  • A brand new character

  • Amy

  • Cassandra

  • Hilde

  • Hwang/Yunsung and/or Lizardman

  • Rock

  • Setsuka

  • Viola

  • Z.W.E.I.

  • Other: Abyss, Algol, Dampierre, Elysium, Leixia, Li Long, Patroklos, etc.

I feel like Hayate's latest predictions are pretty much on-point and covered most angles:

Add Nightmare, Xianghua, and Kilik to the Confirmed group, but he's really got the right idea with everyone else.
The other groups are Leaked, High Chance or Rumored, and Low Chance or DLC, with the numbers lower less likely.

No Edgemaster? Or guest character?

I think EdgeMaster definitely has a chance, since he has a role in the story of SoulCalibur 1. And they can pretty much copy/paste him from SCV, only update him with the new movelists.

It's completely possible that after the backlash of having three mimics in SoulCalibur V, they feel like they need to over-correct the situation and have no mimics in SoulCalibur VI, just like there were no mimics in SoulCalibur IV. I'd like to see the old warrior return, myself, but it could be that Edge Master may be a story-only character and not be playable.

Then again, what if the plot twist was that Edge Master is Grøh's father, and he has some new unique style that is still a mimic but in a new and exciting way? Hopefully a better implementation than Necrid, but something similar.

Looking at the character select screen, I'm going to guess based off the leaks:

Siegfried / Guest / Nightmare
Xianghua
/ Maxi / Sophitia / Astaroth / Raphael
Zasalamel / Kilik / CAS / Grou / Papa Grou
Ivy / Mitsurugi / Cassandra / Taki / Cervantes
Tira/ Talim / Voldo

Ideally Cass could be replaced with either Yoshimitsu or a third newcomer.

If Nightmare has his post split cool shit and Sieg's stances from SC2....uhhhh.... they're going to need to do a lot of work on Sieg to make him stand on his own.

If Sieg is gone I'll be disappointed. I wish they could stick to their guns instead of going back to Siegmare. Sieg's been his own guy since 2005

I would put Talim where Raphael is, Raphael where Tira is, Tira where Voldo is, and Voldo where Talim is.

Talim opposing Xianghua as the cute girl character, Raphael opposing Siegfried as it seemed like Raphael was going to usurp Siegfried in SoulCalibur II, Tira "opposing" Nightmare in the same way that Cassandra "opposes" Sophitia, and Voldo opposing the guest because really he mostly does whatever.

Well, this video pretty much confirms that Siegfried is out.

Nightmare without a helmet is Siegfried

Guys, they just announced Omega Pyrrha and Alpha Patroklos for SCV! They must be removing Pyrrha and Patroklos, right? There's no conceivable way for there to be two versions of the same character in a fighting game.

The fact that Nightmare without a helmet is literally Siegfried in that video doesn't prove a squat??? F*ck logic.

See also Raph and Nightmare in V.

That announcement + 3 mimics killed my hype for SC5 (when you lose unique movesets that were in SC4)

Siegfried is no Oprah Apat or mimic level of disappointment. I'm more shocked that Project soul may be axing a veteran who has been a staple since SC3. It's like nobody is safe anymore

Siegfried was Nightmare in SCI and yet they were both separate playable characters in that game. It's still very plausible for them to do it again now, especially since their styles have differed a lot over the years.

watch out for this guy, he's going places
