You may wish to pull their SoulCalibur I renditions as well. The observation has been made that the redesigns seem to be a hybrid of their looks between SoulCalibur I and SoulCalibur IV.

They're definitely based on their SC1 designs, though they sometimes take elements from other games (like Kilik has shoulder armour with an eagle design like in SC4, and Xianghua's hair is closer to SC2 than SC1).

You've gone and spoiled Namcos job where when they actually post something and that it's not new information it's just a 10 second video screenshot of the character from each game expected to hold us over till a actual reveal and you've done it in one post. We are doomed!
 
I don't know why I'm so specific with liking Xianghua with shorts rather than a miniskirt or dress.

Kilik's is a compromise between his occasional robes and his shirtless looks.

I'm starting to think Maxi will have a sleeveless version of his SC1 outfit since in the other even numbered games he goes for the vest instead.

It reminds me how SC3 really changed up the default palettes (Ivy wearing white and Taki with a blue outfit but SC2 gave Stupid Sexy Gollum white and 4 has fully clothed Kilik with blue when his secondary colors are usually yellow.)

So it seems safe to assume the designs for the returning characters will be a fusion of their latest and original designs.
 
OMFG i have to say that i absolutely love Nightmare's design in SC6, i mean Arghhhhhhhhkreygaaaaaaasm.

Easily his best design since SC2 i would say, may even be better (which at some point i though it was something impossible to happen)
 
It's interesting that you can see some pretty obvious influences in just about all of Kilik's designs. I hope some other characters get that treatment.
And yeah, I'm also not crazy about Xianghua's dress. Especially since none of her primary designs have ever been dresses. Plus, this dress is so short, even the simplest poses and motions result in gratuitous upskirt shots.
 
Kilik's four-tailed coat is becoming something of a trademark. Then again, the first three games had him wearing torn fabric. Maybe he'll switch to something new for the next three games.
 
I don't like Kilik's outfit in SCVI. I'm not sure why. Maybe too much of the same colour/shade? It looks a little plain compared to the other characters. Hopeing for a cool 2P or the ability to make our own.

I think it'd be cool if each character had 4 costumes, one from each previous game. It would be a great throwback ^_^. I doubt they'd go to that much trouble though.

But here we are reduced talking fashion. Times like this where I crave juicy new leaks/reveals to bite into. :(

Soulcalibur, and fighting games in general, doesn't fit with loot boxes because it has no valueless content to offset the valuable content on offer.
I'd rather not even think about the possibility, nor the twisting and bending they'd have to do to squeeze in some worthless content and try to make it relevant to the player (like Lost Swords...).

I don't see why they would because as far as I know gear in SCVI won't have an effect on stats, so there would be no incentive for people to spend actual money on them.

I wouldn't mind them if they only contained good gear eg alternate costumes, nostalgia costumes/weapons, themed CAS pieces etc but they should cost in game currency. I don't want to grind for ages like on T7 treasure battle just to find out I won another stupid t-shirt design or a dumb pair of glasses lol, they should all look cool, be meaningful, and be unobtainable anywhere else. There's no way that I'd pay actual money for a random cosmetic item I might hate cos it just isn't worth it.
