You need a new pair of glasses, cause my post already have enough of these,,, and those...

And if Tekken 7 disappoint you, then good for you, and don't worry, no one will force you to like it, but doesn't mean it's fact, as there are already a lot of people liking it and the general vibe of it is super positive and that the game is super awesome, especially from the people that already had some time to play the game, something i very highly doubt you've done anyway, so.

Tekken DLC just confirms that Namco will switch to that road plan if they are to release a SC game. So no matter what, the SC that I might buy would happen more than a year after a potential SC release. Long story short, I probably won't play SC before 2020.

I'm honestly on the side of thinking Tekken 7 will be great. I mean let's be honest, do you really think Namco will bomb their star fighting game franchise? I think not.

They could do it if they are stupid enough, keeping your game in the arcades for 2+ years isn't exactly the best start.

DLC are fine for me if they'll high quality, and one of the good aspect of it is that Bandai Namco will still follow the game to keep it fresh for a considerable amount of time, instead of just releasing it and be done with it with no support. Soul Calibur 5 had DLC but it was trash and nonsens to be honest, all about silly and nonsensical customization and stuffs. Good DLCs for me could be anything, Unique and great characters design, Stages, Good costumes (fitting the characters) and such.

Actually one of the reason that gives me hope that SC6 is coming and that the game will be great, is that actually a lot of Game Developers, including Bandai Namco are looking carefully into Esport. There is a lot of potential Money gain in there actually. So it's not like in the past when the benefits only come for the number of the Sold for the game, but there is this new aspect of E-Sport Money that will make the risk of making a high budget fighting game less risky than it was before. (well at least that's how i'm seeing it)

Oh please I doubt they're stupid enough to fuck it up to the point it'll be unplayable. I doubt it'll be perfect but I still have my hopes that T7 will be great.

Still biding my time by listening to classic SC themes and a getting nostalgia and anger at the same time.

Tekken 7 is amazing and definitely won't disappoint (except the people that already want to be so)

And Tekken 7 Season Pass won't hold nothing for a New Soul Calibur Game, once T7 will be out on console, would be just a matter of Months to hear something about the Next Soul Calibur Game.

Personally i'm more worry or more hopeful i would say, about the fact is gonna be great (and that they would finally learned some lessons from Past Soul Calibur Games, especially from this F2P Abomination) than the game itself not being announced, i've good feeling about this last point. Just one example: Why would they do a Poll about the game? And the recent activities of Soul Calibur Twitter account, as well as Bandai Namco account that also asked in Twitter just recently about whose you favorite SC Character. I mean why would they do all this if nothing is planning for a New SC. As opposite as Virtua Fighter, when you don't hear nothing about this franchise from Sega side. So yeah it's hard to say if a new Virtua Fighter is actually happening.

Soul Calibur V could have been a Legendary , i mean i still love the game but some choices for this game were not very good imo. I hope they won' repeat the same mistakes for a next SC Game.
They did all this damn SC pols and twitter stuff cause SC got 20 and not because there is a new game coming soon...

I don't think they're going to fuck it up, I just think it could not be as amazing as everyone believes it'll be.

Why must you always be so negative about so many things these days regarding SC or Tekken 7 nowadays? Think positive my friend, cheer up.

DLCs are ok if they are fan services. Some of SCV DLCs were acceptable (stupid clothing, etc.), but when DLCs are actually something that was COMPLETED before the game release and something more important (in T7 case, characters and a game mode), that's ridiculous. In SCV case, P1 costumes should have been included though they are not game changing, introducing DLC-only characters is game-breaking as a game can't be balanced that way.

We're paying more for less, and seeing that nowadays every type of game relies on this shameful policy, I might fear that someday we'll pay $60 for the title screen and we'll have to buy each character and game mode separately.

Sorry but your opinion about how DLCs should work seems too much nonsens and weird for me. For me examples of good DLCs that could have made SCV even better are some unique characters (Setsuka, Zasalamel, Talim, Rock and such), and some alternate costumes (and why not some from old Soul Calibur), New Stages and such.

The whole DLCs packages for SCV was trash imo, and didn't add any value to the game, instead it even decrease it with a lot of nonsens. Even if i'm a super huge Tekken Fan, but still, what was was the point of putting Tekken Characters costumes in SCV?. (In the other hand i really did appreciate the balances patches they dropped after release and the adjustment they made to the game to make it more balance.)

