How to port Soul Calibur III: Arcade Edition to PS2

I am just trying to to play this on mame. I am having a difficult time.

"Look for Soul Calibur III and download the CHD file (not the other romset). It is the MAME format DVD image file, and you need to extract it. MAME includes an application called CHDMAN you have to use to do so. Open it with the command prompt typing this command:
chdman extractraw -o output.raw -i input.chd "

When i type that in it doesn't recognize the command. How do I extract the CHD file?
yay a follow hwang fan:sc3hwang1:

Trying to make the ISO but my game completely locks up just as the battle is about to load when Hwang is selected and maybe Amy and Li Long if I had them.

Modding SoulCalibur 3 (http://8wayrun.com/threads/modding-soulcalibur-3.2908/)
Provides a link to Ver.C files for Hwang but it's dead. I only have Ver.A if that makes a difference.

They also say;
But for now at least we have those three. If you want to have those three playable though, you won't be able to use the normal cast. They will be kind of glitched out. Because on top of adding those moveset files, you'll need to add some more files that change the 'core' gameplay, (hit stun effects etc). If you add the AE movesets without doing this, then they will be glitched out, but if you DO do it, the AE movesets will work properly but the normal PS2 movesets will be glitched. I've added those extra files as well.
I'm thinking this might be related to the problem I'm having, maybe there's more files that need changed to stop the game crashing and the Ver.C RAR file has them. I would ask in their thread but they don't seem to have replied to it much for a long time because of how many years it has been.

I should also ask how can I quickly verify that the moveset changes are working, any go-to moves for example to quickly check for changes.

Yet the characters work for you, yes?

I swapped their movesets and models with arcade version equivalents but it crashes the game as the battle is about to begin with Hwang.

In File7.olk;
File717.pkg = 1829k
File718.pkg = 1830k
File1400.pkg = 3063k

That should be the 2 costumes and the moveset. Have I replaced the wrong files or are mine wrong somehow maybe?

The list of data in the File6.olk? Are you sure you didn't confuse that with File7? because I only see Files 1 and 2. 3 and 4 aren't even in there.

You probably have a different version of the game than what I have. In that case, sorry, I can't help you.

^Yeah, that's my thought as well, I know I mentioned it somewhere here before, but yeah, this would be real nice to complete the SC Saga on 360 and SC3 is missing. >_>

Great news guys! I've found the weapons Olcadan uses for the extra characters' styles ("The Ancient"), which are new to the AE, since he couldn't use them on PS2, the game also has all weapons for the standard characters from the PS2 version (of course, most of them are unused here).
These are found in File6.olk.

File 440 Hwang's Weapon: The Ancient
File 552 Li Long's Weapon: The Ancient
File 608 Amy's Weapon: The Ancient

Here are some pics...

However, it doesn't seem to be possible to allow Olcadan to use these styles on PS2.

Thanks a lot for the guide, I love how it balances the characters in Soulcalibur III! This guide is amazing but it disappoints me that Yoshimitsu and Ivy doesn't work properly even in the emulator. Olcadan also causes glitches in the graphics when he loads Yoshimitsu or Ivy's moveset. In quick play however, I have found that the graphics would be fixed when Yoshimitsu or Ivy fights the next character in Stage 2 and up, sadly this fix only stays in quick play I think. Another thing that I have found is that some stages have become more buggy in that some characters would teleport into the other side of the stage. Maybe updating the stages into Arcade Edition may help but the stage locations in the OLK files aren't shown in this guide. It would be nice if we can get these problems resolved to have an awesome game.

Also, I would like to know if there is a way to add and remove content rather than replacing them. And is there also a way for me to get the character select screen from Arcade Edition? It would be nice to have the character select screen in versus mode be similar to its arcade counterpart.

Again, I would like to thank you for this guide. It was fun modding the game :)

The teleportation is caused by the emulator. Just set the VU Cycling mode to Extra. This mode can also fix Ivy and Yoshi (I think.)

I just set the VU Cycling mode to Extra, and while it did fix the teleportation, it didn't fix Ivy and Yoshimitsu.
