I'm really confused as to why there will only be four characters available for testing -- and one of them isn't even Zasalamel?

While I'm very excited to see some Ivy gameplay I do have to wonder why on earth they would exclude the other character that they recently revealed, not to mention the fact that it also includes Mitsurugi and Sophitia (who are still great, but it's becoming a bit boring to see them repeatedly and less of other characters since the start).

The way they tweeted it is weird, because after that they say 6 characters... But in those tweets it has everyone but Grøh.
 
I think the folks on Twitter can't count, or they don't proofread their posts before making them, or something. Nothing makes any sense with what we've seen so far except to have all eight revealed characters playable with the new stage shown in the latest trailer playable as well, unless some weird unforeseen technical problem came up. But I can't imagine what it would be.
 
Perhaps they’ll give one, but...I can’t think of any reason not to have the full cast be playable. Maybe they tweeted the wrong picture or something?

Also, I'm still so bothered by how bland these showcases are. You'd think they'd tell us something you can't infer just by looking at the characters. At least at this point we know not to expect much from these videos. Hopefully they get better. I doubt it though.

These character showcase vids are just hold people over till the next character reveal.

I know, but I don't feel that they even do much of a good job of that. They all amount to Okubo just kind of rambling about the characters while not really mentioning any interesting information. If they really want to hold the fans over until the next reveal, the smart thing to do would be to go into a little bit more detail without spoiling anything, which I'm sure is possible. Hell, maybe showing some concept art and talking about how they arrived at the final design or something. Just anything beyond "This is this character and they look like this and this game is really cool" would be nice because that's definitely not gonna help hype up the game.
 
I don't think a playable build with Zas and Ivy would be super farfetched considering most announced characters had playable builds on announcement, so it was not like misplaced hope or anything.

I wonder if they want to add more characters to this build before making it playable to the public, we're getting somewhat monthly reveals, so maybe they wanted to add 2 more characters, most likely at the end of the month, before having another playable build.

For God's sake do not pre-order this game yet.

If people are sold with only 8 characters / 3 Stages, Bamco will try to make as much profit as possible.

It's like they are making a market analysis for this game.
I mean if people are Ok with this then Bamco is going to cut most content they can to sell it as DLCs because they know people are going to fall for it.

Don't be stupid. Pre-order doesn't give you the right to play the release version of the game before everyone else does. Doesn't give you any kind of advantage so far. So there is no reason to pre-order it even if you like what you've seen so far.

Do not be a conformist or they won't even try to make a good game.
If they want to sell the game they better put more effort and content in it.
