It seems intro dialogue can change depending on the characters which is great. I noticed Kilik has particular ones with Groh and Nightmare. With Groh mentioning changing destiny and Nightmare sensing the madness within Kilik.

For all it is worthy, PS takes HUGE cultural liberties- Sophitia was called a Valkyrie in SC II and her signature Angel Step is a reference to divine creatures is Christian Mythology.

But someone like Hrist from Valkyrie Profile or Silmeria would make me so happy to be honest.
 
Out of curiosity, I looked up what “Aerondight” references, from where it says in the Playstation article that Grøh’s weapon is called the “Aerondight Replica”.

...and the first result is one of Geralt’s weapons from The Witcher 3. This probably doesn’t mean anything regarding guest characters just because I haven’t found a common factor (most of the weapons in almost any game have some IRL basis, ex. Excalibur, Monkey King Staff, etc.), but y’know, food for thought.

EDIT: Aerondight seems to be derivative from one of the swords from Arthurian lore, Aroundight. More food for thought.

The movelists look all very nice. I like how they gave Xianghua lots of stuff from SC4, but hopefully with better hitframes. Please no more negative frames for AA on hit. Return of Crouch Throws and her Command Throw are a big plus, too.
I wonder if she gets both Crouch Throws back or only her old 2B+G (which is the only one we've seen so far) and if the BT B+K Just Frame still exists. Also, I'd like to know more about her stance transitions into her new/old SXS and the moves she can do. Hopefully she'll get her stance throws back, too. SXS in SC4 was nice, but nothing that you could build your playstyle around with on high-level-play, mostly because of how slow most transitions were and how weak most options were (unless you had the fully charged version). Looking forward to more.

Since his blade is the “replica”, I’m more convinced now that his father is gonna be based off Lancelot (right hand man of King Arthur), while Grøh himself is Galahad. Though I’m not quite sure what Arthurian motifs are going to be contributing to the SCVI storyline.

Grøh's father is another newcomer yes. I wouldn't doubt it if he is since I don't know anything about the specifics to his design.

Might just be a coincidence, but Edge Master's armor also has a lion motif. There definitely could be a connection there.

That was a theory brought up on here before.
I said it before, but I was told Grøh will have issues with his father in the story.
It's probably not that out of the realm of possibility that for story purposes they needed or wanted Edge Master, but he got the Aeon Calcos treatment and was a past character introduced as a new version of an old character with a new name.
They could give him a new name, do away with the "I use every weapon style" thing and just have him do various character's moves as references to be the Edge Master, but be and have a unique weapon to tie it all together, since I was told Grøh's dad would be using a totally new moveset not meant to replace anyone.
Storywise, Grøh wanting to kill his father's student (Kilik) would draw a massive wedge between the two if this does add up.

What if they play it coy and he uses a lance?
 
Aval is too close to Oval, which could be reference to the Round Table...

Also, I'm a bit salty Mitsu and Sophie didn't get a quick backstory and cool titles. Tho knowing PS they would just call them "Blade Master" and "Holy Sword of Gloom" again.