But oh well at least it made me save my money, but personally i wouldn't have issue to put some extra bucks in a game that i love and want to support, and at the same time will give me Extra good quality contents for the game for 1 more year and guarantee me that the devs are still keeping their eye to the game and keep supporting it and the game will just keep being fresh and still present in the social media (But yeah, if you want Soul Calibur to stay niche, now that's another story). & BTW, Soul Calibur, as well as Tekken, aren't franchises that pop every year with a new iteration like some others (Fifa, COD, BF and such), it's a game you'll see every 4-5 year.

I'm not a big fan of 2D Games, but at least i recognize that in general those games handle things better than 3D games when it comes to post launch support, MKX, SFV, GGxrd, KI and now KOF14 all added things that have value like characters or costumes (real costume for characters not some common armor, pants and shirts that everybody in the game wear)

Tekken 7 DLCs are completed? How do you know that? Some proofs would be welcome. For me T7 SP is all about good news, now at least i know that Namco will continue to support the game for a while instead of abandon it right after the launch to go start work for the next Tekken Installment for Arcades or some other "Who cares" games.

Stages and costumes could be good DLCs imho, but characters? That's just a way to milk the customer. "Wanna fight with your favorite character? Give us more cash." or "Wanna train against a character that could appear in a tournament? Give us more cash." As far as I remember, DLCs characters are selectable in tournaments, so it would be a big disadvantage to the people not willing to pay for extra characters.

That's an example of bad DLCs, I agree. If we wanted Tekken characters, that's the game we would have bought.

That's where I kinda disagree: of course I would also support a game that I love, but simply adding characters every two months doesn't make it a great supportive plan.

Imho, fighting games aren't games that need constant DLCs aside from the occasional fan-service costume/stage/music or MAYBE even sometimes a story chapter. Adding characters that were planned a long time ago? Plain robbery. Disc-locked content? Plain robbery. Offering an half-finished game and asking for more funds while saying "but pwease support us we gave you a good game" is just inacceptable. "Post launch support" shouldn't be "adding more to ask for more money".

What do you think about these DLCs? Do you think they'll release T7 in June and then effortlessly create a game mode and 50 costumes (+35 SP exclusive) within 3 months? That's not how it works. Otherwise, if it took only 3 months to create a game mode and 50 costumes, we would have gotten T7 a long time ago. They've been planned all along and are ready to ship: these DLCs are already locked and loaded, the same way SCV ones were already on the disc. If content is announced before the game release itself, you can be SURE it's finished and, if not, just some days away from being done.

When people datamine Tekken 7 and find out that COMPLETED characters or game modes are locked on disk, then we can talk.

For now, what you are saying is just.. nonsense.

"Wanna fight with your favorite character? Give us more cash."
All T7 DLC characters are guest characters.
And as we are breaking into DLC theme (which has separate thread btw), I'll copy post on how I view the situation
in modern age of gaming you will never get a full game for 60$, that's why everyone is asking for "cutted" parts to be decent at least. Also, this would sound stupid for most, but it's not a wrong practice (as long as it's not too shameless). Nowadays creating a game costs more than before and 60$-per-copy would give a little profit, so for gaming companies to not go bankrupt, but don't bring backlash "80/100$?, are you insane?" they sell games by parts, which is more acceptable for most people. Also if they'll create additional content and realese it for prolonged time (characters, costumes etc) that could extend game's life and thats quite nice.

The way you are thinking it isn't how thing work, it's more than 3 months, the game must be ready to print on Disk and and then the whole distribution for the different Market and Such, this alone would take 2 months easy, so in this whole Lap time yes, it's definitely feasable to create content like Game and Costumes, also for the game mode it will depend on what it is exactly, it could be something for 1 month just like it could be for 6 months.

I hate and i'm against locked DLC too of course, but not all DLCs policies works that way, there are other examples, and not just in Fighting Games of DLCs that only brought good stuffs for the games, to make it even better with more contents. I agree that some companies use this a greed, but not all companies work that way. & like i said i won't have problem, and even appreciate it if a game i like get a 1 Year Support at least, especially if this game is from a franchise that get 1 Canon Game about each 5 years at least.

