I believe the only answer we got on Z.W.E.I.'s age was 'unknown' so maybe he is like 300 or something and still look young like Maxi and Ivy, so why not say he was still around back in sc1 times xD

Maybe it's just me, but when brought up and I think about it, I've kind of asked myself what's the point? lol
She'd be broken as all hell on the surface.
The majority of weapons she uses and is known for and profiled uses are projectile weapons (bows and ammo weapons), with the only two melee type weapons she uses being the spear or lance. I feel like she'd be everything people hated about Algol (projectiles, but way faster) and Viola (trap set ups) in one character, but somehow worse and more annoying than both.
 
If you have to get a guest character, I wouldn't mind for Soul Calibur 6 get someone like

I feel like Soul Calibur tend to neglect one handed weapons a lot, so this would be fun.
 
I got a fairly substantial leak update just now that they had and were able to share....

Story mode is mainly going to cover SC1, but events from Soul Edge/Blade, SCII, and SCIII will be present in some shape or form!
Apparently "a lot of the SCIII-V characters will be reserved for DLC. Hilde is likely one of them."
And "most of Lost Swords' cast will be in SCVI. You can pretty much deduce who will and who won't. And as for the characters that weren't on V, but were added to Lost Swords that will be in: Taki and Cassandra, obviously Sophitia who's already confirmed, but probably not Mi-Na."

I asked what's up with Amy then since they didn't say her name with those "characters that weren't on V but added to Lost Swords" and they brought up the chance that she might just appear as Viola from now on, but they currently have no confirmation of that for sure.

There you go. You can let your speculation and roster predictions go wild with what we know now!

To make my own personal 20 character prediction since I'm setting expectations to 20 minimum still even though that isn't final and was told there will probably be more but want to not to get ahead of myself, here goes:
Mitsurugi
Sophitia
Siegfried
Nightmare
Taki
Ivy
Cervantes
Voldo
Astaroth
Kilik
Xianghua
Maxi
Yoshimitsu
Cassandra
Talim
Raphael
Tira
New guy with the dual blade style switching that's Kilik's rival (and an edgy assassin)
New guy's parent
Guest character (but if it exceeds 20, then Lizardman/Aeon and Yun-Seong or Hwang probably gets in as well as the guest)

That clocks in at exactly 20 right there.
If it exceeds 20, then yeah, Lizardman/Aeon's probably also getting in, same with Yun-Seong or Hwang.
Setsuka feels like an uncertain inclusion in terms of launch or DLC.
Zasalamel honestly feels like such a DLC bait character. And knowing that it sounds like at least one of the 3 newcomers from SCIII will be DLC, it comes down more to Setsuka or Zasalamel than it would Tira, since Tira is Nightmare's sidekick. Plus I heard about Tira before all this talk of DLC, so I feel that has to amount to something in regards to her standing of being a launch character.
Furthermore, her popularity and story relevance since she was introduced is too high to ignore, and in a reboot, they can simply give her retroactive relevance.

So my original theory holds some ground. I just wonder how will everything play out, since SC1 is the most isolated one. Maybe the reboot will make the SC2-3 events take place shortly after.

Hilde makes sense. SC3 characters, though, bother me. I think Zasalamel is fairly important to be made DLC instead of being in the base roster. Setsuka is also unlikely and Tira even less. Maybe a new character or one of the bonus characters? Amy with Viola's moveset?

Mi-Na never felt like a worth character to keep, to be honest. Taki and Cassandra make sense, maybe Amy too?

WHAT? Whoa, whoa, why? I hope they just meant moveset, I'd rather have her as Amy, to be honest.

A few questions for you I'd appreciate any answers you can give.

1. Do you know anything about "new guy's parent" style that you can tell us?
Is his weapon and style completely different to "new guys" style?

2. The way they said to you that some SCIII-V characters likely to come as DLC. Do you think that's their suttle way of saying they is gonna be a SCV style in or two and at least as DLC. (Really sliming it down to Viola and ZWEI.)

3. So with that information you got about Hlide do you reckon she is confirmed as at least as DLC.

4. How many DLC characters do you think we gonna have?

5. And my final question even before sc6 reveal you said they was 2 characters that's obvious characters for roster and that they were introduced in different games. Since then has those 2 characters aleady been Leaked now?
 
I am glad to hear that it is going to cover a lot of the story. That does mean if it is SC1-3, then there is going to be a lot -- and I mean a lot -- of retcons OR summations. It really sounds like this is the proper reboot that SC needed.

EDIT:
I am actually not surprised they would keep Viola. But I wonder how they are going to nerf her/ if she needs nerf if they take away the possibility of Brave Edging attacks

I know right? Like I would think the poll they held would be used to gauged roster choice and not some single player game that got scathing reviews and wasn't even playable on launch.
 
if the poll was respected we would have a bigger roster. somehow i think the people who would use the poll as reference for the SCVI potential roster have left project soul at this point.
