caused them to release SC5, a game focused entirely on multiplayer? I wish they'd be honest and just tell people straight up - this is SC5 but with less characters, no balancing, no cutscenes, basically they made the game for almost no money and expect to get something back from microtransactions.

Ummm yeah.....whats wrong with that?

Perhaps you want all free stuff? I dont see how a company can make money that way. How do you expect them to make more games if they dont make money. This is the real world son. Money makes everything happen. Get a job, throw down them dollas and play some SC. Dont like it.....dont fuckin play SC or complain about it.

So thursday passed away and... no new info? Buuuu...

Hope we get more soon, and for God sake, i wish a damn release date for both LS and SC2 HD xD

Well I would definitely love a fighting game with a good storyline, but just not SC. Or any of the big names of the genre for that matter. These games were designed around gameplay, and the story was just an afterthought (whih is why they're all so terrible). I think it would be interesting to see, say, JRPGS, adopt FG-esque battle systems.

Well it's not a JRPGS but Blazblue does have an actually good story. It's easily the best story for any fighting game created.

Soul Calibur's story didn't use to be so bad. Soul Edge's story was decent. Not AMAZING, but every character was different, having their own background and motives, and Edge Master was fun.

In a global vision, Soul Calibur story is pretty decent, better than half of the 2D stuff throw at people.
God I can't say how bad Tekken and Street Fighter stories are.
If you think a little everyone in Soul Calibur, until V, was pretty much unique, Z.W.E.I for example is a very good personality, it is not what you expect, and his story is pretty solid.
Raphael also have a pretty good one.

zwei? you mean the power ranger posing/noob saibot knockoff poses. and zwei's personality is overused in the SC world. arrogant. thinks he's better than others. now if you're talking about Raphael from SC2 then i'll agree. he's changed to another boring character after 2 cause he fell into the stereotypical male SC persona. before he was arrogant, yeah, but the air about him was different. and he looked intimidating in his P1 outfit. and that voice too. but i feel now SC has been drifting towards the anime-ish style when it comes to character personalities and i got to say that i'm not impressed.

Z.W.E.I? Arrogant? Are you joking right, the guy who says "You today, me tomorrow."
Z.W.E.I build as the guy who have to wrong look, but actually is a good person.

The rest of new one of Soul Calibur V? Most are very stereotypical.

Also, don't confuse over confidence with arrogance, Cassandra is overconfident Patroklos is arrogant.
If you ask me, Soul Calibur males personalities are "all around." they did explore their roles pretty well.

This game is actually looking quite interesting. I need a release date, though!

It is a bit of a shame that multiplayer is not going to be featured in the game, but whatever. Just as long as they keep SCV up and running, which they will. I'll have everything I need until the release of SCVI. I don't think I'll be playing a large amount of SCIIHD, however. A little before my time. I'll buy it, but I like the feel of SCV. So I'll stick with that for the most part.

SC2's story was good. you just had to read. but i wonder how many people took that initiative.
How was it good? I played through the whole thing... and it wasn't terrible for a FG, but good? You're gonna have to elaborate on that.

Oh, and you also you had to read to understand both Edge Master and CoTS. I don't see your point.

i mean that SC2 didn't have cutscenes for it's weapon master mode. and there was a box of text before every mission. if you read it all then it's actually a damn good story. but the thing is, how many people would read through that much text for over 100 missions? i don't know about Edge Master but CoTS was much easier to get into because of the cinematics. there was substantial less reading in SC3 than SC2's story.
