I don't think that's how game development works...
It does, actually. Bring in the best players with specific characters, or simply well known players so that they bring attention to the event in addition to give a very good demonstration of what characters can do, seems like a logical decision.

I don't care if they even reveal any characters, I'd just like to see gameplay from some pros that have had their hands on the game for a couple days.
thing is they may not have had any time with the game if there is new characters prior to this event. They could be going in thinking its just for some invitational for some well known players like the Smash 4 invitational back in 2014.

Honestly, when it comes to Soul Calibur I just expect the worst in regards to how characters are revealed and gameplay is shown off. I think I've been spoiled by NRS since character reveal trailers have like a minute of combos and unique character abilities followed by a 10-minute character breakdown a week or two later. While project soul shows maybe 15 seconds of combos in the reveal trailer followed by potato quality gameplay till the game is released.

While I agree, these last two reveals make me believe that right after characters are revealed there's a playable demo soon after.

Which is nice but I'd rather see the people working on the game's balance be the ones to show off gameplay, not a bunch of casuals. I know it's a good way to get feedback and exposure but watching people mash really makes the game look like shit.

I think it's definitely going to be playable. EVO is too big of an opportunity for them to miss. We'll probably get a character reveal too.
I can't imagine them missing events like EVO, E3, TGS, etc..

What makes you think because they have specific players coming theres an announcement of their main? A Tira Maxi revel doesnt even make sense.

Why not get an Ivy Maxi Cervantes main instead? There are probably just the top players they reached out to.

What I mean by missing EVO2018 is good is because SCVI won't be no last minute EVO game of poor balance & bugs. Character reveals and other SCVI announcements will happen at events E3, EVO, TGS, etc.

New SCVI Screenshots for Groh, Kilik, Nightmare, & Xianghua

It feels like their goal is to miss opportunities to reveal new things about the game lmao. I really hope their so called "Project Soul member VS SoulCalibur V community leader" will be interesting.