But in the end i kinda agree with in Characters and Stages that should be for free from everyone (or like purchasable with In gama Money). I think the best thing they could do in that matter is to make Gameplay related stuffs for In-Game currency and at the same time they'll add a lot of Purchasable Cosmetics Stuffs like Costumes and such. But i don't know a Fighting Game will ever do it. Only Game that made a similar concept is Street Fighter V, but it still kept Bashing by reviewers and people in the Internet, while the same people keep on prising games like MKX and soon Injustice 2 while those games have DLC characters and Stages that you can only get by paying real Money as opposite of SFV.

& look at Soul Calibur V Status? I don't know about you guys, but for me the game was clearly rushed at the End, and the bottom character selections was just to fulfill some blackholes, in that situation for me they should've do one of those thing:

- Cancel the game Until Fall so they can release the game they wanted to.

- Or, add a Season pass that would give you 4 Characters that they could've start working on after the Release, i would take those over having the game with that many mimics and some cheap clones.

An BTW Harada said after the delay for Tekken 7 from Early 2017 to June is was because in the past, they rushed some of their games, and in the end it wasn't a good decision, and i'm sure here he was referring to SCV. Well at least they're aware about that mistake i would say.

& You should know on how business work, you don't even realize that the Anime Games are taking more and more import place in Bandai Namco companies. Am i the only one that realize that since Bandai fused with Namco that all those Bandai Anime Games are taking more importance than Namco games like Tekken, Soul Calibur, and such? & i really, really don't want this to become even worse. Beside the fact that Season Pass would brought me extra contents for the game and 1 year support, and also if giving Soul Team 100 Bucks instead of 70 each 5 years, and limit the risk that SC franchise would die and the Soul Team would be split in Bandai Company to work on some other Silly Anime games, i'm glad i'm doing so. (But in the end if i don't see value in their DLCs i won't buy them, just like i didn't bought any of SCV DLCs. & like i said, i really wish i could have find some valuable thing as DLCs to support the game i love). Anime Bullshit isn't the reason why i love Video games, Video Games are new Stories, innovative gameplay, charismatic and original Characters with thei Background Story and such. If Bandai Namco think think that playing a Sayajin is the reason of Video Game being awesome, then hugg no comment. (even tho BTW i'm a DBZ Fan, the Anime & Manga i mean, the games? I can't care less)

Also you should see it by yourself on how 2D Games are rising, remember that it wasn't always be the game, and there was time where 3D were the biggest games and the most popuar in the industries SC, Tekken 5 and VF4), if you wanna survive any market, you MUST adapt. Why do you think still no sign about Virtua Fighter 6? Why do you think there no one for Soul Calibur 6? and Why do you think Tekken 7 make sure to milk Arcade players for 3 years before coming in console? Franchises need Money to keep growing & evolving, it's not anymore PS1 or 2 Era where you can take risk on releasing big Budget games that could not sell. If you think a new Soul Calibur game can survive today with just releasing the base game without Season Pass/DLCs Support in the Social Media Era we're living in then i'm sorry but i think you don't get it. And Post Launch Characters is the best way to keep on doing Marketing for Game that was already out and also making sure it will be at Evo more than One. (SCV everyone forgot it exists after its release except the super hardcore fans, and remember SF4? People still kept talking about it many years later, and it's gonna be the same for SFV, & if you think SF4 would have stayed so long in the people mouths and Evo if it hadn't that many upgrades.... 'cause no, it wouldn't have)

I opened this thread and now I'm disappointed :(
I share your sentiment.

lol don't mind cheddarsword. He's just bitter.

HOW DARE YOU! YOU PIECE OF yeah actually i am.

HA! Doesn't it just feel great to be yourself?

...What is exactly wrong with KOFXIV?
Imo, I really don't see much the matter with KOFXIV. I enjoy even just watching the game. To the player that answered the above question: If there's less post-release talk about a future SC than there is NOW of KOFXIV, everyone on this forum should then be worried. I remember SCV dying before KOFXIII ever did (if it ever did); and KOFXIII was released BEFORE SCV.

They did all this damn SC pols and twitter stuff cause SC got 20 and not because there is a new game coming soon...
I just think the 20th anniversary schmuck was just a meaningless celebration that the franchise has been around for 20 years. Nothing much more...
EDIT: Me only agreeing with your point. *smh*
