Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It's pretty clever of Namco to have the timeline on SCVI cover the period of Soul Edge to right before the start SCII (based on that story mode screenshot), since that allows them to possibly include any of the characters that debuted in SCII to SCIV and have them be (at most) one year younger than their first appearance.

Speaking of information, I got some more. People have still been wondering about it, but yes Maxi is gay, but there will be VERY vague implications to it. Significantly more vague than Kung Jin in MKX. Thank the localization team for helping with that. It was noted to pay attention to how he acts in story mode around a handful of male characters and you'll notice the subtlety at work.

It comes as no surprise after the story trailer, but can 100% confirm Lizardman will be in the game, not as DLC or anything like that, but in the game. However I cannot confirm him having a unique moveset as a playable character or just being a Sophitia clone to beat up only in the story mode at the moment.

The roster is finalized in case you were wondering. No more last minute changes. The DLC characters are decided on.

As for some potentially regretful news, it looks like Raphael fans might wind up having some stress sweat....

Can't decide who the last one might be, but most likely either Setsuka, Hilde, Rock, Raphael, New Female Character, Inferno (or any other mimic), Mi-Na, or Cassandra.

Mi-Na & Raphael do not seem likely according to Verg.

Yun-seong to tie in with Talim. Hwang exists for Seong Mi-na, who it looks like we're not getting. The last two? Cassandra and Lizardman.

Honestly, I was kind of expecting Raphael to not be a major factor this time around anyways, it makes sense when you think about it considering his lack of popularity and what we've seen so far, so if it's true so be it, I already came to terms with it long ago :).

I haven't had any significant updates on them in a while. But out of all the Koreans, Hwang looks like he might have the best shot given that I heard they'd most likely chose him over Yun-Seong if it came down to it, and @Hayate hearing about Hwang in a way before too. But I still don't think hopes should get high unless something actually definite is heard.
 
Since Raphael and Amy are tied together, Amy tied to Raphael, without giving Amy a new origin story, which seems like way too much work, it seems more likely to have Salia than Amy, if we're still getting a rapier user.

This also sets up a neat parallelism with Nightmare/Tira and SIegfried/Salia.

As long as Salia's style is closer to Amy than Raph I would approve.
 
Honestly after reading what verg said if it weren't for Talim being like 90% confirmed I'd have no one I'd want to play as here's hoping Raphael makes it in as dlc if nothing else
 
I hope Namco keep out the "funny" characters like Raph... not sure how I feel about that ZWEI; he's probably one of those other "funny" characters that don't fit. Can you imagine how badly eSports would be affected if we had Yoda? Also, let's not have any clones please...
