She’s not carrying the series and I never said that. Also those vocal fan are important if sc is to be successful. Also you can’t say that a lot of people won’t be mad if she’s not in the roster, it will just seem too greedy to have her the one that won the poll to be specifically left out. They could hold her out but that just seems greedy. Also, I am just saying from observation, I could care less if she’s not in.

Another interesting point about the story mode screen, lining it up, there's three characters blocked by the Kilik vs. Grøh banner. And then, if you count how many characters there are, there are only 20 characters. Which means that there are 2-3 characters who are not involved with the story at all. So, from my own predictions, here's the list:

Of who we already know about / confirmed characters, we're missing Yoshimitsu from this list, so he very well could be one of the three unseen names, but there's also Talim to consider, if she'll be in the base roster. And if she is, and she is involved in the story, then it's likely that she would have ties to Yun-seong, so that could be the third.
But then again, Talim and Yun-seong could have precisely nothing to do with the story, all the same, so if we speculate who the other characters are, if Cassandra makes it in, I could see her being below Tira, because after she does whatever she's going to do to Sophitia, Cassandra going out to save her sister seems a pretty plausible plotline to pursue.
And we still don't know about Grøh's father, his inclusion, his identity, his role, his anything, but if he's an observer or a manipulator, then I could see him being listed above Zasalamel, but still near the bottom, since I've yet to mention but it appears to me that the characters, as listed in order, are still grouped together by relationships, to some extent.
Lastly, we could consider Raphael, where he would fall into this story, should he be included in the base roster. I feel like he and Yoshimitsu have similar enough paths, where they're not directly involved with the swords, but they have their own goals, so we may see their plights alongside the rest of the story...
So I could see those three slots being:

Or somewhere inbetween, some mix-and-match scenario. But someone's getting left out of the story for sure, unless this isn't a final count.

I'm guessing that the "bonus character" is actually either someone you unlock thru story gameplay or is the preorder bonus. Seriously doubt they'd lock a character behind a season pass.
My theory is its Inferno. He'll have his own moveset and he'll take the spot right in the middle. It's a stretch but I like it.

Hey guys, about the story screen mode, i found that the screen on the trailer looks like it has more chapters comparing to the screenshot on twitter, i'm using Maxi and Groh as example, i see that the character list on the trailer is shortened comparing to the screenshot which has timelines for characters not revealed yet but i wonder if the screenshot is from a earlier build version or the screen shown on the trailer is from a earlier build (i don't know the exact count of chapters on the trailer because it fades too fast before showing completely). i'm just thinking on how much chapters we will get on each character
edit: looking at the twitter screenshot it looks like the censored name below Groh has borrowed some chapters from Groh's timeline, because the censored name has 4 chapters, groh has 5 and on the trailer Groh has 9+

True enough, and something else to note, is that Grøh's story has more dots in it in the story trailer, so the grey dots on the end of the screenshot image are likely not endings, but points that have not yet been completed. The character names missing from the story trailer, though, are the ones from the screenshot that are blurred out, so they may have just modified the list for the trailer since the blurred out names are characters who have yet to be revealed, and it would have looked dumb to include blurred out names in a trailer.

Zasalamel and Geralt are also missing from the timelines in the story trailer. They still haven't given a definitive number of playable characters, so there could be more added to the list and as another poster said it might not be the final one, it's there to give us an idea of how things will look/work.

Still, it seems lack of many character into the story. We have Tira, Cassandra, Raphael and 3 Korean Characters in the history of soul. But only 2 of them could join in the new story line, somethings is missing here.

You make some interesting speculation, but I think the part about Raphael seems the most unlikely.
If we look at SC2 and SC3, Raphael ties most closely to Nightmare (fought him and pierced soul edge), Cassandra (Fought and stole her shard and her destined battle), Tira (Shown fighting her and possibly involved in using his body for Nightmare later), and Talim (both his and her destined battle from SC3.) Raphael can be a little hard to disseminate since he had the most destined battles in both 2 and 3 though. How much they change the original events of the games is still subject to be seen too.
I'm not sure exactly where this timeline stops relative to the games based on 1590, but If Raphael is in the base roster and part of the story, I feel it's more likely it would be Raphael, Cassandra, and Talim hidden away. Tira is already confirmed somewhere in their too.

Yeah, if the storty only support 20 characters. I afraid Korean characters would not join in the story, but DLC character. Cause Raphael is more close to the Soul Edge and become Nightmare in the future.

Voldo -might- not have story, that's possible, but there's not really anyone else with the appropriate name length to fit in that spot, unless it's Grøh's father with the short name. I disagree with Naestrinus saying Talim goes there, because of my earlier observation that the characters have seemingly linked relationships based on the list order, and Talim between Grøh and Ivy doesn't make any sense.
Lizardman likely will have a story, because the story trailer shows an image of the Schwarzstrom (Nightmare, Ivy, Astaroth, and Lizardman). You can't show off the group and just not have one of the members have a playable story section, that would be silly. Plus, the names fit.
I admit my speculation about Raphael was the weakest leg, but I held back on his relationships to the other characters, because all of those took place after 1590, which is where this story ends. Unless they retcon it, of course, we don't really know what he was doing before the events of SoulCalibur II, which is why I likened him to Yoshimitsu, likely pursuing his own goals, before discovering the swords and becoming intertwined into their fates. Besides that, I want to see more of non-malfested Raphael, to get a real history of his character.

I just don’t want to lose any weapon types. The possibility of Lizzy getting an S&S back along with possibly Cassie coming back might be dissapointing. Hoping Hwang is DLC just for a cutlass that doesn’t act derpy or girly (even though my intended cutlass OC might be a female) and Raph is concerning since Amy is more popular and DLC bait.
The fights might just be the ones where the character is the winner. So that means you might get to kill Maxi’s crew with Astaroth or Lizzy.

i wish project soul got generous and gave us all characters just like Smash Bros are getting everyone ever made plus some new characters. must be nice to be a smash player.
